Soy brasileño de Río de Janeiro, e infelizmente acá en Río de Janeiro, todos tus tips también se aplican aquí para el Río de Janeiro, pues apesar del Río tener bairrios lindos, en las boates y hasta mismo en las calles, se debe tener atención siempre. El tip de los vasos es súper importante. Jamás también aquí en Río de Janeiro, dejé un vaso sólo en la barra del bar de una boate.

In case you're curious why she's pronouncing Medellín with J sound at the end for the double-L, it is because of the accent of the people who live there. Apparently, in their accent, double-L is generally pronounced with J sound in English. I think Shel doesn't pronounce every double-L like that but just that word because it is how the natives call it.

Actually, all words with double L in the middle in spanish are pronounced like that (sorry for my english)

@@Jakub680 It is not. All words with double LL are pronounced like this, in the only region where it can change depending on the accent is Argentina/Uruguay, where they pronounce yo/llo as sho. In other Spanish-speaking countries it is pronounced like she does. Words like Anillo, ladrillo, caballo, cabello, llama, camello, ballena, lleno, pollo... are all pronounced like she does with Medellín.

Most important rule, DO NOT use a dating app, it WILL end badly. Learn basic Paisa, this is the dialect the "bad" girls use, and it is fun to learn :)
Try to meet genuine people online long before you visit, so you know someone when you arrive and they can guide you as they know the areas well.
NEVER walk around with your phone in your hand, you will have it stolen, find a quiet private area to use it and be quick.
The best areas to meet people are the tourist areas, it is difficult for bad actors to be in those areas as they are heaviliy monitored.
Man this seems like it would suck especially if you like to use Google Maps lol. I’ve got a couple burner phones though so I suppose I could just take one of those out and worst case they steal my 80 dollar Android burner. At the same time I could just go somewhere where that is less of an issue idk
I’ve been here over a month and people walk around with their phones and headphones out almost everywhere! My general rule is if you see the natives here doing it, you’re probably good, but it’s about common sense at the end of the day.

Gracias por las videos. Hola, soy alemán. Tengo más de 30 años de experiencia con Colombia, especialmente con el Eje Cafetero. Para mí el clima es más agradable allí. Tengo un hijo. Él es mitad colombiano y una nieta es cuarto colombiana. Ok, 25 por ciento de colombiana es mejor que nada. 🤣🤣
Siempre digo que si alguien empieza a aprender español lo mejor es hacerlo en el norte de Suramérica. Esto es mucho más adecuado para principiantes que en España. Porque en Colombia, por ejemplo, la gente habla mucho más lento y suave que en España.

Cuando viajas mucho durante muchos años, te das cuenta de que algunos lugares son muy seguros: una mujer sola por la noche puede caminar a todas partes, o puedes dejar el teléfono en la mesa de un bar e ir al baño.En los lugares donde no es necesario cerrar la puerta con llave por la noche, deje la bicicleta sin candado. Hay muchos países así en el mundo. Las personas que viven en esos países deben aprender sobre seguridad.

I see a lot of passport bros here in Thailand and I’m like damn you can afford an international flight half-way around the world, but can’t afford a damn gym membership lmao (it’s a lot of really fat middle aged guys lmao). It's not the price of the gym. You don't even need a gym to be fit. Self control for the calories, and self discipline to do the exercise gym or no gym.
