So killing thousands of monsters makes you hero. But having monster boyfriend/husband make you villain?
And not to mention experimenting your subjects makes you hero? No wonder why Mina is so mess up. I don't think she going to have redemption arc....
The monsters were killing and encroaching on humans lands so yeah
Mario Carrillo The Mewmans needed a place to live.
Mario Carrillo peaceful with “Monsters”
@@edk487 dude just stop Solaria was the worst queen
And they chose to crystallize Eclipsa instead of her maniac of a mother. The High Commission really is pathetic.
Well Hekapoo supported war with the monsters during BOTH Solaria's and Festivia's reigns, so there's that....
Alonso kinda had reason to fear monsters though....
Yep the high commission really a piece of shit

Just like real life government.
They're a bunch of racists themselves. Of course they would.

Magical high commission: WE SENTENCE YOU TO SOLITARY CONFINEMENT FOR CRIMES AGAINST MEWMANITY YOU MONSTER LOVING-REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
Not only that they don't even follow their own double standards. Globgore was apparently monster royalty. Which they made it clear that they were different from other monsters such as Tom or Ponyhead.
Eclipsa*
LittleMiss Deadly24/Papyrus they hung slyara
LittleMiss Deadly24/Papyrus seems legit-
Tch monster smoochers am I right
And they call Eclipsa the queen of darkness?
It's an inherited title she got when she ran off with Globgor. Who was known as the Prince of Darkness. (he's king now due to his kin being either wiped out during the war or sent to another dimension or something. We may never know which but the former is the most likely given Solaria's reputation.) She practiced dark magic sure but she herself wasn't nearly as evil as her psycho of a mother.
And Solaria the monster carver instead of maniac
Let me tell you why she is called Queen of darkness is because she take a monster for her love and left the throne
Joshey Dubs she is
Ita fucked up.
Tbh, the method of killing off monsters didn’t bother me, what did bother me was the fact that Solaria *repeatedly* writes that the monsters will be *happier* in the way they will be killed; there’s just something so ominous in it that sends chills along my spine
I feel bad for Mina loveberry she was innocent until some maniac decided hey I'm going to ruin your life because I need you
@@lynnmoonlynn310 not exactly right but I do understand what you're getting at because while she did volunteer to be experimented on which is part of the reason why Solaria had such a deep trust for her look at what it's driven her to a mad hobo woman who is bent on killing the daughter that she loved well admittedly she would probably be a little angry at eclipsa I don't imagine she would want her daughter murdered.
@@CloudyNight2156 true she did volunteer but still I feel bad for her
@@lynnmoonlynn310 yeah those experiments threw her over the edge.
@@CloudyNight2156 she's a psychopath. Even if she cared about Eclipsa at first, she would kill her because of her beliefs. She'd be dead to her.
Even Glossaryck thought she was evil because she never thought of who she hurt
For starters, Glossaryck says she scared him in the book. Anything that scares the most powerful all-knower is pure evil in my book. Also, I was doing auto texting on my phone. Besides, Solaria said he was obviously mad over her not following the ceasefire. Plus, even whether Glossaryck has a side or not, even he would agree that a total annihilation spell would be wrong. If anything went wrong with that spell, she would have annihilated her kingdom as well. For example, if she were to mention monsters, she would destroy the people who act like monsters. If I was him, I would foresee how experimenting magic on Mina and other peasants was going to be more problematic on the long run.
And I won't blame you for that.
@Al X. Andra maybe he tried at first but Solaria tortured him until he changed in some way.
I think when his children managed to crystallize Eclipsa while letting Solaria rampage, Glossaryck lost all the love for them that he might have had.
If my children were that level of incompetent, I'd stop loving them as well.
@@crashkojote5627 Well I wouldn't stop loving them but I'd just stopped trying to get involved with them until they have changed
Solaria had a british accent; Eclipsa was raised with the accent.
Moon and River have a british accent; Star doesnt.
It can happen. My mom is white and has a country accent but my dad is Hispanic and has a spanish accent. My brother has no accent recognizable from them and I have a spanglish(english spanish accent)
But wasn't Star raised by the palace guards?
The castle guards don't have accents and star went outside all the time
I never noticed that river had an accent lol
This is true
"Things haven't been right since my family took the kingdom"
No, Star, things were already horrible before your family even appeared on the picture. This chapter gave me chills, man.
The chapter that really gave me chills was the Eager Queen, I forgot her name, but she. She wasn't right in her head.
@@neonpinkqueen1403 i think that's cressenta
@@neonpinkqueen1403 It was Crescenta Butterfly Star 4x great grandmother and Moon 3x great grandmother

@@neonpinkqueen1403 Yeah Crescenta kinda scared me.
It really says a lot about Mewni when the queen who fell in love with monster and have a child with him is deemed evil and the one who was racist sociopath with a sword is an hero
It's all about who serves their intent and who came before. Hatred of the monsters was kind of cemented into them via Solaris and her mother, which was a long reign, so this one "evil" queen whi goes against everything already established? I mean, they were wrong in their views from our perspective because we know the whole story and have a wider veiw than them. They only had what what instilled. Quite sad, really.
It happens a lot of times actually not just in this show
My theory is, that when Solaria was out, slaughtering....Jushtin and Eclipsa bonded. I mean, they even look similar.
I really need someone to make a comic of Eclipsa and Jushtin.
Yeah, maybe he encouraged Eclipsa to go for Globgore because he saw a potential for peace between both people's.
Ohhh this is such a good idea! I don't have any ideas of their bonding but I will try to draw them.
Grapes omg yes
YES.
Savannah Hague And from what I remember Jushtin actually married a duchess from the Spiderbites Family for Love (because from What I heard, He didn’t get anything from Marrying Her). Maybe Jushtin unintentionally influenced Eclipsa to marry Globgore.

Dude. That’s like saying “no offense Hitler fans.”
@@MegaManDBZX lmao 😂😂😂😂😂
watching this again made me realize that eclipsa's spell with no name, is solaria's total annihilation spell. Remember, the total annihilation was a failure in solaria's eyes cause it didn't cause mass genocide. But, to kill a single monster, one that's an immortal septarian , would make it a sucessful one for eclipsa. Eclipsa also mentions seeing it firsthand, which sounds like she didn't conduct the spell herself, but may have seen solaria do it in battle.
The book confirms that Moon was seventeen when she lost her mother, fought Toffee and earned her title as Moon The Undaunted and since Eclipsa says she wasn't much older than her when Solaria died, I'm thinking Eclipsa was either eighteen or nineteen when she was forced to take her mother's place on the throne.
In her chapter have a numbers like: 150,180..... I think this numbers are Eclipsa's age, because when have the number 210 she says her mother died (21 years old), not much older than Moon. It's just my opinion. ( Sorry for any mistake, I still learning english)
I did remember in the movie eclipsa said to younger moon that she suffered the same thing but not much older than her
Huh both Solaria and Crescenta are really sick and messed up in the head and both are younger sisters who took the wand away from their older sibling who was the true heir. Coincidence? I think not!
Sofia Gayoso Younger siblings are always the evil one lol
@@desubysnusnu
Not mine😂really she protect me from everything.
@@desubysnusnu I was thinking more about "Giving the wand to someone who's not meant for it can cause them to go mad with power." (Festivia was a bit unhinged too) but honestly younger siblings are, indeed, the worst.
*cough cough* Loki *cough*
Solaria at least took being queen seriously...I find Crescenta had a worse attitude about ruling as queen. Sure, Crescenta created lots of spells but some of them were pretty dark/strange from what I've heard.
If you analyse Solaria's actions and doings she is basically insecure
Her mother was the greatest queen of mewni and her brother a great mathematician
So she had to find a way to leave up to those two and sort to fix a problem that mewmens were facing their conflict with monsters
They were not united and solaria didn't see this
Huh. Just hit me. Star vs. the forces of evil could be taken metaphorically. Those forces being fear and prejudice.
Yes but there's more.
'They are happier this way.'
It just gets scarier when she keeps getting more aggressive and assertive when she says that as if someone kept questioning her and asking, "Are you sure?"
Also, where was Skyewinne and Gem Robin in all of this? We know Jushtine was a supporter but what about her parents? Were they also supporters?
I think they died and she inherited the throne
@@aditrimohanty2717
Skywynne most likely abdicated the throne-in the last page of her chapter, during the 18th year of her reign, Skywynne states how she intended to abdicate and let her son, Justin (then two years old), take the throne when he came of age.
Boss Isaac ok that makes more sense
I imagined Glossyrick was trying to get through to Solarius, and that these little seeds of doubt started to mentally tear Solarius, and so had to ensure herself that this is what must be done.
Man, this Queen has issues
i know this is three years old but i got to say maybe deep down she knew she was the monster
It’s a miracle Eclipsa turned out to kind person towards both sides after learning about her mother.
I’m gonna chalk that up to her uncle and the fact Solaria genuinely loved her daughter
the total annihilation spell, was definitely "the spell that has no name". My evidence, the wording in the spell. It is so aggressive and definitely gives solaria vibes. Also there's literally a line that says "my mothers gift with which she reigned".
Yeah it was confirmed in eclipsas chapter or an episode I think that eclipsa finished her mothers spells
Come on Eclipsa even said it herself

Solaria was truly a psychopath and a real monster in the clearest state of the word. More evil than any creature we've seen, even Toffee.
The Fan Without a Face And Toffee’s time came AFTER Solaria, so I wonder if he was even evil or just ANGRY. I would be.
The Fan Without a Face to be fair, with what we know now, Toffee did have a good and reasonable motivation
However, he just approached it the wrong way
Bold statement but true
She’s more evil than toffee
And less smooth than toffee as well

It’s ironic that Jushtin is willing to make an alliance with anyone and is sorta seen as the ‘Reasonable King’. While his sister Solaria is blood thirsty and will cut down monsters. I guess Their mother was sort of right, Jushtin would have been great. So was Solaria though more infamous than others. But we would have been following a totally different story with a different Butterfly, if Jushtin remained King And Solaria was a General. Though ruling Siblings would have at least balanced each other out in more ways than one. I’m not saying she’s a great person, but sometimes evil beings tend to bring more light to a situation.
Well damn, this woman was the most monstrous of all. I remember in the episode "Tough Love", Eclipse referred to her mother and basically called her cruel and said she had a "backwards" mentality...but NEVER did I think it was to this extent. I'm also really shocked to hear about Meena. I always wondered what was up with her.... Why she was so OP and how she was supposedly immortal... But to think she was experimented on and had her basic humanity taken away from her.
I feel kinda sorry for Eclpsa, having such a cruel mother. Yeah they still loved each other but even Eclipsa realizes just how evil her mother trully was. I can't imagine having to live knowing that
@@thelovestruckhatress2301
Solaria's death was likely an indirect result of her atrocities toward monsterkind. I'm pretty sure stories of her deeds were frequently circulated around monster communities.
Mina volunteered though
well yea that's true....but I highly doubt she would've wanted to lose every shred of her humanity. She literally can't think for herself anymore, which must've added to why she was so annoyingly heartless in past episodes. If Solaria didn't take the spells and experiments to that level, her personality wouldn't have been as effed up. Who knows, there could've even been a chance that she could have eventually seen the Monsters side of things like Moon did, but now she's literally incapable of doing so.
Oh! THAT’S who she was talking about!
I honestly wonder how skywynne was able to have a child like solaria. It also makes sense why gloserik looks so unhappy in the grandma room photo
Skywynne also reluctantly took the wand from her oldest Child Jushtin since due to tradition of the throne and wand being passed from mother to daughter she had to take it back reluctantly when it was confirmed her second child was female

Spawn Of Taco Bell yes
It was meant to happen that Solaria became Queen
She also ended the show, with Mina and ruining magic and everything...
You know, I watched your video yesterday and something just kept buzzing in my head. When Solaria wrote in her book the best ways to dispose of each monster at the end of each she wrote, "They are happier this way." That got me thinking: What if the way you read it, wasn't exactly the way she meant it?
What I mean is, what if Solaria wasn't writing it as some sort of depraved killer? To me it can be taken as someone who is trying to convince, not the reader, but themselves that it's true. Think about it, she used magic on her own people, turning them into beings with, as the spells stated, no empathy toward anyone, especially monsters. As great a warrior as she was, she watched these citizens, once peaceful people, completely annihilate these monsters, doing who knows what to them and then burnt them in a great heap to celebrate. All of this caused presumably because she sent an envoy with demands that she knew full well would enrage the monsters to create an inevitable conflict.
Taking a step back, perhaps in the last years of the remainder of her life, she looked back on those things and maybe in her head, just couldn't except it and she wrote those few words, "They are happier this way" to rationalize it, to tell herself, to convince herself that it was true, it was really for their own good.
Or maybe she's just as crazy as you think she is. Those are just my two cents in the matter.
Shadowsnake 89 that is actually such a really good point
Damn. Solaira was a crazy queen. Though it is funny that the daughter of the Monster Carver was a monster lover.
Is the total annihilation spell the spell with no name? Also, do you think Solaria’s efforts to make Eclipsa a solarian soldier is the reason she’s never gone into butterfly mode?

I'm not sure. Personally, I believe that the Total Annihilation Spell and the spell with no name are different, but also the same. I believe that the spell with no name was the spell that Solaria never completed, and that the total annihilation spell is Eclipsa's perfected version, which she taught to Moon to defeat Toffee. The spell with no name is completely wild and destroys indiscriminately, whereas the total annihilation spell is accurate enough to sever a single finger.
@@100nitrog2 I believe that's the case, yes. The Total Annihilation spell is a weaker, more precise version of the wild and unstoppable spell with no name. The former is for killing or maiming specific people, the latter is just an all-consuming wave of death.

After seeing this video it makes me think on the true meaning of "evil" in 'Star vs. the Forces of Evil' really means. Is it the evil that of the villains she takes down or the evil behind Mewni's history and the Magical High Commission? Who can say which is the lesser of two evils in this show.
The true evil is racism.
I think at this points the "Forces of Evil" is basically people doing the wrong thing regardless of their alignment.
i think it depends on the context really, the foces of evil are now no longer a force of incompetent monsters trying to steal a wand, but now various entitis with their own goals and motives who bring misery and pain to everyone to fulfil their selfish desires.
The Magic High Commission. Shastacan. Meteora. The Pie Clan. Mina Loveberry. The Mewman legacy of racism towards the monster race. Toffee.
These are the forces of evil, many of them are opposed, many of them aren't even aware of each other, but they all have one thing in common: they are the forces of evil that Star must face.
@@sarafontanini7051 Meteora doesn't count as a force of evil anymore, you better correct that to Miss Heinous.

Why does Heckaboo hate monsters so much?
Perhaps the "total annihilation spell" WAS completed and passed down orally as "the whispering spell".
Cause detonating the wand to turn an entire castle and the surrounding area into a crater sounds like annihilation to me.
Huh... Y'know, I can totally believe that. Given that Solaria's wand sword was powered by her hatred, I imagine it would have been far more powerful if she used it. Granted, I think she decided not to use it when she realized she'd only be able to do it once since the wand would be destroyed(wouldn't be impossible to fix the wand, but having to fix it every time you want to use what is basically a magical nuke would be a problem).

Solaria is a vain person, how can she know they are happy in pain? Is she crazy? Physco ?
She seems to be an actual allegory for Hitler, with each monster representing what Hitler thought of different people.
Star vs the forces of evil suddenly turned into freaking Game of Thrones!
XD
I'm dead 😂😂
This!
Kinda sad that this series of videos hasn't been continued 😢
IKR ive been looking for Eclipsa's chapter ; - ;
if the series continued it would be cool to see episodes of the queens
solaria: **commits mass genocide**
the magical high commission: *kalm*
eclipsa: is it just me or is globgore looking *kinda thicc*
the magical high commission: *panik*
Skywynne could be the source of Solaria's source of monster hatred. With their peoples expansion into monster territory due to Skywynne's advancements, Solaria could have seen her moms struggle for more space and misinterpreted it as an arms race and developed her own twisted agenda coming to an over the top version of said struggle.
I've Been Waiting For This Vid For What Feels Like Forever!! And talk about good choice of queen to talk about on Halloween. Boy, Solaria was a real piece of work. Nothing excuses prejudice, but I wonder what made her disdain monsters so much? At least with Moon the primary trigger was the murder of her mother, but what was Solaria's case. Cause it just kinda sounds like the hate was innate with her. It's disappointing, but not surprising I guess that a character like Solaria would keep a lot of her feelings in. Anyway, now I'm even more excited for Eclipsa's chapter. Great in depth video Slice. And Happy Halloween🎃!!!!
I get it, and as much as I'd LOVE more info on this badass, sometimes prejudice is just given to you. Your family brings you up a certain way out of what they believe is love and you(Solaria in this case)stick by it. And her being slightly chauvinistic in her duty mentality, was too dogmatically hateful(e.i. What you said shoving down any doubt or negative feelings) for her to see otherwise.
@@violetraven8323 - This is true. I haven't read the book, so I don't know Skywynne's view on monsters. Something tells me she didn't care for them, but also didn't hate them to the point where she would literally dance around their burning corpses. And Jushtin seemed to have a good relationship with monster type beings. However, that may have only been with the elite class monster's, much the same way Moon is. So I can buy why Solaria viewed the monsters as lesser beings, but again her desire to just obliterate them is insane. I mean, her obsessive intent to destroy them, even led her to destroy Mina's state of mind. And Mina was her own citizen! So, I know more than likely we'll never get a explanation for this, but still it just makes me curious. Also, for a side bar, I wonder then where did Eclipsa learn her compassion for monsters? Was it just her nature and attraction to them, maybe a bit from Unlce Jushtin, or did she just not want to be like her mother?
P. E. R. Don't take my explanation by ANY STRETCH OF THE IMAGINATION, as justification for her extremist hatred. And how she was so willing to toy with the life/sanity of her own people, is INFINITELY BEYOND EXCUSABLE. And Solaria being Exlispsa's mother, with her chauvinism intact I doubt she wouldn't do everything in her power to implement this same level of entitled supremacy into eclipsa. Doing all she could to make sure Mewmni dominance would remain. But my head canon until an explanation is granted, is that Eclipsa had this same mindset towards monsters. Being young, sheltered, and little experience with others, she'd ignorantly believe her mother cause it's all she knows. Yet she met her monster love after being unhappy with her current husband. Shifting her perception of monsters dramatically, thus she ran away knowing Mewni and her mother especially, would disown her as a freak.
@@violetraven8323 -Oh trust me, I don't excuse Solaria's behavior at all. And knowing what we do now about Solaria, it's understandable why Eclipsa called her mother awful in "Tough Love".
And that's an interesting theory. Since, I've only watched video's concerning the spell book, it's hard for me to form a proper theory on when exactly Eclipsa met/feel in love with Globgor. Because from what I heard, it sounds like Eclipsa both knew and was in a relationship with Globgor before she married Shastacan. Plus this may be a bit *spoiler-ish* so if you wanna wait till Slice's next video, don't read further. But Eclipsa also dated other monsters, and I'd imagine those relationships were also before Globgor. Which, of course, makes me wonder if she's just always had a non violent disposition towards monsters.
Violet Raven In her chapter though it says that long before she met Shastacan she had been dating monsters,I think it's more on the line that Solaris smothered Eclipsa with love and probably didn't bring up monsters and teach her daughter her barbaric ways as by that time they were no longer a threat.
"They are happier this way..."
Ohhhh okay. Yup. I'm fine. Not at all nauseated. Totally not.
A monster snatched Solaria's wig once upon a time and left her forever bald without even any edges. So that's why she bears her undying grudge against them lolololol
I love this comment😂
😂😂😂
Originally from her tapestry of "A castle stormed,A hero born"made me think Solaria's mother was killed by monsters.Which caused Solaria's hatred for all monsterkind.Along with the fact that it seems to be a running Fate if Queens of Mewni with Comet and Solaria herself,it wouldn't surprise me.And from how Skywnne's chapter on how monsters were drawn too the increase of food via magic and then driven out from Butterfly Kingdom it sounded like that was how this was gonna go.But nope. And it could have been an understandable motive for Solaria to rage war on monsters and for her untamed agression. After all when a queen dies the heir to the throne is crown queen right away.Solaria would be in charge of a kingdom which peace is in shambles. She wouldn't had time to grieve like Justin would have.Maybe had a bit of resentment because Justin was able to properly mourn the lose of their mother. But nope,Solaria just hates monsters cuz they exist in Mewni
Agreed.
sometimes you really dont need to give a villain a motivation to be a villain-- sometimes they just need to be evil because theyre evil
It really puts monsters in a different light, I think. The fact that they didn't DO anything to warrant her anger and destruction, really makes you wonder who's the true villain of this show. If Toffee's goal was to destroy Mewman magic and their rule, was he really so unjustified when they've done nothing but bring horror to them?
Interesting dilemmas no? :P
@@StarcoFanatic I'd argue that the only villains currently are the MHC and Mina. I can't bring myself to blame the present-day Mewmans for the atrocities of Solaria any more than I blame Eclipsa for them, or any child for the acts of their parents. Toffee is to blame for the murder of Comet (Unless there's something we're not being told there), but I wouldn't blame any of his theoretical children, or other Septarians for it.
No wonder Eclipsa's called dark...her mother's a psycho. She's Maria Mandl with magic!
And if you think she's bad--Crescenta's *worse*
Eclipsa is definitely a better person than her mother. Because even though she's the queen of darkness, she would never stopped as low

Excellent Video Sliceofotaku 👌🏾
🚫Solaria is not my favorite queen, she’s a nut job .
❤️Eclipsa will forever be my favorite, no wonder eclipsa loves monsters so much.
Ya know. This may be a stupid connection but with how Solaria acted toward the monsters is kinda how the British(and American settlers) acted toward the native Americans. Though mostly the French Indian war, and the Trail of tears. With the French Indian war it's similar to the war Solaria sent her people into. The French fought the native Americans(I believe I haven't read up on it since grade 7) and with the monsters having to completely move their people, culture, and history due to Newmen (?? Idk how to spell it sorry ^^) people taking land from the monsters (just as Americans and British took land from the native Americans)
Plus Solaria seems a look like a dictator(and in my opinion a lot like Andrew Jackson[the US President who ordered the Indian removal act{the trail of tears}])
You're probably right....
Or you can compare them to Solaria literary being Hitler and the mewmens being german Nazi and the monsters being the oppressed Jews

It was actually way more complicated than that.

My first impression for solaria was “Wow she looks so cool and badass!” But now after watching this I don’t know how to feel about her.
Solaria is an interesting character from what we see of her in the show. Though I wonder what made her hate monsters that much.
Solaria:They're happier this way
Me:GIRL YOU'RE SAYING THAT THEY'RE HAPPIER DEAD!! THATS MESSED UP! LISTEN TO YOURSELF!!!!!
Well, what can you expect from someone whose magic power is drawn from her rage and aggression?
There is a certain sense of...comedic irony in Solaria's tale, she dedicated her life to exterminating monster kind while her daughter sympathized with them, even having a child with one, never thought the creators would approach a Disney Show in this way.
Eclipsa was the queen of darkness, but her mother's action were darker.
It's sad that Jushtin had to lose this crown to this genocidal maniac.
Lets go get a snookers, do you want snookers
No wonder eclipsa like that candy
Skywynne: What are you playing honey?
Solaria: I’m playing *kick monsters out and kill them!*
Skywynne: *oh*
Going by how Solaria and her followers were, it's not surprising to see why Eclipsa ended up the way she did. A historical figure in a magical world who ended up attempting genocide on entire races because of insecurity and expansionism... you know, for kids!
"Trust me. They are happier this way."
Please stop usinG THAT TERM, YOU'RE MISUSING THAT TERM REEEEEEEEE-
The only thing Solaria loved was Eclipsa- her own blood and just had respect for those who were loyal to her. That's her full range of emotions apart from rage and disgust
It'd be pretty deep if Eclipsa perfected the Total Annihilation spell
but chose to find out the truth about monsters and decided their fate apon what she learned.
She technically did. Remember that spell she shared with Moon? The one that can kill immortals? She created that for self-defense though seeing that it's the only way to protect her people from overly aggressive septarians.
