    Welp, I know where my end of the year bonus is going.
    On a side note, I still have and use a Intuos 3 Pro... some anchient tech that never failed me, but it was the largest one they made and I loved that. Recently though I've gotten to the point where I'm trying to go beyond it's capabilities and I hate the disconect between hand and screen on a non display tablet.

    Hi I bought the cintiq pro (24). There was a problem with the display. Shipped with warranty but after returning the device. Its problems had already worsened. In general, there is no good warranty, and be sure to review this purchase.

    I don’t know if your model in the US is different or if it’s a recent change but the Pro-Pen 2 in Australia has the eraser top end on it, the pen Lisa is using Doesn’t. I wonder if they received complaints and modified the pens since this video? The one Lisa is using looks like the Pro Pen 3D.

    Thank you so much, this is the most thorough and to the point review I’ve found for the Cintiq Pro 24. I’m still debating wether to get this or the 32” if it ever comes out, either way, definitely my next giant upgrade from my Cintiq Companion 2.

  • @Pugmie

    I had been using a Dell Canvas 27 for a while now. I remember almost buying a Cintiq Pro 24 but manufacturing issues would mean I could not work on my digital art projects. At the same time, I happen to got a thousand dollar off deal on a sale involving the canvases and so here I am. While the pen sucks and I miss the customization Wacom had to offer. That 100% Adobe RGB and the touch screen really made me hope wacom would step up their game. I've used some of the touch screen functionalities on a showcase model and, I feel as if Wacom have not mastered touch functionality. A lot of people tend to trivialize its benefits but after being able to turn the canvas with a twisting of two fingers and pinching or spreading to zoom without any sort of lag or delay, I hope the next Wacom model improves this priceless feature.

    I wish that the accuracy of the color when going from the screen to the paper is only about choosing a good graphics tablet, you have to fight not only with the operating system but with the pantones and printing colors to achieve a good result ...

  • @CEllis-nv6dc
    @CEllis-nv6dc 6 лет назад +1

    I've had a 22HD for forever now, and while watching this, I almost cried out when you mentioned that there's NO PARALLAX (AHHHHHHHH) and also an internal fan! Sure, it might be loud, but I think that's something I can live with when drawing on my current Cintiq during the summer feels like working on the surface of the sun (it's actually kinda nice in the winter time though lol).
    Thank you for this review!! I think you've made up my mind! :)
    (NO PARALLAX AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHTHANK THE GOODNESS!!!!!)

  • @MarkShawMedia
    @MarkShawMedia 3 года назад

    Parallax looks pretty good, but I can definitely notice some there as you were drawing. Looks like maybe .75mm. I am very concerned about any kind of parallax because I do technical drafting type of work and have been working with a pencil on paper for decades. I've gone through a couple of different kinds of these now. I tried the cintiq non pro 16 and it had too much parallax to be used for technical line work.

  • @MarkOakleyComics

    Thanks Lisa! Excellent as always. (Almost like getting to play with one myself!)
    I do have a burning desire, however, to know what the touch interface is like! -I'm loving Dell's implementation. It makes drawing in ClipStudio Paint really fun and intuitive. The envious little monster inside me wants dearly to learn that Wacom's touch interface isn't as good or has bugs so that I can stop lamenting that I'd not waited for the Cintiq 24pro to finally become available rather than pulling the trigger back in May and buying a Dell Canvas 27.

  • @MaZEEZaM
    @MaZEEZaM 6 лет назад +3

    Did you find the inbuilt stand comfortable/natural to use? The seperate stand looks great baring in mind it costs a lot and I am just a hobbiest like yourself though with NO WHERE NEAR your skill level and would not be using the monitor close up to my body like I see many professional digital artists doing for me that would be a very uncomfortable position. Do you think its worth the upgrade?

    • @mobiletechreview
      @mobiletechreview  6 лет назад +4

      I thought I'd hate the built-in legs since the angle is so low. As it turns out I actually like working at that angle and it prevents arm fatigue. Definitely a supportive chair helps if you use the legs instead of the stand. I was actually tempted to put it on my full size easel to try painting upright! I think the stand is probably a good investment, but given the price- try out the device without stand first to see if you need it.

  • @CashmereSky
    @CashmereSky 6 лет назад

    Great review! I just got my Cintiq Pro 24 Pen and Touch a couple weeks ago. HOWEVER, it is absolutely brutal to sit long hours on without a proper stand. I have the official Wacom Vesa mount with the Wacom Flex Arm on order, but the mount doesn't ship until Oct 24th, and Flex arm until around Thanksgiving. The next strain I get looking down on the screen sets in within 20-30 minutes. When I use my Intuos Pro and stare straight ahead on my screen, I can go 5-7 hours. The positioning of the thing is vitality important. I will say though, drawing on it is an absolute dream. I also have more fun when I'm doing it! Less frustration than using a normal tablet.

      If you're using Photoshop, make sure it's using the 960M under performance settings. That Dell shouldn't lag when drawing unless they're large custom mixer brushes.

    Lisa, I wonder how you compare this to the 16Inch Pro version, size wise? I can see the benefit of having the larger screen is you would have room to have an image on the screen as you work on your main picture/painting but I wonder if its as comfortable to use as a whole as I would think you would have to move your arm around much more than using the 16inch model and potentially more tiring to use? Btw, I really hope Wacom gave you this to keep, you certain deserve it and for them you are by far one of the best advertisements they can get as long as their product is great and you give it a positive review which you did.

    • @mobiletechreview
      @mobiletechreview  6 лет назад

      I vastly prefer a bigger display to work on. The Pro 16 has the same screen real estate as a 15" Windows convertible laptop with pen, so it didn't offer as much of an advantage in terms of working area. The 24" is perfect, and I don't get arm fatigue since I often rest my arm on the ample bezels.

    • @3polygons
      @3polygons 4 года назад

      Specifically for the 24" and the 32" you do need an extra thingy purchased at Wacom online store, a 79$ piece to actually be able to use any vesa thing, so, also ergotron. Where it'd go the vesa, is now the whole engine thing. The purchased apart piece mounts over that engine area.

    Great video! Still drawing on my 22HD until it breaks. Im kinda upset they removed the ergo stand on the 24 Pro, the whole backside of the device looks kinda cheap and clunky compared to the 22HD to me. Also, the fact I cant simply flip it up to use it as a second display if needed makes it useless to me. :(

    Hi I would really appreciate some advice from people who actually use this tablet because want to upgrade my drawing tablet from an old Bamboo one and I consider purchasing the Cintiq pro 24.
    But I've read about the fans being loud and going on and of every 30th second and that would be a problem for me. And it is so expensive, if I make such a big investment I don't want be annoyed by it.
    I could probably live with a constant low fan sound but it seems from what I read that the fans will turn on and off very frequently even with the low fan settings, is that correct?

    I have a Wacom Cintiq Pro 13, and I think you were a little understated when you said the drivers were not perfect. This piece of technology is really amazing - well worth the money I spent (and I'm not a professional, just a crazy hobbyist who dropped some cash) - but only when the software works! I have had so much trouble getting the stupid drivers to work that I dare not update until they've been out for while. I even called Wacom Support (not that they have a great reputation), and they had no idea what was going on! It's their software!!!
    But at the end of the day, I agree with your review. Great product, shitty drivers.

    i'm using a five year old ugee pen display and i'm starting to feel like it's fighting me more than helping me. the colors are pretty bad and the line jitter is WILD sometimes. though i could technically afford a cintiq, i'm not sure i can justify the price tag because i'm just a hobbyist, albeit a serious one, who hopes to someday support myself with my art...but every model from a competing company seems like it compromises on either display or pen quality. i just don't want to buy something and then feel like i need to upgrade again in a year. are the benefits of the cintiq pro line worth the massive price tag?

    Sound wise, this is something I have noticed and been irritated by with my latest pc build, with the sides on, its a Fractal Designs R5, it gets really hot internally (In Eastern Australia) and its not even summer yet since I built this pc :S its SO NOISY. Thats despite having closed loop water cooled cpu and graphics card.

    • @ahs9674
      @ahs9674 6 лет назад

      The thing is, closed loop coolers are very overrated, a proper tower cooler from noctua, be quiet or thermalright is probably going to be a lot quieter. Then there's this trade-off with silent cases where they are often quite restrictive in terms of airflow, which makes all the fans inside have to work harder to overcome that restriction, defeating the purpose a bit.

    • @MaZEEZaM
      @MaZEEZaM 6 лет назад

      The graphics card and cpu are silent as they have no fans, the noise is coming from the bog standard fans that came with the case. I should probably replace them with quality fans.

    on they website they mention 99% AdobeRGB color gamut ... www.wacom.com/en-es/products/pen-displays/wacom-cintiq-pro-24#Specifications .. the 85% Adobe RGB listed in the video is what you measured during testing for the review?

      Yes, it's what our Spyder5 colorimeter measured for our unit.

    Hi, Lisa Gade. Thanks for this very helpful video. Please, I've got a question. (And pls if anyone else has got an answer, kindly leave a reply too. Thanks).
    Is the Wacom Cintiq Pro 24 compatible with macOS Monterey version 12.4? Thanks.

    Great Video , thank you . XP-Pen is another brand that has tablets very similar in specs and price to Wacom . I have the XP-Pen Artist 24 Pro 24" , and it not only has the shortcut buttons and jog dial, which are extremely useful, it also has a resolution of 2560 X 1440 screen. Ever since switching to a bonded screen, I will never get one without it. so I would recommend Artist 24 Pro over the Wacom cintiq pro 24 , and other Wacoms unless money is really no object.

    I had the 27qhd for the last two years and tbh I hated it, it was way too huge, the parallax was horrible and the drivers were the worst out of any device I've had... So yeah I sold it planning on buying the 16 pro (cause that fixed the parallax and has touch which I really liked when I used a surface pro) but tbh at that point I just couldn't justify paying 1.5k for a device that's literally the same usable size than my ipad pro so I ended up buying a huion 22 pro and I haven't looked back, it's so much better than the last gen wacoms, and at half the price of the smaller pro cintiq, I really don't advice anyone buying wacom anymore unless they really have money to burn..

      You sound to be a bit more mobile with your device so I dont think you made a bad choice going with something you would be happier with :) I personally love the larger sizes, allows me to really get my elbow working since the "canvas" is larger.

      I am all about bigger is better up to a certain point, once you have a tablet with the footprint of a 32 inch tv right up your face it starts becoming too much imo, just getting to the menu bars is a workout at that size, the new 24 does sound more reasonable though...

      rage Hi, I am torn apart as to what tablet to buy. I have had 3 wacoms without screen before and now want screen because my hand eye coordination isn’t so good and drawing on my ipad pro has been a blast. Been looking at the huions and cintiqs. Only thing that turned me off for huion is the lower screen resolution and no tilt support. Can you share more info with me about your experience with huion vs cintiq?

    • @ragecandy

      I got the gt 221 pro, there's cheaper options, but that's the only one that has the matte glass which I really wanted.
      The screen resolution is ok imo, I'm pretty sure the ppi is about the same as the cintiq I was using (new ones are better though), about tilt I was probably the person I know that used it the most but even then, I can live without it, the drawing experience is super close, but the nib is kinda clicky and you don't get a line until you press it a little, that's the one thing that kinda annoys me, but it's also way more precise than the older cintiqs so I actually prefer it, also the color calibration was abismal out of the box, but I got it to be pretty much perfect after messing with the settings for a while.

      I always thought: Wacom = best tablet producer.
      But I only knew them and was always told that the alternative brands are cheap and worse.
      After some actual research my opinion couldn't be more different!
      Brands like Huion and XP Pen seem so much better in terms of what you pay for.
      I'm currently debating on buying on of those three:
      1) Huion Kamvas Gt-191 V2
      2) XP Pen Pro 22e
      3) Huion Kamvas Pro 22
      Yes they're kind of ranked already but I think those are much better alternatives although this new Cintiq model seems like a beast but an unaffordable one.

    I use Procreate on my iPad Air which uses glass as a screen. This is the only drawback to the Cintiq Pro, they use a plastic screen. In time scratches will start to be annoying. If I'm paying $2000, it better have a glass screen over a $800 iPad Air with a glass screen.

    The touch screen on my wacom cintiq pro 16 is absolutely awful, so if its the same on this thing I would consider it a detriment to get it because sometimes the thing starts screwing up and the touch is on even when it says its off or you just cant turn the touch off because its malfunctioning and you have to restart your computer. Seriously I would have payed money to have my wacom not have touch, its dreadful.

    85% Adobe RGB, 80% NTSC is being consistently hit by clones these days. Wacom will have to do much better at that price. Can't get pressure sensitivity to work consistently on my existing Wacom, so I'm not keen to invest that kind of money in another W product. Your painting has improved a lot.

    only 80% Adobe RGB?? Seriously not impressed...the Dell Canvas 27 has 100%.
