Have been doing a lot of pre-build research on my TLR buggy being new to the hobby. In the manual all it says is 'partially tighten'. So I take this as meaning 'go away and do some research dummy'. So here I am and I must say a big thank you for this video, awesome guide. Not just a simple 'how to adjust video', but explains why it's there and shows the results of a poorly adjusted slipper. Nice one.
If they're on gravel it is really easy for sentiment and other little bits to get in between the spur gear cover and the motor plate. It is possible that something got up in there and fouled the works.
@murdamechanik You pretty well nailed it. That's exactly what can happen when a slipper is too loose. Just be very careful in that situation because the slipper plates, the motor mount and other items around that area will be super hot too!
@rcgflextilgodper I think there's supposed to be springs in the outdrive cups to keep the main driveshaft centered there, but not 100% sure as I don't have a Slash 4x4, sorry.
I always search for this man every time i need to learn something new about rc. Idk his name and just call him “Uncle RC” in my head. 😎 i would like his autograph for all that hes taught me.
So when you push the car away from u as soon as it starts to roll is that when you peg the gas or do you say when your about to push it cause I think it is the first way in which you push it and then give it has
I've noticed some peoples videos over the slipper clutch and theirs makes a high squeal pitch. On my ecx ruckus I installed the tazer 4000kv esc/motor combo and set the slipper correctly. My slipper doesn't make a squeal noise though, it does slip like it needs to though.
my pressure plate on my rustler vxl seized up yesterday. It happened after I installed a 11.1 lipo bat. I noticed that it wasn't doing any wheelies and acceleration wasn't that great. I drove the car over to me and the slipper clutch and shaft that it is on was smoking!! The motor was spinning the spur gear but the slipper wasn't spinning. Did I have it too loose and cause it to overheat???
Hi, Im running a 5.5t brushless (6000kv) and I was wondering how tight I should set it, If I make it slip like you said for 1 or 2 car lengths would it be too tight for the motor size?
Hi, im running a stock Traxxas Rustler xl-5 and im starting to ugrade it, but should i have the bolt and spring on my setup really loose or really tight? thanks
i run a xxx cr with 12 turn double and i use almost no slipper clutch cause the power that the motor has will just spin the clutch on the straights. throttle control is the key. i was just wondering about the slip distance on low traction surfaces when using a mod motor. it seems pointless to have a fast car with a slipper when you cant really use the power and the clutch simultaneously.
Mmmm I see... Exist any possible way to install a larger battery? I actually have a Dynamite 180 and was thinking to upgrade to a 300 mAh... But now I'm just thinking to install a larger pack by mounting it on the back of the body where is the sticker of the wheel... Anyway thanks for your answer :)
I need some help putting together the slipper cutch spur gear and pinion on the losi lst xxl2-e . The parts came with NO instructions from dollarhobbyz. Could you help? Thanks
You shouldn't be using the slipper for a traction aid. Especially on slick surfaces you'll never be able to set it loose enough to compensate for the low traction yet tight enough to not prematurely wear out the parts.
Ok good then I was doing it the right way I was just worried if I was doing something wrong I stripped the spur on blitz and I already went threw the first one so I need loosen that slipper

@1RCMASTER1 I believe the Jato's slipper is still located on the top shaft of the transmission so the adjustment process would be the same.
If you look at 6:10 you can clearly see the perch is on the inside (closest to the spur gear).
Great walk-through once again.
He's thinking "screw this slipper pad!" at 4:41 lol
If you use an MR3000 Marine receiver, yes.
A very informative video, thank you for the help

@fordyrox No, because it will have to be tighter with that much additional power.
excellent video.
Thanx for the video. Very usefull information ;)
Great video thanks for all the information. :)
Great Video.. Huge thanks.
Good video. Thanks.
sweet!
so if i ever try i can keep that familliar feel of my plane radio
Just at some point when it is rolling backwards hit the throttle.

iTzMeChucky That's more a function of the materials and how they interact with each other when slipping occurs.
Sure you're not hearing the diff barking?
Good one! 5* tip!
thanks
Cool

iz it possible to hook an rc car/boat up to a plane radio like a dx6i?
Its not a set setting, as it were. You need to experiment and see what tension gives you the best combination of slip and grip.
Why is the slipper perch on the inside upon removal but on the outside after you rput it back together?
how should I adjust the slipper on my losi mini rock crawler? like what would be perfect setting

If I loose the slipper clutch can be extended the battery life on a micro desert truck?
No, the slipper setting will have little, if any, effect on the battery life.

You could say louder but not clearer!!!!!
THANKSSSSS

I can't help as I don't have any experience with the E-Revo, sorry.
look at 6:58. does it go that way? or 6:10??? TY
6:24 ---> setting slipper on vehicle.
thumbs up for easy access.
I carnt pull wheelies slack my slipper. But I'm getting there.
mine keep slipping watever i do its not working lol
