      Aren't the Havs just wonderful? Please give yours a lot of love, gentle loving training, and keep him/her on a leash when outside, so he/she won't run to greet people or other dogs (they are SO sociable and loving!), and maybe get hurt. Get a vet who is v v knowledgable about toy breeds specifically, and Havs in particular.

    All dogs are awesome and lovely, but there's something about Havaneses that makes them soooo special and adorable. I'm always so happy seeing a dog outside or at the office, but when it's a Havanese I'm kind of obsessed. They are like the sweetest. 😍

      The properly bred Havanese pup will be naturally loving, funny, affectionate,. and VERY attached to their people. They also love kind, friendly, gentle strangers who are introduced carefully -- the ones they meet on a walk, for instance, or who come to your door. (If you want to see the face of a truly darling, smart, and v v loving Hav, just look at the round icon I use.) :-) ...

    There are a lot of things our havanese puppy does that took very little to teach or no teaching at all..both sit and lay all I had to do is put my hand on her behind 2 times and she had sit command mastered ....lay only took 4 times. Stand with paws up in the air that we call "hallelujah" only took once to teach. She started to pick up stuff off the floor and bring to us ( only things she didn't put on the floor herself) with no training...she just started doing it , all I have to do is point to something on the floor/ ground and she will bring it to us unless its one of her toys and she wants to play.
    Rollover only took telling her to lay then passing a treat across the front of her nose to teach her.
    Didn't have to teach " kisses" just point and say kiss or kisses is all it took to get a good nudge on the cheek or sometimes eye/eyebrow.
    Floored me when I figured out her picking stuff up on her own.....my wife is severely disabled and when I came in from outside one day( puppy was only a couple months old) she was sitting on my wife's foot rests looking up at my wife with her tail wagging . Wife said she was sitting there for about 20 minutes. I looked at her and noticed she had something shiny in her mouth. I put my hand in front of her mouth and she dropped one of my wife's rings in my hand that had came off and fallen on the floor.
    Smartest and most loving pet I've ever owned by fat. She goes everywhere with us and unless I get her down she sits or lays on my wife's lap or on the back of her neck and on the wheelchair headrest at all times( wife can't hold her head upright all the way).
    She always sleeps with us and always has her head laying on one of ours, switching from one to the other a couple times every night.
    She wakes me up every morning by laying on me and gently taking her paw and hitting my face.
    Have a little bell on our home and camper door that she picked up on her own that all she has to do is ring the bell to let is know she needs to go out to do her business which she always does in the same area.....makes cleanup easy.
    When we get ready to go somewhere she quickly learned when we say "go bye bye" that she needs to do her business before getting on my wife's lap.
    She is now only 10 months old and can do more than every pet put together that I've owned and I even had a rabbit that would gives kisses on your forehead and go on walks ( with a leash) with us....had a talking catfish in our aquarium that if I moved my hand in front of the glass while it was looking it would talk/bark. Had a white lab German Shephard mix dog that would grab its chain/leash and move it out of the way of young kids when outside playing.
    Horses, pot belly pigs, goats. Etc.
    So me saying this havanese puppy is smart is an understatement.

      Havs will dance on their own ... but do hold one paw at least when one comes at you, dancing, so they don't hurt themselves. Our Havs dance every time we come home, even if we've just popped out to the store.

    • @dianacambridge38
      @dianacambridge38 2 года назад

      @@emily9155 I'm sincerely happy you got one of these very special and precious dogs! :-) Your Hav is doing exactly what comes naturally to her. Please do hold her front paws as soon as she'll let you, to give her support and steadiness. Havanese do love to dance, but it isn't always the safest and healthiest things to let them do too much.

      You are going to LOVE him! We have two now and besides having very different personalities, the things they have in common with other Havanese that we've met -- they love their families and are very attached. They need LOTS of attention and they love, love, love to learn. We have put them in classes, gotten tricks books and there are tons of vids on youtube how to train them to do things. So they definitely need some kind of stimulation or they get bored. Have so much fun with him!!!

    • @jordanpeakofficial
      @jordanpeakofficial 4 года назад

      Asha Mevlana do you use treats when training tricks with them?? My family has just got one and my brother says you shouldn’t use treats when training them to do tricks but i thought this would be counter intuitive

    • @dianacambridge38
      @dianacambridge38 2 года назад +1

      @@jordanpeakofficial ... omg ... of COURSE one uses treats to train, and reward a dog. The pro trainers call the treats necessary for initial training a High-Value Treat. Like, small bits of cooked chicken (no bones, nothing tough or Choke-Prone!) , or v mild cheese ... tiny cubes, but big enough so doggy can taste and enjoy it. Or, one of the v small little treats that one gets at the Pet Store. I know one thing for sure -- your brother knows very little about doggies. Do a bit of googling to get answers, and just smile and stay quiet when you hear counter-intuitive things like what he said. I hope your Hav is doing very well, and is loved and treated beautifully. They are VERY special doggos.

    Sad to see that dancing and such is done at so low age. The bones and body is not made for this at such young age. They can get problems later in life due to stresses at young age. Would you have your kid do full bodybuilding at age of 3?
