The main issue I have as a result of us signing Estevao isn't to do with him at all, he's one of the best talents around and are certified baller. The issue is if we knew we wanted this guy and have scouted him for over a year now why did we sign players like Angelo/Deivid Washington? Thats where the stockpiling and wasted funds becomes a problem. If we were just signing players of the calibre of Kendry/Estevao I'd be praising the board from the rooftops because thats how big clubs act

We r moaning about signing top tier talent yet madrid have signed Endrick and want to sign mastantuono 17yrs at river plate player. We have to do what madrid did with rodrygo n vini when they came. They played for their second team and were promoted to 1st team squad after 1 year.
But they are real madrid. Their youth always have all-time greats to learn from. If we had hazard kante azpi…ect by all means, but we don’t. We gutted our team without making the next generation. Rn we need proper experienced players not more youth in the same position .

Good video although a little negative. I believe that 90% of the signings we’ve made under the new Sporting Directors are very exciting. The first summer window under Boahly was a bit of a train wreck but since then, Palmer, Gusto, Madueke, Hutchinson, Santos, Petrovic to name a few. There are some real gems there. Even Cucu is coming good now, and we’ve yet to see anything from Nkunku or Fofana.
But one thing I implore you to get right as you talk about Messinho is the pronunciation of his name.
‘Estevao’ is Portuguese for ‘Stephen’. My girlfriend is Brazilian/Italian and always points me in the right direction on Latin language pronunciation.
Phonetically it’s ESS-STE-VOW-N.(where STE sounds like the first part of ‘STEP’. You are putting an ‘O’ at the end which is completely wrong. In Portuguese when you have ‘AO’ at the end of a word it usually sounds as ‘OW-N’

I dont see this as stock piling:
1) Top clubs need a top bench . Madrid have vini and rodrygo ,they are still going for mbappe . City had grealish, they still bought doku .
2) All these players are young but the amount of age gap between them is gigantic . Like estevao is 17 and noni and palmer are 22 that's like 5 years gap meaning 2029/2030 season . So everyone calm down it will take a long time for all of them to come in and integrate.
3) However much we like them not everyone makes it at the top level .
4) Don't forget Chelsea FC is also a business so all these players who are not Top tier quality will be sold for profits to get even better players .

Chelsea have created more pro footballers in the last 20 years than any other English club academy . true. imo, it won't make a difference. even in this new system, Palmer still plays that inverted RW role (if you saw his heat map from his 2 previous games), but now this system allows to roam around, and he play any position he wants. he can crash the box, drop deep, connect the midfield with the attack, this system suits Palmer to a T. perfect for him. it allows him to have that Eden Hazard role where he can do whatever he wants (not comparing Hazard to Palmer btw).
Yeah I’m with you on that one bro. I like Palmer playing in the “middle” (cuz as you said, he’s still spending more time on the rw than a typical no.10). I also feel if we were to stick with the current system, a left footed LW would probably be effective still since the primary idea of a winger when playing with an inverted fullback is to stay wide rather than cut inside. Problem is, I doubt Poch could figure out how to make a left footed LW work and get the best out of them. Oh well, we’ll see. I’m happy to be proven wrong in that regard.

The only one that can play LW there better and actually shoot is Omari. Paez CAM or the position Odegaard plays. Palmer and Madueke you know. It's actually impossible to make all of them work.
Its not stock piling, its the reality of top level sport. Its survival of the fittest, all these players get a lifetime opportunity to sign for chelsea and cream rises to the top. Madueke and mudryk have years on the younger players and a few seasons to establish themselves, if they dont do so theres someone ready to take the spot.
This point I like, the only issue is politics. Even if they do smash it. The likelihood is like the manager has said “I have to play names” if you want to make “profit” on wonderkids they have to play. Which means Mudryk and Madueke have to be benched regardless of what they do
@matissearmani you're right about the politics which is a shame but at the end of the day I truly believe if any player is playing at the world class level like Palmer is they'll keep their spot and that's the level we need at every position at Chelsea. If not they have the choice to be a squad player or leave. We need to remember most of the players these owners are buying will never have a career at Chelsea as sad as it is. They're assets that we'll look to increase value on and move on, but it's up to each player to show that they deserve to play at Chelsea when given the chance.

voice of reason. There has to be a pathway to these talented young players otherwise they will never develop properly, and they will never fulfil their potential. There is a world of difference between a talented 17 or 18 year old and an established first team player, it often takes 3-4 years even for the most talented young players in the world to feel established in a first team environment. Throw in a new country, new league and it's very difficult. Not sure what the strategy is here, Chelsea spending on these very young players limits what they can spend on the 1st team too.
I agree to buying these talents young and cheap. Out of 3, one might pay off. I don't believe these 18 years old will come straight into the chelsea first team. They should be loaned to smaller clubs in portugal and germany where they'll play regularly and with freedom and away from the pressures from the English press.
When they hit 20/21 years old, they can then be integrated into the first team of chelsea like hazard. By that time we would have made up our minds about the current crop of potentials we already have in the club like Madueke, mudryk, ugochukwu, etc.
If profi making is the goal, these players stocks will definitively rise to the roof while playing in germany and portugal.

Matisse another thing thats crucial that the board is overlooking is team chemistry. Madueke may not be generational but has played with Palmer for long (nationally). Seeing that Poch likes Madueke and seems to be developing him well and by the time the generational talents come, he may just have a level of understanding with Palmer and James/Gusto that its difficult to replace him.

Big up Matisse, sometimes it seems like you're the only sane chelsea fan. I despise the amount of shopping Chelsea did and still is doing but i feel for you as a fan. You have no choice than to back the players coming in and hope for the best. Even tho you feel and know that the soul is slowly dripping out. You see it on the pitch on a weekly base, the players dont play for eachother they play for themselves. They play to get their value up.. Chelsea cant do what Brighton and Benfica do. Those clubs are successful at generating talent because they arent at the pinnacle of the game, players still view them as a stepping stone. When a talent breaks through, they are sold to a bigger team which creates space for the next talent to develop. Chelsea are still up in the pinnacle of clubs so we could only viably sell talents to rival clubs, meaning we would be developing talents for our competition to use to beat us.
