Nope. This one is complete bullshit. Complete and utter bull**** I spent most of my career serving rural Alaskans, and several years living in small villages. No, these two won't starve or even miss a meal. Several reasons, and I'll mention just two...if it's a more traditional village NO ONE goes hungry unless EVERYONE goes hungry and the second, the far more likely episode...they'll receive public assistance to the value of about $2400 in Quest (food stamps), and energy assistance (additional $ for fuel oil), as well as additional public benefits to include free health care, free travel to hub communities for healthcare (grocery shopping trips), free housing, and corporate dividends. Sorry RUclips producer, you've been sold a bill of goods and now you're selling it to people that have never been more than thirty minutes from a custom latte' Complete, utter crap
Dont you know what a reality show is? These two people are not living on the brink of starvation at all. They are living in a comfortable cabin with a camera crew and plenty of food .
I have always liked Heimo since his first video. He reminds you of (Bill Murray) the cool uncle that hunted and let you shoot, smoke, start camp fires and drink. I have watched his videos for decades. Really nice guy. I am an equipment snob and spare no costs for hunting ammo and rifles & scopes, knives etc. When I see his old 788 and cheap scope I realize you don't have to have the best, just something that works and you wont be afraid to use it hard like a tool. In all his videos I have never seen Heimo really mad or sad (except remembering his daughter R.I.P.). He is an inspirational upbeat guy, Edna too. They really compliment and fit each other like a glove. God bless Heimo and Edna Korth. May they always have a nice fire to keep warm and fresh washed caribou stomach to share by the stream.
Watched every episode - every season, multiple times. Best reality show ever! Learned a ton. Great story telling. Miss Bob - sad that he lost his fight against his illness. Sad to learn the show was discontinued- would love to see them bring the series back.
Me too, Lawrence. It seemed the only really real reality shows to have been made. The only others I can think of was Les Stroud's survival series and Dick Pereniki's (? spelling) filming, but both of those were without film crews. I wish there were more or these non-scripted shows on tv instead of everything else that makes my tv redundant these days.
.... Yes indeed, think of this person Bob. I have lots of respect for him and people like him . So glad his family let his ashes at his favourite place . He will be taken by the wind for ever . ✨🕊️🍂
Real frontiers couple, loving, caring, Edna pretty tough girl herself. Watched for years. Heimo, easy going and knows how to survive. Natural hunter, provider, even during hard times.
🌺 Oh, how I love Edna, Heimo and this show!!! These 2 are my favorite of all of them on this show! They are the perfect couple, they care and love each other deeply!!! 🌺
Definitely, hands down my favorite “reality” TV show. In fact the only one I watch, because it’s an actual reality. I’d give just about anything to have this life. Makes you wonder how they’re fairing with pretty much the bulk of Alaska burning.
Hi Heimo and wife. Bought a book about you in 1980,s. Still have the book and glad you are still surviving in the bush. You are the real mountain man since Buckskin Bill along Salmon River in Idaho passed on.
The author who visited Heimo Korth and family in 1994 was Joseph Campbell. The book was published in 2004 by Atria books and titled The Final Frontiersman: Heimo Korth and his family, alone in Alaska,s Wilderness.
I was sorry to see that show go.. That's a tough life as it is and needs no DRAMA to be interesting.. I really enjoyed watching and learning from them..
My favorite FAVORITE couple. I'm jealous of their relationship, but I can imagine their struggle living off grid. I REALLY admire their love of family and nature. They are living my dream. God bless them and their family. Everyone should try and emulate them and their values. Salt of the earth if ever there was.
Loved the series and have watched it multiple times. The only show where you have the people in front of the camera telling the ones behind them what to do. The way reality tv shows should really work. Little to no choreographing or scripting, just follow us around and film... if you've the time and nothing better to do, lol.
For a long time when I watched their camp near the Coleen river, I watched if not among the first, and since then ..they are my IDOLS or they are my favorite and Agafia from Russia.. I miss seeing Heimo and Edna, in their camp or paradise. Hard to survive but they are masters of it. Greetings from Alberta.! ✌🌲💕🍂🌿🍁👍
Made me miss Alaska, im old now but id go back in a heart beat. Struggle i might but it would be better then city living. The city smells and society falls apart faster then those living in the outback of Northern Alaska. JMHO

I've said it many times before & I'll say it again... "best show EVER" I've got to be the very greatest fan of T.L.A. . "man..has the world changed since we all first was introduced to Hiemo,Bob,The Lewis's & those other modern pioneers in the furthest reaches of the last frontier.. Sure miss this program. - 'Earl'
They're both amazing people but Edna is something else. She shot and killed two wolves near their cabin, at night, with a .44 revolver. She's deadly and he's no slouch either. Miss "The Last Alaskans". One of the best reality shows ever.
Loved this show an all the people that were on it,an how they are doing now ,there family’s etc.prong them back are let us no where they are if still on,thanks a fan
I truly enjoy watching your video, it's very nice to see a married couple who's been living off of nature and hunting for their meat. Thank you for sharing your video. Also it was an epic video and I'm a new subscriber to your channel 🇺🇸💯😇🙏🏻👍👍God bless you both and take care, be safe and stay well .
This is great quality, real life of a different kind, a natural and clean pure kind of life the way it all started with and used to be, before everyone got dependent upon their Governments, great video sir,🇺🇸👍
I really miss seeing Heimo and Edna, and I find myself wondering how they are doing in December 2022. I hope they are well and happy, and that their daughter Krin and her husband and son have come out to stay with them.
I love this show, I read the comments and I am not alone with this. I just have to say, that was a short chain for that poor dog. The dog is so important for them, it is their first notice of intruders. A winter bear killed one of their dogs while it was chained up. Edna saw it happen.
My hunting buddies hate me at times... I've hunted moose over 50 years... YES SIR...the smell of moose gets me excited... I LOVE THE SOUNDS OF THE WILDERNESS...AND OF GRUNT OF A MOOSE...or the bellow of a cow... Every year I've hunted moose...I've harvested a moose... LOCE YOU VIDEO....
i adored this show... just seeing it pop up made me feel good, heimos voice is the friendliest and most warmth, greatest couple ever.... then theres bob
She passed away and I loved her ! She was so smart about Alaska and her talents were many! She would go out hunting around the close area. She found a wolf in a trap and a wolf was staying with him so she got them both and was ready to skin them when he came home and she killed a moose or an Elk one day and when he came home he had killed nothing but she had meat ready to hang up! She was amazing and so sweet! He really has missed her I’m sure! She was a great helper!
Awesome couple. Reminds me of my granny and grandpa. They lived off the grid and off nature most of their lives till they moved to the city. My grandpa still hunted, trapped and fished all year long. He lived off what he caught. None of his grand kids though. Nope.
Been imagining myself leading the same way but the script of my life story how to live was completely different to what I want to be. Anyway, every one of us has a role to play in this great play on the stage of life.
Exactly what our heavenly father had in his plans for the people to live learning and loving the critters including moose to hunt and living off the land to survive and live healthy happy loving life ❤ 💕
" As soon as you get to town you'll smell the exhaust right away. " ~ Edna. This is so true! 💯 We live in a tiny cabin in the Colorado Rockies and when we go to town for supplies or doctor appointments you can TOTALLY smell the pollution, especially in Denver! 🤢 Our way of life can be rough and rugged but you just can't beat mountain living. 🌲
Long ago, 1996 I was introduced to these people by a National Geographic VHS tape titled surviving in Alaska. Their girls were tiny at the time. It was one of my most treasured tapes which I sadly lost. A decade ago I was quite surprised when I saw them again on a Vice documentary. Now I see them again, this time in a modern series. Hope to see them going strong in another decade. Good to know that these people I have never met but remember fondly are still out there.
This was one of the best ever tv shows. Great people, real life, no bullshit.
