What are your top 3 countries that you want to visit that you haven't been to yet? Also, do you guys plan on visiting any of the nature in Europe? So far we've only seen you explore the cities but Europe has some amazing natural beauty!
Emilia Romagna region is one of the most woefully overlooked regions in Italy. Also known as the Food Valley , Home to so many dishes and foods (Parmigiano and Parma Ham to name a few.) also home to Ferrari , Lamborghini and Maserati. You've barely scratched the surface.
11:34 i’m not really sure why you had to go all the way from Piazza Galvani to Via Righi to drink a capuccino, there’s a bar every 10 meters basically. In Piazza Galvani you were basically in front of Zanarini, a bit fancy but they have very good pastry (is sort of *the* upper class bar in Bologna). Btw, the statue on the back, around 09:46 , that’s a statue of Luigi Galvani, one of the pioneers on electricity research. He’s the guy the term “galvanize” comes from!
the water is served before coffee in order to clean ur mouth to better taste the coffee flavour. When I was in Australia a tour guide told me the coffee culture was brought over by Italian immigrants and I have to say, the cappuccinos, flat whites and all the rest over there are outstanding
Yeah the Australian coffee culture is so interesting! Yes, initially brought via the Italian community. However now, the reason it’s so good in Australia is actually out of competition - so the Greek community, Lebanese community, and Turkish community all basically immigrated at the same time as the Italian community - once the Italian culture of having a coffee as a social event took off in Melbourne and became popular, the different ethnic communities basically innovated over and over trying to 1 up each other and now we have this very unique coffee culture where we take our coffee very seriously, and your shop won’t last unless it’s world class coffee 😂
@@josievlogsthings I agree, it is itaken very seriously in Australia, also to find job as barista is not so easy, skills are required. I've also noticed a difference between Italy and OZ: in Italy due to volume of cappuccinos ordered and the fast drinking culture, a barista has to be quick on top of good, in Australia being fast is not so important, or not at all, is very much valued the art of making a good cappuccino rather then the speed, when I was there I could really see how slow baristas are compared to italian ones 😄 but the quality was amazing!
I think they give you water with coffee because the coffee is so strong . It's to cleanse your palette and keep your breath fresh i think. Also thought Italians drink a lot of coffee, things like lattes and cappuccino are more breakfast only items.
About 10 years ago I did a tour of Italy. I think I really liked Verona but would love to go back to Rome and explore properly because we only had a few hours there.

I assume they serve water with coffee to cleanse the palate, similar to how they offer a bottle of water in Sydney (Australia), but you may have to buy it.
They refused to buy some cannolo because its filling is made with ricotta... Not knowing that its taste is not salty or cheesy... But the cannolo is, instead, the best pastry piece you can buy here in Italy, along with sfogliatelle napoletane and baci di dama!!! They are 2 australian rednecks that does not know anything about Italy at all!!!
Italians have their own coffee culture. Starbucks tried to do business in Italy, but the locals did not buy their mediocre sugar syrups instead of espressos. So after 2-3 years Starbucks had to close all shops.
14:08 you’re cazy, sweet ricotta is one of the best filling for pastry ever. 14:50 i honestly always wondered who bought stuff in that awful place, and always assumed it was a money laundering scheme 🤷🏻♂️
I actually did enjoy in France having coffee with sparkling water - occasionally have it over here in Oz, but the sparkling water is so expensive compared to there!
"I don't wanna chees, I wanna sweet".... An advice to you, the fact you add the word "cheese" after "ricotta" doesn't make the "ricotta" a properly cheese 😂😂 Ricotta is totally neutral and you can make salad or sweet plates with it. In fact traditional "cannoli" (Sicilian sweet) are made by sweetened ricotta flavored with cinnamon. I'll explain why ricotta is not a cheese. Both are milk derivatives, but the very first step is the main to choose which product you wanna get: "casein" is separated from "whey" in milk. Now from "casein" you obtain the cheese, from milk "whey" you obtain the ricotta. Peace✌🏻
Bologna is a marvellous city, especially for atmosphere and people (far above the italian average, and I'm saying it as a "terrone", southern italian). Who hates Italy? Italians.
Look like perfect cappuccino, with creamy foam, perfect consistency, when you see bubbles on the foam is not good, from an Italian👌🏻 And Starbucks is not for Italian too, espresso bar is cultural thing too…
I’m filming a Q&A soon for a video in vlogmas - if you have any questions leave them here and we may answer them in an upcoming video! ☺️😁
How did you meet michael?
How is michaels adhd while travelling fulltime?

Do you have a home Base that you go back to? Who's looking after your dog while you are away. How long do you see yourself travelling for? X

I’m Italian, in every bar the give you a small glass of water to clean your palate before drinking the coffee, to appreciate its taste 🙂
the coffee in italy is the baddest in terms of quality

I hope that you guys have had a good time exploring Italy.
Thanks for visiting back again. 🥂

Try Turin !
Sounds like The Halloween movie music in the bg, Micheal is hunting 😂 6:07
Lovin Vlogmas can’t wait for each one , so good ❤
Also cheese is the best twisty flavour! Also noticed I don't recall seeing chicken flavour in the supermarket recently!

È vero in parte a Bologna e Milano è attivo.personalmente non ci metto piede non pago 7/8 euro per bere surrogato.saluti da aBologna❤
Of course, my friend! And we're very proud of that. Ain't no way I'm gonna drink that rubbish from Starbucks!

You said it right, Bologna doesn't look as good in video as it does in real life. By the way it looks beautiful in your video ☺
I was shocked you didn’t put Italy higher ahah. It is for sure a must visit, imo. No where else quite like it.
Yeah - I regret it now - the rain had me fooled 😢😢
I actually did enjoy in France having coffee with sparkling water - occasionally have it over here in Oz, but the sparkling water is so expensive compared to there!

My uncle was born in Bologna. He said i have to go there.

Cannoli with ricotta are indeed sweets. I'm not a fan of it, but it's definetely something sweet, it's typical from sicily
Try as desert teramisu so nice
Cheese Twisties for the win! 😃
Sorry Michael lol😅
Hai rifiutato il cannolo con la ricotta? Non sai il sapore che ti sei perso!
First 🙌
That was REALLY fast 🤣😅
@@josievlogsthings I was READY 😂💗
Definitely CHEESE! 🙂
Italy loves cappuccinos! You need to get them there. 🤌
