Great to see someone doing a video on these. I’ve been on the fence about buying them for years.
And yes, we are all used to the big price tag on Festool, but I would argue that this is different.
Basically they sold us a wobbly table, and then charge a premium for correcting that mistake.
I still might buy them, but I’m not going to be happy about it 😄

😂 ..you are right! It took me months to decide to buy theses, but I will say once you put them on you will never take them off.
I am going to call out Festool in the coming year over stuff not being fit for purpose

Great review mate. Would like to see a demo on how well the stabilisers work with you using the table with and without them, a real view into what they can do.

If you aren't moving around, just fold the legs and put it on a proper bench - properly stable and with extensive storage underneath.

That’s just what my plan is, as soon as I can get a workshop

Please people don’t bring price as an argument against Festool. We know they’re too expensive. Just tell us if they are good or not. So thank you for this review :)

For workshop use I think it better to build a mobile base cabinet with locking castors
    Just my opinion
    But like you
    I do like my festool

You’re right, that’s definitely my plan for the future when I get a workshop, and great idea for a video

Good idea. But then you do not need the legs. Or the frame. So just buy the top. Big saving. Better still, make the top- out of baltic ply. MUCH better.

Mike M I still keep the legs
Just folded and kept in place with blocks
That way I can still use it on site

Good review. These legs though should be part of the original purchase of the MFT table.

Thanks for the video. The Festool MFT is a great tool. I was thinking of the stabilising legs too but had different ideas. My improvement was to fasten it at the wall and now it does'nt move at all. If I ever want to take it elsewhere for flexibility only two bolts have to be taken off. Price: 10-15 Euros

Perfect idea, when I get a workshop I’m doing that too

This is as silly as Milwaukee drawers only coming with dividers for 1 stinking drawer.

😂you’re right, they just don’t want to shock us with the price they really want to charge

They should be included with the table for no extra charge. Without them, the table is as wobbly as a newborn calf and extremely annoying.

I have a lot of festool tools including the kapex but I don’t see the cost in the mft. That table should come with the legs or beef it up so you don’t need them. I opted for a folding ply table with a mr mdf top. I’m now going ahead and making a bigger one. Great review though

You are right, it’s too expensive

Yes they are worth it and you don't have to be doing something as strenuous as handplaning parallel to the long sides to reap the reward. I bought two pairs and put them on both long sides. Without them, the instability is far more noticeable and especially when doing any work that requires pushing or pressure parallel to the long sides. It's an egregious decision for these not to come as standard and they're overpriced for what they are. I like the MFT and these are a pure money grab on Festool's part.

terrible wobbly table used to have it sold it these stabilisers should be included with table and that would still make it overpriced avoid this junk

I love my Festool kit and precision MFT-style workbenches are an essential component to their use... but I really don't see the point of the Festool MFT. Either I want something portable (there are alternatives that are simultaneously more transportable, storable, stable and economical) or something for the workshop which is inherently much (much!) more solid. It feels to me that the MFT is just not the best solution for any circumstance.

As a Maker, did you not even consider that you could, actually, make these? They are pretty simple!
If you are stationary, you would not want to start with a portable table. Have a proper workbench. The tops are widely available, or you can make your own. Buy a template and just use a trim router. See ruclips.net/video/rS02OaVFGhk/видео.html
    for an example.

I don’t have much space so it was really the packability I was looking for, but that is a very good idea I will look at this
