I have been using Surface Pro 6 since May 2019 and I appreciate its size and form factor. I had bought a Surface Pen with it but have used it very sparingly. I hope your series helps me to utilize the Surface Pen Finally. Love your work. Keep up the Good Work!
Got my first samsung s-pen on my note8. Didn't realize how useful and helpful it would be. My mind being all over the place and losing paper note the second I put them away. The samsung note was a live safewere. But getting the pro X, got it to a new level with the Microsoft office/pro x and note 20u working together..
I take miscellaneous notes and sometimes do bits of math on my Galaxy Note10 smartphone. I've been doing that since the first Galaxy Note came out. Once you try it, it's hard to go back to a regular smartphone.
I teach drawing. I've been using the surface book 1 and now two, to teach In my classes. It's nice to have a portable device that you can draw and see your hand writing or drawing on screen. Thanks for your videos. They really help me discover new stuff to use with the pen other than just drawing
Very good video. I find I use my pen on multiple devices to also replace my mouse or equivalent. Note taking and other tasks is so easy today with how tech has evolved. This video reminded me how I have been also using digital pens since the late 70s early 80s myself when they were truly in infancy 😃😶🤣
I'm really looking forward to your series! I've been taking digital notes since 2014 (on a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.5 2014 edition), switched to Surface in 2015, and never looked back. As a graduate student and educator I intuitively know the power of handwritten notes and hand-drawn diagrams, especially when we're talking about symbol- and graph-intensive subjects like math and economics. I encourage all my students to take handwritten notes, I have banned typing on laptops in class (or at least, I did until Covid - and there are many reasons laptops in class are bad), and I even teach using digital ink (usually some combination of PowerPoint and OneNote and maybe a PDF or two).
Pen devices aren't the mainstream even though they've been available for decades. I wonder why that is; most 2-in-1's have pen support, yet few users buy pens. Ultrabooks and typical notebooks aren't great for pen usage because of the limited screen angle.
I think one issue is that paper is instantly on - it's just there and you take out your pen and write on it. A PC has to wake up and have a certain app open to write out your notes. That's one reason instant-wake functionality on mobile OS devices, and "always connected" features on PC's, are so important.
I am trying starting inthe digital writting world. I am not sure how it will be. My hope is I will get used to it soon. Lets see. I will let you know. Looking to buy my first writting laptop, Microsoft Surface x Pro sq2.....
Great video, looking forward to watching each video. Being a pen user (both surface and apple) to draw with for many years, note-taking has been a new learning experience for me. I actually prefer the Surface Pen to draw with over the apple pencil.
I Don't have a surface pen to my SB2 13.5" dGPU vers. but I do have pens for both my Porsche Books. Its a Porsche pen with 4096levels. made by Wacom as I recall... as all the third-party and radial dials are Wacom's interface and labels.. that magnetic sit on the sides..but I dotn draw, so its mostly just as a mouse as thinsg are quite small on these 7mm 13.5 tablets with 3k screen and +500nits..
Great videos about tablet computing. One question though regarding OneNote. I don't know if I'm losing my Creative Edge or something but are there any websites or RUclips videos you might recommend for learning how to use all the bells and whistles inside of OneNote. like how to add pictures and written artwork to notes et cetera? I see some of your videos and wonder how does he put these great note pages together
@@oztabletpc Yes. Thanks. They have been helpful. Are there any other resources online you can recommend to really be proficient and productive in OneNote. I'd like to take your training but I live in New York Usa.
Excellent series. I have been telling people about this for long time. Here ia one help i need. I am sure you can guide. I have a 2 yr old pro6. Excellent tablet still and i don't think i shd be upgrading just because of type c. I want to use 2 full monitors (both as seperate screens) and use my surface as note taking. Is their any way it is possible?
@@oztabletpc thanks. Does that gives 2 independent displays? I bought one usb 3.0 adapter but that was giving mirror images. Also, will i be able to take notes on surface when it is connected to hub? I maybe asking too much but a video of thia would be awesome. You did made one video little while back where you suggested external webcam. But do web have alternatives of dock 2? That cost around 180usd
I bought a surface pro 7 last spring. Best purchase ever. Teaching Math online is so much easier with the pen and Microsoft One Note.
Strongly agree!

I love using the Surface pen on my Duo - total gamechanger for me!

Also, OneNote now syncs across mobile and PC very well, and Samsung Notes and Windows Sticky Notes sync with OneNote!

True. The benefits are not obvious to most, and change is not easy.

Think of the pen as a thinking tool, not necessarily a drawing tool. It's very important no matter what device you use it on.

@@ronbarton7799 Sure, look up Heather Severino's courses on LinkedIn Learning.
Hey Bret, are you still using your Surface Studio? If so, when and how?
Yes, every day for the last 12 months. It is on my desk as my main device. Still love the big 3:2 screen.
After looking the thumbnail I thought you are Fat32 version of Harry Potter. 🤣🤣🤣.

Sure, there are lots of ways to do that. The easiest would be to get a Surface Dock.

So there's no scientific/technical explanation here?
