I just want to start with saying, you really need to go down the Zach Bryan rabbit hole. "Deann" is his mom. She passed away while he was on tour in the navy and he writes a lot of music about her. He was born in Okinawa, Japan on a navy base because his dad was also in the navy. Then they moved to Oklahoma and that's where zach lives now. He was honorably discharged from the navy to pursue his dream of writing music. With all that said, and hopefully you've read this far, you need to react to (or listen to) his album "American Heartbreak", which is probably the greatest album ever released by an artist ever
There’s no banjo in this album. Just Zach with his acoustic guitar. This is what got a lot of us into his music - acoustic sound mixed with raw emotions that are relatable to us young men. His later stuff is more produced and has more variety in sound so please check them out! Loving this vid
Zachs buddies convinced him to make a record of his “campfire” songs he had written. They rented an AirBNB, rented recording equipment, put the mattress’ against the wall and recorded DeAnn in 2 days. They threw it on Spotify and the rest is history. It’s a masterpiece in my eyes!
I've listened to this album so many times i could tell from the first slund if the guitar in Shivers down spines that the shuffle was on lol. I like really raw, deep music more than upbeat or party songs. If you enjoy stuff like that, youll love the rest of Zachs songs too! But he does have a few upbeat tunes too
Every touchstone to every Zach album is the death of his mother He actually played the Grand Ole Opry a couple years ago and they asked his to play like the outlaw country hits, and he said "sorry folks I'm here to play for my mom" and he finished with Sweet DeAnn it's beautiful
you should watch the video of condemned on youtube recorded when he was still in the army, same with heading south you can really see the emotion in those videos

I agree. The only album I'd put up against it is Southeastern by Jason Isbell.
@@jeremylilly1054 I only recently found Southeastern. Unbelievable. Has quickly become one of my favourite records ever.
Thanks for this I will definitely check American Heartbreak out!
