Ngl a "War" or "Reclamation" mode that functions similar to / inspired by Helldivers 2 missions/planet setup would make for one hell of a way to take back the planets.

It could be ANY of the enemy faction’s home worlds. There’s enough of them and do the taken or scorn have a home-world, not a home world as such but somewhere they have created a home. But the most interesting to me is the precursor home world or system. Properly learning the origin of the witness further and/or the veil.
Loosely looking up the numbers, Bungie had 800 employees at the start of D2 and currently have roughly 1600 after layoffs. So if those numbers are accurate, they doubled employees. Maybe they hired too much during the pandemic and couldn’t sustain?
I was always curious to know if our light would fade the further we traveled away from our system and the traveler, but the drifter going outside of our system answered that question, but it never says how far out he traveled. I wonder if there's a certain distance we can be away from The Traveler before it starts to cause issues with our light.
A good deal of what you mention for locations to visit would be billions of years old. Just natural processes alone suggest there would be nothing left unless there was billions of years worth of maintenance and upkeep. Even then that doesn't account for it being fried by a gamma ray burst, or supernova, some crazy collision, or just being a cold dead lightless world. Some sort of sundial or vex time travel/simulation could open those up though.
I so genuinely hope that neither The Cabal or Xivu get expansion level stories. There's very little in the existing lore that I want to see (The Nine, Golden Age, Vex origin). If anything, The Nine are perfect to centralize a story around for venturing out of Sol as they are cosmic in nature. They don't have to be the "Villain" but a parallel to the villain. We need NEW. Not just lore stories.
me personaly i would love to see the traveler bless the (ciatal's)cabal and eleskni with their own ghosts as a reward for helping save it but i dont really see it happening cuase we killed the witness unless the winower shows its mug but i do think it would be cool seeing calab making use of the light in its own way and i bet mithrix would make a badass gaurdian
One thing I always wondered why is at the end of the ending cutscene from season of the seraph Eramis asked the Witness why the Traveller didn't flee and the witness responded that it had no where left to run so does that mean that everybody in the sol system are the last forms of intelligent life left?
I just want Titan, Mars, the Leviathan, and the Dreadnought to be added back as patrol destinations. We know they’re there in the system, but I don’t want them to remain as only in strikes or vanguard ops after the season/episode ends.
I feel like many people forget that some human have ventured out into the unknown and established a pacifist colony with a certain hunter iron lord who we haven't heard of since the end of the red war
There is no D3 I'm assuming that these outside of Sol is just going to be mission instances instead of a whole new explorable area That way they can chuck it away the year after to shove in new missions
Question is not about the location.... its about what you do with it. I liked IO and Titan but there was not much going on. Mercury also had great potential with the past, present and future, but Bungie manage to make it into that small boring location. And looking at the previous locations doesnt give me much hope. Neomuna sucked and Savathuns Throne world was nothing in comparison to the dreadnaught.
There is plenty of opportunity and content they can build on to give us an on going and great experience. I hope they do this right and not puke up something Bungie thinks we want and half 🍑 it like they are used to doing. I want more Destiny but developed with a team that loves their jobs and loves the customer. Current Bungie seems to really hate the customer and seem miserable in their job.
Why arent we reclaiming our own home? How are we supposed to be unstoppable when the last city is Under threat every other year. Narrative wise it would make sense to focus the story on working with Neomuna and the Awoken to restore humanity back to its golden age. But what do i know.
The actual Dev's (the people who actually MAKE content for the game) are unphased by the drama surrounding the studio's name. Those guys designed the Dev Platform, they are the only ones who know how to work it (this is just how game design works). So quit worrying about the political drama. What the did was lay off people who just exist to collect pay checks and that includes Crooked Teeth Neck Beard, or as ya'll call him, Luke Smith lol
I agree with your first point, but not your last. A lot of great people lost their positions at Bungie but it is not their fault. A lot of Video Game companies took the growth during the pandemic for granted and assumed it would continue for a lot longer than it did. Once Bungie cancelled many incubation projects those workers likely were shifted back to Destiny, creating redundancies in roles.
I would love more character interaction with your Guardian. Not so much Ghost speaking for you. It makes it so impersonal and if they allowed your character to be involved in the dialogue it would make the gameplay personal

how about instead of "new ancient threats" just a actually new threat? not everything needs to be the ancient evil awakens trope. What if some world out there tries to create a more biological version of SIVA and ends up like the flood or warframes infestation? remember the opening mission for The Taken King where nobody knew what was going on and freaking out? how about more of that and not another "well heres the latest thing the winnower defrosts/took off the backburner to tag in". Imagine an enemy showing up without Ikora, Mara or Savathun hopping on the radio to tell you their wiki entry like the historian in every blumhouse movie telling people they got a classic bagool problem right there. Imagine seeing something you've never seen before and the usual suspects reply to "what is it?" from the ghost with "i dont know". Wouldn't it be nice to go in totally blind and learn about the new enemy not just what maguffin we need to one shot their leader and turn them into patrol fodder?
On a business side for the Nine I would think the nine could be the door for other cross franchises to come through from the peaverse. Some interesting cross stories can come from it. Mass effect. Halo. Half life. Doom. Goddess victory. Nikke Cough cough... they have some nice guns...😁
