Today I talk about why I got the Nikon Z7 in 2024. Nikon Z7 is a flagship camera from 2018 which with updates has turned into a great buy today, let me explain why I am using it.
I am sick of videos stating is this or that camera still good in year 2xxx. Of course it is. Any camera that was good in its day and gave you the images you loved is still good years later.
Being a none stacked sensor , it has better DR than Z8 / Z9. It can be a small but potent landscape/static portrait camera, affordable as well , maybe I'll get one if I find a good deal on Mk1.
The bottom plate is a very good idea. The most vulnerable spot on that body is the back on the bottom left, where the screen actually sticks out further than the body. I smashed the screen on my Z6, and immediately put an L-bracket on my Z7. I think they are tough cameras, but that spot on the back is vulnerable. You don't want to know what Nikon wants for a new screen!
Still own my Z7 after about 4 or 5 years and love it even though I also own the Z8. The Z 7 is great for a lot of situations because it is smaller ,lighter has great image quality ,maybe slightly better at some lower ISO levels than the Z8, and for most things I do the autofocus is no problem. So why do I own a Z8? well it's like why do people enjoy a sports car when we can get by fine with a regular car, makes life more fun if you can afford it and now that I am older I fortunetly can , and of course when I do birds in flight tracking or if I decide to do some high performance video it would be the way to go.
Hey Michael, I own a Z9 but I still have my Z7. If I want a lighter cary with a couple of lenses to shoot the streets, it is perfect. I have no issues with focus day or night and the image quality is great.
@@Stop-All-War I use Sony, because there are so many different excellent Cameras and all are compact and light weight. There are several hundreds of Lenses to choose from rom many brands. As I said th Nikon Z7 II would be the only Nikon I would get, but I would probably never get Nikon because of the poor Lens choices !
Yeah i hate single card camera, also as an owner myself, i found its AF system is really really outdated even when it first introduce, it was even worse than the D850, way behind any Sony camera in the market, tracking is really a joke
Why the (obnoxious) intrusive, distracting and, yes, un-friggin necessary "tickety-bop-tickety" pseudo-"music"? Oh, wait, I know, this dude is obviously Ashamed of his Voice Quality!!! Good-bye. [I shall now read a DP Review write-up on Nikon Z.]
I have been considering making a video like this about the Z7ii. The value for both of these cameras is insane for the image quality you get!
yeah I ue the z8 and the z7ii before, 45mp looks a tad better for portrait. I still have lesser mp for other stuff.

Keep an eye out, bargains are popping up more frequently now.

Ouch, yes that’s why I use them on all my cameras.

Absolutely, it’s a great camera, works for me, good Nikon quality.
I have the Z7 and Z50, Z7 for landscape, portraits. And Z50 daily shooting random.
I do not use Nikon, but I think that Nikon Z7 and Nikon Z7 II are the best Nikon cameras you can get.
Yes it’s perfect most situations where that detail in the picture is needed.
So, what do you use & why

true, since I do some action, the z6/z7 were a joke there. But for still photographers it isn't an issue.
@@xophaser agree. Still a great landscape camera. Even better than my Z9 due to it's not a stacked sensor and smaller.
It’s no action camera, but I have no issues with stationary or slow moving subjects.
If I get a camera it’s because I want a …camera. If I gave a crap about video, I’d get a real deal video camera instead.
Absolutely 👍
It never fails lol dude come on…comment sections filled with crazy people claiming they need z8 for portraits, or pics of their kids hahaha🤡
Why not?
Ludicrous & totally unecessary backing track - otherwise reasonable video.
ok thanks for the information ..... lol

Best you chill & quit the analytical, disrespect.. it's just a short amateur video on a Camera, with nearly audible background music.
