This game is not real you made it up
Google seems to agree with you.
is Rata [RANK10YGO]ing time!!!!!!
Satan could possibly Weep
Beelzebub might Bawl
Lucifer should sob
Mephistopheles would mald
As my devil gently weeps
Demon might shriek
3:02 such a great ice breaker when meeting girls at the bar
💀💀💀
Realistically who wouldn't fall for that.
Every time I hear "The Sword of YEE" I think about that damn meme dinosaur
As you should. Also
Yee.
Yee
yee
I think of Hou Yi or the chinese character for righteousness, Yi, but I'm not american with my brain fried by 'lol le memes'
My god the year is 2024, it feels like that meme was 10 yeats ago
Eyyy, I loved that one
In my head it was always “Onimusha at home”, but that works too
DMC1's combat was inspired by Onimusha
i thought the same thing
Soki but got stranded in Red Grave City
@@cajs9964 I mean
Both are kinda rooted to Resident Evil as well
@@snailthelostcow63yup, but you have no guns in Onimusha, DMC1 is like a 50% hack and slash and a 50% shooter, even the final boss has a shoot em up phase
1:36 Woah, I completely forgot this Transformers game existed, you just unlocked memories of playing PS2 demo discs from deep within my subconscious.
Clearly @Cvit will now have to do an "all transformers games retrospective" series after this ps2 DMC adjacent series.
The only transformers game I played was the beast wars game that I’m pretty sure was for the original PlayStation. I think it was just a tekken clone or something.
Outside of the holy TF trinity of the Cybertron duology and Devastation, there is another trinity of forgotten ones: the PS2 shooter, the Wii rail shooter by Next Level, and the GBC Beast Wars fighting game.
There's a transformers game has real dmc combat it was on all systems around 2013 maybe
The Armada game is GOAT status, especially The Tidal Wave section/boss
Honestly van helsing was the most DMC1 feeling game I tried on the list by a long shot.
Entertaining film tie-in.
Better than the film.
Yeah. At least its copying a good format like DMC1 @lucascoval828
@@HunterForHire422
Oh yeah.
Also had a Castlevania-like atmosphere.
It literally copies the control layout, too.
@@NucleaRaptor
If it works, it works.
😎
Not even three minutes in and I'm dying laughing at seeing the words "Dragon Penetralia" on the save file screen.
If i had a metal band i would name it that
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Collected The Swords of Ye
For a game at home, it doesn't look as bad.
Staying home isnt bad after all.
The Bujingai music at the start of the video is so good.
Got into that game after watching your video, what a hidden gem. Had to pick up a copy for my collection!
I also have Cvit to thank for this. Had to grab a copy during 2020 and had a good time, excluding the platforming
Yessss! This was my first ever PS2 game, I've been waiting for you to cover this one, thank you!!!
Edit: at 19:32 you mention the "level infinite" enemies, actually they are just lvl 100, but the game for some reason cannot handle three digit numbers for enemy lvl, this also works for weapon durability, so if u manage to get 100 copies of any enemy weapon it will never break, maybe this was intended for weapons only but idk.
The air combat could really benefit from the Kingdom Hearts floatiness! A lava level in those games would be almost trivial given how easy it is to travel while airborne in those games.
Fun fact about GARO: the show it's based on released another season as early as last month and published it on their official YT channel with English subtitles. It's good stuff.
Thats a different continuity though
@@thatonedan7780 Indeed! I do miss the original Kouga-verse, but Ryuga really grew on me over the seasons.
Man, it was a surprise to see this in my subscription feed. I haven't thought about this game in a LOOOONG time. "Sword of Destiny" was the first PS2 game I ever played on a borrowed console. But after seeing this video I remembered why I didn't beat this game. The camera made me feel sick. The game was "fine", but even looking at your gameplay made me feel a bit dizzy (probably just my subconscious having PTSD).
Anyway, that was a great video. I hope one day you cover Chaos Legion. That game is SO underrated.
Ps: I used to call this game "Sword of Latino" since the protagonist looks like a guy at my local store here in Argentina.
The protag's default look reminds me of Kazuma Kiryu's look from Infinite Wealth.
U mean Joryu?
@@grhp4610 Nah dude, that's another guy entirely. Don't mix them up like that, they don't even look the same.
@@elpizo1789 you maybe right..
in brazil i got a copy of this game from a fair store and had it in the back logo : feito pelos criadores de god of war , made by the creators of god of war
Dos mesmos criadores de Bom de Guerra
@@FredyGarbagis sem tiração mo nada a ver nunca joguei as missao secundaria pq eu nao sabia ingles na epoca kkkkkkkkkkkkkk
You should make a video on Transformers PS2. Not only is it amazing compared to Melbourne’s Men In Black 2 game from a year prior, it’s also an absolute technical marvel for the system.
I had this game as a kid. Then i lost it around the house and never found it again. Finally after years of research i can sign this off my "games I'm sure existed yet never found anything about it" list.
Yo man, I love this series, I've already watched everyone you made about those ps2 character action games
Dang this game hasn't been acknowledged by its existence, that not even Google couldn't find any results for its existence. Appreciate that you made everyone know that this game exists.
He's heavily exaggerating. There's plenty of results if you just look up "Sword of Destiny PS2 game."
Me waiting for your Hi-Fi Rush review: 💀
For what ?
@@Drannos99 why not?
God that'd be a great video
@@JonnyHorseman because its only some months old and there so many Reviews already Out for it?
Why do you need a Review of a "new Game" some Months after Release ? Nobody Cares about IT anymore.
A Review of it in 20 Years would be better
@@Drannos99 what difference does its age make? I like CVITs videos and I'm interested enough in hearing what he liked or disliked about it
I dont see why it being almost a year old is an issue
I remember seeing this game several times in a bin at a local shop, and I was curious about it, but never got around to buying it. Good to see that I didn't miss out on some forgotten classic.
I have owned this game for years but the first person I’ve ever seen who has talked about it great video!
hell yeah, love to see a new cvit vid in the sub box
The PS2 period will always be my favorit era of gaming, from 14 to 18 i did play alot on it ❤
So i really love this channel 💯
Tutorials were rare cause mostly that info was in the manual back in the day! Dont know with this game specifically tho! Great content, Thanks!
For sure thought this was going to be Chaos Legion. It was also a character action game by Capcom, and important for me back in the day, was Teen rated so my parents didn't confiscate it. So pretty much exactly "DMC at home."
Waiting for it to be covered, maybe one day I'll get up to finally finishing CL.
Its barely like DMC at all
If anything its pre-V DMC5
There's been a few other games with a form of "summoner" combat, aside from Chaos Legion and DMC5 V. May be interesting to check out:
- Folklore
- Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom (mayhaps)
- Astral Chain
Chaos Legion is weirdly well known nowadays, mainly for the Capcom/DMC connection. Always felt more like Dynasty Warriors to me though.
holy shyieet. i finally found the game i've been trying to remember back when i was a kid
you should cover van hellsing ps2 game, its practicaly dmc1 at home too
this is crazy, i actually been digging through every ps2 game i could ever find and never seen it not even the box art
The transformers armada ps2 game holds up surprisingly well, if you ever do go back and play it.
It’s definitely a lot easier than I remembered it as a kid, that’s for sure.
Honestly, the way the swords are stored is extremely cool
Two Cvit videos in one week? Nice!
The disappearing missions bit reminds me of disappearing quests in Fable the Lost Chapters, when you come to the guild after killing the Giant Wasp and it had like 2 or 3 quests for the ice level but you can't take them because your fame is to low and you never see those quests again
2 cvit bangers in a week we're fine dining. Thank you for the video oomfy
Love the transition sound effects
Damn man, all these obscure PS2 games I'm just now finding out about. The PS2 was amazing!
1:31 missed yee opportunity
i remember playing this game, found it by accident in a store, was an ok game (hey i still remember it after more than 14 years), i still remember the Eureka moment when i finally understood the swords mechanic of the game.
I recorded this for a longplay channel a few years back, hated it when I played it but over the years I still somehow remember it so I guess they did something right. One thing I would recommend is searching a hack that is basically a translation transfer to the JP version, menus are (or were the last time I checked) still in Japanese but the story is translated and the gameplay runs correctly in 60 hz. The game is still jank but the annoying delay present in the PAL version is gone and it feels a bit more responsive
Great content as always
Yo the Trasnformer Game for ps2 was one of the best experiences I got on that gen
yo i loved that ps2 transformers game as a kid with way to much free time and a small library of games it was great getting all the different bots to change your skills
Looking forward to seeing your take on Knight's Contract. Feel like that is a proper DMC3 or 4 at home.
Okay, that wing sword scabbard is *incredibly* cool. Definitely stealing that for an OC or something.
Be sure to experiment with variations on wing styles too! Perhaps you can make it a thing where different cultures or settlements utilize different designs.
I loved Chaos Legion and Genji growing up
Wow
A game so obscure even backlogged (basically the game version of myanimelist/anilist) only has a placeholder page for it with no release date , much less a wikipedia page
Apparently this is from the save devs as Blue Dragon and The Last Story
Love hearing you talk about the most unknown action games ever made, keep it up with these videos
The PS2 gen truly was the peak for stylish action releases
The thumbnail I thought it's kazuma kiryu with drip and sword lmao,he low-key looks like him
did you make a video separately somewhere in your channel about chaos legion?
I saw you mention it and show it in this video got me wondering if you did cover it. would like to watch it
Waiting for that Stranger of Paradise followup video since it lived up to the hype as underrated kino.
I have a question, in terms of fromsoft games: will you ever cover the Otogi games? They seem like they'd be right up your alley!
Wow it really is. The Playstation 2 was such a mysterious and magical box.
You'd think that Level Infinity would be a mechanic that would be explained somewhere but with so little information on the game online I'd imagine that this is something only a few people even know about from the most obscure of PlayStation action games!
I really appreciate your video's names
That ps2 transformers game w/ rag doll physics looks dank. The movie game was pretty good
Funilly i was trying to remember this game a while ago… i played it at around 2008
I was sincerely hoped you’d covered that game. 🎉
Thanks for the sharing, one more underrated game for me to beat and probably get pissed lol.
Hey Cvit! Was wondering do you plan covering Castlevania: Lament of Innocence / Curse of Darkness at some point?
Honestly this sold me on Shinobi more than anything
OMG i have the PAL version. never thought i'd see this game again
the first genji was a goat underated as hell
1:39 that is really good graphics for a ps2 game.
I really hope you do a video on EDF one day maybe in 5 years but ill wait
Yo Is that Diego from Yakuza at 17:26 in billboard 😂
Are you planning to make more Yugioh videos? Those are your best work by far
This game was fire and crazy underrated
those silent hill menu noises, ambatakum 😩
"From the people who played Devil May Cry"
12:10
Oh boy, don't remind me of that. I still remember the first boss fight with the dragon where the timing was so bad I spent 15-20 minutes whittling down its health, like I was cutting through tank armor with a butter knife. Worst of all, the blasted thing wasn't even hard as you yourself no doubt figured.
No wonder this game is deep web levels of obscure.
This video was excellent, really cool find.
FFXIV video when
Beelzebub Kinda Sobs
I just started playing Castlevania Curse of Darkness and that mechanic of the lockon turning red is like how stealing works there and seems just as obnoxious.
At the very least you're not just staring at an enemy or trying to force perfect guards, waiting for the opportunity to steal their favorite nickel.
Edit: Realizing I spoke way too soon.
Sword of Destiny featuring Blinx the Time Sweeper from the BLiNX series
Can you take a look at this PS2 classic?
Nightshade (2003). it might have the same feel as the Shinobi game
Could you do a review of Code age commender?
Square Enix marketed it as a RPG but it barely has any RPG elements.
In gow 1 you can skip the animation lock by pressing the triangle for a shorter time .
I'm playing the 360 Onechanbara rn idk if you've heard about that series
You must try Genji: Dawn of the Samurai, heavily underrated.
This kinda reminds me of the “Gackt” hack n slash game
Have you played Way of the samurai pretty good time tbh
You've unlocked my painful and nauseating memories of this game.....
Chaos Legion 0:11 and Genji: Dawn of The Samurai 0:18 are some of the PS2 action games of all time, you even get to fight a biblically accurate angel in both of them.
Do you emulate all these ps2 games. Or do you prefer real hardware coupled with a CRT?
HOLY SHIT I had this game! I sucked so hard at it I had to put it down, but completely forgot the name of it after years
nice video as always
i gotta play this game it looks amazing.
My boy kiryu in the cover.
2:54 this makes me wonder why static/electricity is the go-to signifier of paralysis. Wonder what game did it first?
This is the game i thought i made up, idk why but i remember him having a mask
You should do a review of Wanted: Dead!
onimusha mentioned
I know I'm slow, but I still don't get the whole counters at sword time system.
so this wasn't a fever dream, i can't belive this actualy real
Nice cosplay, Joryu.
I thought this was the *other* Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams because the main guy looks just like Soki
Another upload after a week?! Are we approaching the end times?
pretty badass actually
For tomorrows joe!
