In today's video, the Type R gets a MASSIVE HKS overhaul! Tons of parts that we really needed for the build gets installed today. We did the HKS Intercooler, Intercooler piping, and the HKS Oil cooler with all the bells and whistles! This car is going to RIP!

She going need retune before the event bro don’t forget retune / reflash and make sure u reset oil mileage / maintenance .. also make sure to flush coolant and add coolant additives to lower temps. 😎👍🏽 have fun.

I'm loving this build so far. I've never really been into the newer shaped civics, they've just never done it for me. Yours is really nice though and watching you race and build it has really been beneficial to my appreciation for the modern civics. Can't wait to see what's next with it.

Should of gotten a mishimoto intercooler.. I saw alot of problems with the hks with heat soak

AiM dash with LinkECU for management of engine and custom alerts. Reduce redline when issues occur kind of thing.

I have not played with this model Civic. But I have seen multiple of them on the internet have lifted the back of the hood, to help more of that hot air out of the engine bay. Latest one was drag racing on the Hoonigan channel. Something to maybe look into.
You should’ve heat wrapped ! Just to help a tiny bit more with cooling in the engine bay

Hope you're looking to get a vented hood. I never had any cooling issues with this car and vented hood was one of the first things I did before I put my HKS Intercooler in also. A mate who runs almost the same power mods and tune as I without a vented hood had cooling issues the last track day.

Save that HKS stencil, you'll need it later on after it fades and rock chips to redo it.

Make sure and read up on oil viscosity for the track as most people use a thicker oil on track and normal for daily driving.

Thanks for the tip, but obviously… it’s not my first time going to the track.
There have been multiple tests with 5w30 and it’s shown there’s no reason to swap from the 0w20 on the FK8.

You need a mini HKS stencil for the oil cooler 👌
Would it make a difference if you heat wrap the intercooler piping? I know it's for exhaust to keep the heat in but would it help in the small places to keep the heat off the intercooler pipe?

Can someone tell me if the si transmission is the same as type r? 2018 car
looks so good
The cargo space is one of my favorite parts about the FK8, a track car with space
Would recommend to upgrade the throttle body coupler as those are know to deteriorate on the FK8 and also recommend to use 5W30 oil if you’re gonna track. 0W20 would look like water after track.
For additional cooling modifications, consider getting a larger grill (J's Racing Front Sports Grill) and perhaps a hood with functional heat extraction vents. This makes a huge difference for FK-8's.
Need a bigger rad now too.

Tranny oil cooler vented carbon hood will help run the car cooler as well and offsets the added weight. Love the HKS mods.
Nice build. But, have you just figured to drive and learn the car before modding so, you can enjoy and appreciate the engineering characteristics of the type r? I think this way you’ll start to quickly identify the differences as you add or remove parts.
Doesn’t take long to get used to the car I mean mans has a lot of seat time. Most of the mods he’s done is for cooling anyways to help mitigate heat soak
