    Hi! I have a Big Dog Hot Dog Cart. The opposite side has a chilled condiment station for customers. I'm thinking of taking the two propane cylinders out of the bottom of the cart and put them on the outside. But the only space for them is beneath that chilled condiment station. Any thoughts?

    • @therealboondoggie
      @therealboondoggie  2 года назад +2

      Here in CA we can’t really use the condiment station for anything other than white onions. I say get yourself a San Jamar roll top condiment tray and use that space for your tanks if you feel that’s more practical. I do everything I do to increase speed of service. Having tanks on board and secure saves me time.

    You can get tabletop bun steamers so you don't have to keep shuffling around those buns.

    Great job! Do you add the toppings and condiments or do you leave that to the customer? Thanks for sharing.

    • @therealboondoggie
      @therealboondoggie  3 года назад +4

      It depends on the event, typically with high volume we have our customers do their own, and especially now with COVID requiring packets, instead of community condiments. But sometimes we bring our serving bottles and put it on for them, if we know we’re not going to have long lines.

    • @MacDaddysDawgz
      @MacDaddysDawgz 3 года назад +3

      @@therealboondoggie Depends on the State code, here in NC we have to put all the toppings on and serve the dogs wrapped. I do have packs of mayo and hot sauce on the table for customers to put it on themself, but when I see the inspector walk up I hide them lol. I'm in the Raleigh area of Wake County NC and they are tuff inspectors.

    • @therealboondoggie

      I’d love to hear their reasoning for that one. Lots of rules, and not too much common sense these days.

    • @MacDaddysDawgz
      @MacDaddysDawgz 3 года назад +1

      @@therealboondoggie It's actually in our code here in NC, when we serve the dog everything has to be on it and wrapped before we hand it to the customer. No self serve from a push cart .. so no extra condiments available for them to self serve. Our push cart laws haven't been updated since 1957 so they are still the bicycle wheel push cart carts, not what we got now!

    Hello!! I have a question about the top of your cart meaning the canopy. Did it come like that, or did you have it added on? I want to add one on mines. Also, your burner system. what is that called? I purchased a system with a similar fire station, and I need help. I want to make sure it's up to date but I don't know what's it called to ask for help.

    • @therealboondoggie
      @therealboondoggie  Год назад

      The canopy came in tact, we were very lucky.. although you could get one made at a canvas shop maybe.
      The burner is just a u shape bbq burner.

    hi, howmuch would a cart like this cost roughly to purchase?

    • @therealboondoggie
      @therealboondoggie  3 года назад +3

      I bought this Cart for $2700... but by the time it was operational we had about $5,000 into it. We could have done it for about $1,000 less if we needed to, but I splurged on a few things.
