- Helene has caused major devastation across the Southeast since it made landfall in Florida as a Category 4 hurricane. It is responsible for at least 55 deaths, and over three million customers remained without power Saturday. Jason Allen reports from Keaton Beach, Florida.

Exactly. There were 1,300 deaths during Katrina. Helene is a disaster, just as is any hurricane. But to call it biblical is nothing short of political.

My parents in New Port Richey lost everything...we thought we were fine 1am I woke everybody up got us out..everybody laughs about my jacked up truck it saved my family . They lost everything

Hurricanes Joyce and Isaac forming right now. Joyce is forming right where Helene formed. Next week might be a repeat of this

It sounds like a good joke until you realize that some people are dependent on medical equipment that requires electricity to live, and that some people are completely unable to contact relatives and friends to tell them they’re okay (and vice versa)

If I knew nothing about the candidates, other than Kamala Harris believes in the thread of climate change, and Donald Trump, in 2024, still believes, climate change is a hoax, I would obviously vote for Kamala Harris. It’s so many in the red states which often suffer the most under hurricanes vote against their own self interest for clowns like Donald Trump. In the run up to the election in the media must focus on voting for the one of two candidates who lives in the real world, and believes that climate change is real and must be addressed.
