    You can turn the beep off in case you’re in a school or hospital or other quiet environment that you’re working in

    Thanks for the review. What’s odd, I am using the same exact unit and it seems to work fine on the hot side of an outlet or a wire but no where can I get it to light up on any wall switch like you are doing in this vid. Light switch on or off does it make any difference. A tool is brand new. ???

    I checked my a couple of my outlets with a cheap Ames & my hot side isn't glowing but my ground side - the left side, is. 🙁 But everything has been working with them for decades.

    How do you switch the bleep back on?

    • @MyProjectWeekend
      @MyProjectWeekend  2 года назад +3

      First turn the tester off. Then when you turn it back on be sure not to hold it for more than 2 seconds.

      Why is flashing red while your holding it not near a volt source

    • @MyProjectWeekend
      @MyProjectWeekend  2 года назад +4

      @@B.i.gDonk73 when it’s on the tip has a red light that blinks. The tip holds a solid red light when it detects a current.

    While using the tester to test current in a light fixture the red light oscillates, holds red for half a second then goes away, holds red for Half a second and goes away, what does this mean?

    • @MyProjectWeekend
      @MyProjectWeekend  Год назад

      I believe that’s the low battery indication. Try changing the batteries and see if it goes away. This is what the user manual says: “When the battery voltage drops below 2 volts VoltBeat provides a visual indication by stopping the VoltBeat flash. Replace with 2 AAA (LR3) batteries.” During normal operation it should have a double flash every 2 seconds. Change the batteries and let me know if that fixes it.

      Also now that I’m reading you question again it sounds like something different. Your saying it alerts, indicating there is current and then goes away? And then comes back?

      @@MyProjectWeekend yes sir that is correct. I’ll try flipping the breaker see if it works that way.

    but can you change the batteries?

      There's a tiny yellow button in the handle. Press that in and move the two sides apart to see the batteries.

      @@pitchforker3304 yes, that "press" is what I was hoping someone would comment on - my finger strength alone was not enough to separate it.

    Como hago para q vuelva a sonar?

    It isn't 100% accurate. Some light switch covers have to be removed to get a good reading. It always works perfect with outlets tho.
