  • In this episode, Join chef Mike Robinson as he ventures into the Scottish hills of magical mystical Skye to cull Red Deer Hinds, with Scott Mackenzie. Scott, from Hotel Eilean Iarmain on the beautiful Isle of Skye champions deer management and dedicates much of his year to managing a healthy herd on the Isle. After the stalking, return to the beautiful Hotel nestled on the shore to enjoy red deer stew by a crackling log fire.

    Stalking Scottish reds is definitely on my bucket list ! I’m going to have to get it booked ready for the beginning of hind season

    A thinning cull / selective stalking , is a better prospect than an overall population cull where everything is removed to control the population going out of control , good job. The Scottish highlands and Islands are rugged and the deer can certainly get into numbers beyond being healthy for the land they are on.
