Just bought this repeater to replace my area's broken repeater. thanks for the great explanation. i was really wondering about the DRDT stuff but this confirms for me that this will work amazingly for us. thanks
Hi and thanks for the nice Video. On which antenna runs the control TRX? There is the duplexer and the repeater antenna. For the control trx is there another Antenna necessary? Regards Alex HB9FND
I have such a repeater and I would like to set it (if possible) in dual mode or (only works locally and is not connected to other repeaters) to work YSF or FM. So if I have the station set to VW DN it works digitally, if I have FM and TSQ it works analog. Is this possible, and if so, how do I set it up? Currently, the repeater works only in FM mode.
depending on location of install. The control receiver N connector on the back of the repeater In a roof top repeater cabinet I ran a mag mount antenna and put it on top of the repeater cabinet. At a repeater tower where the repeater is on the bottom, I've used abandoned lines from the tower even if the antennas are failing or out of band. Does not take much to receive a signal for DTMF controls.
Hello sir .. in your example in channel B if I wish that the TX FREQUENCY in CHANNEL B will be the same as the TX frequency in channel A .. what mode will i use or can I use the same mode as control mode? thank you so much for this video
I have to be transparent I have only set up Channel "B" as a Control mode so therefore it only listens for DTMF commands to control the repeater (such as Enable, Disable, Fixed Digital, Auto mode, and power settings 50, 20, 5. With that the control mode I have always used the opposite band. For example If I set up the DR2X repeater as a VHF repeater such as 145.190 (-) The control receiver is set to a dedicated UHF simplex frequency. And with the ones i've used, i've only used analog DTMF settings. I am not terribly familiar with the digital option for control frequency.
thank you. i do apologize some of the screen would not focus on it.... if lights are up in the room i got glare... when darker, i got white wash. none the less. gets the basics across. and thanks for the comment

Good information. After reading the comments below I see most people don't have a clue. Thanks W5GIF
Hey Shannon this is ruffers I am three years behind you but I’m getting a DR-2x with the remote control board.
Part 97 rules were changed to allow 2 meter for control years ago.

DO YOU NEED TWO ANTENNAS ONE FOR REPEATER AND ONE FOR CONTROL FREQ
Great video
Thanks, helped on the initial setup!
