I mean, making her teenage daughter queen is bad enough, but then not even bothering to save the spell book is a whole new level of dense.
It's a shame that Lyric didn't save the book. After watching the final episode it would've it great to see the past 27 queens. Don't get me wrong, the current 13 are great but I would love to learn more about Mewni history

You forgot about the part in which she once deleted gravity and a few Mewmans were lost in space and landed on a now a bustling world, it could be possible they landed on Earth and one of them could be Marcos ancestors can you do a theory on that please.

And when Marco used magic, he got cheek marks, which we now know isn't limited to the true Butterfly family. But we know it's most likely unique to mewmen.
I take this to mean either some humans are actually descendents of mewmen, or humanity in general is.

@@bianchang4278 That wouldn't explain why they have them from birth, but the book suggests it has something to do with "magical radiation".
In other words, it could either be a mewman trait and a reaction to harnessing magic, or it may be an effect you get from being exposed to magic a lot.

Frappsie well I mean. Moon got a back story for a REASON. The issue Moon had to deal with went on to be star’s responsibility. And we needed to know more about toffee and how moon became MOON. However, Skywynne is a VERY interesting character! I hope we get something.

I can see why Star looks up to her. She had self-doubt like she did.
She did also the same things, we dont know how much she messed up due to the mind spell, and moon was an actice ruler,but star did clean up the mess from past rulers, and recreated a realm on her first awakening. There are too many parallels. She is also annoyed with spoiled mewman.

the 2nd Era started with Skywynne Butterfly who destroyed a whole dimension by dipping down and she was soo stronge and her daughter Solaria add to that eclipse ,butterflies at that time was soo stronge but than festivia come and the downfall of butterflies start until star come to Announces the beginning of the new era with the strongest queen found in the butterfly family and the queen that will unite all under one single,ending the centuries-old wars and beginning to guide everyone towards progress and development and Where they will be attacked by an enemy that Skywynne warned that they will attack the castle and everyone but because of the unity of all will be victory for the alliance and this will strengthen this union.

Dude, it doesn’t matter once you know how the butterfly family was created. Glossirick just took a baby rattle scooped a unicorn in it, called it a wand and gave it to some random person (sorry if I come off as mean in this comment)

My guess is Star hasn’t used the warnicorn stampede to its fullest potential up to this point. But even if she has, I could see why Queen Skywynne would consider it her best spell. She seems very honorable and possibly regrets some of her spells that tampered with reality too much, (the food spell, and the results of dipping down). So perhaps she did not see her time spell as great because they had too much potential for causing chaos. I would say that her time spells were her strongest. So what is left but the warnicorn stampede? I think it makes sense that a majestic spell like it the would be her favorite

The dead rising spell sounds cool, and didnt use star a time spell, the reality altering and destroying spells are probably in her mind a bad legacy. And mewnicorns are unicorns, but really cool and wild.

And the thing is, she's not even the strongest queen to live! It's said that Eclipsa is and that Star matches her. Star is gonna surpass Eclipsa.

What if Festivia was the grandchild of Jushtin The Uncalculated(The boy). Considering his party boy attitude of his youth it doesn't seem all that unlikely for him to have had an illegitimate child. Then that offspring, raised as a peasant, had Festivia. Though of a broken line that would still make Festivia and her descendants technically part of the Butterfly family by blood.
Just my fan theory.

@Katie Lewis Well, I can understand your opinion, but I have to disagree. Firstly, being related to the original Butterfly family would not put Star on the throne. Second, I have a hard time believing MHC would choose a replacement for Meteora, that had no connection to the Butterfly family at all.
They specifically said that they switched it with a peasant girl and she didn’t have marks when she was baby, the butterfly family is born with marks
Wait... She had a son?? As far as we were shown, only the daughters inherit the thrown and wand, so if she had a son... Then there's a chance that there is another Butterfly bloodline through that son. Which means there's a chance that Festina and everyone that came after her, if she really was a descendent of the son that is, may have been an actual Butterfly thus accounting for the cheek marks.

The son was Justin the Boy Queen, but since his younger sister Solaria the Monster Carver is Eclipsa‘s mother and passed the wand down to her, he probably gave up the throne in her favor.
But that wouldn't mean that his family doesn't have claim to the throne. From the Flag Day episode Star does have a big family maybe there could be another boy in the Butterfly family at one point. We don't know what happened before Skywynne became Queen.

She's damn scary and powerful but you've got to admire her drive.
With how terrifyingly powerful Skywynne was, it makes me wonder what star, or even eclipsa, could do if they absolutely pushed their limits. Baby low-key implied that star and eclipsa were/are some of the most powerful queens that mewni has had, so it just makes me wonder.
Loved the book, but now i absolutely want to read the original spellbook that got lost in the castle fire. The spells of the first 26 queens, including experimental magic like the unedited spells used on Mina, the origins of the Kingdom, the high commission's prime, and other such dangerous secrets. Dang it I finally got the book I've been waiting for, and it only makes me yearn for ANOTHER spellbook.... (also would be awesome if at the end of the series they released Star's book, since her chapter ends off where the show's did and doesn't contain any of her notebook)
Since I haven't purchased any of the books, I don't know these juicy details and lore. So thanks for sharing this info! Anyway, Holy Moly Skywynne Is AMAZING!!! This vid makes Skywynne sound like supreme queen. Grant it, to be a manipulator of time you have to be a pretty savvy person, so perhaps it's not too surprising to hear that her accomplishments were that incredible, but still she's pretty cool.
P.S. On a shallow note, I'm surprised Skywynne didn't see herself as beautiful. In my opinion, she's the second prettiest Queen after Eclipsa.

Behind The Door- Oh yeah, I completely forgot about that😅. It's nice that we finally have some insight of the Butterfly family tree.
It's probable that Skywynne didn't trouble herself with such things, given her disdain towards the more fluffy things about being queen. And given that most, if not all, the concepts we see in the show and in later chapters, had its groundwork during her era, I wouldn't be surprised if her name is something revered in Mewni society and among the Butterfly family.
To be fair Skywynne is Eclipsa's grandmother, Solaria being Eclipsa's mother. Though Jushtin being her uncle does explain Eclipsa's style and love of awesome hats.

She is in my opinion the most influential queen, and one of the most powerful, being able to destroy a dimension and all that.
She did so many things for Mewnie, such as
Rebuilding the castle,
Writing a new book of spells
Feeding her citizens for multiple years,
Helping the people to grow their own food
Starting a school
Making Mewnie more powerful,
Plus, I love her poem and picture on the first page.
My favorite thing about her though is her character. She realizes her faults, but also knows her strengths. She is not a perfect queen, but she is very intelligent and works hard, helping to create modern Mewnie.

If she had 2 children and Solaria was after Justin maybe since he was a male queen he was stripped from his thrown and the crown handed over to his younger sister Solaria

She's a badass no question. I've wanted to know more about this character since I was introduced to her in that "Which Queen are You?" quiz, and when I saw the time wand I was immeaditly intrested, so thank you.
Skywynne's magic has a lot of potential, and I'm surprised that Solaria didn't review her chapter when fighting the monsters of Mewni (mainly the Septarians). You could use a Septarian's immortality against him by trapping them in a time loop that they'll be trapped in forever.
She was one of my favourite Queens along with Celina, Estrella, Eclipsa, Moon and Star ^^ Great video ^^

Technically, Star, Moon and Estrella aren’t royal to the bone. Festivia was NOT Eclipsa’s daughter, Meteora was. Which means, the queens who came after Festivia aren’t royal.
Skywynne to me seems so.. peaceful, almost to the point of being clairvoyant. How such a peaceful, sweet, powerful woman with such incredible gifts, gave birth to the genocidal maniac that is Solaria( did I spell that right?) worries me, also in my opinion, it’s awesome that eclipsa’s grandma was so cool and I bet you anything she drew a LOT of inspiration from her

Wait, so is Skywynne Eclipsa's grandma? And if Justin & Solaria are siblings, and both became rulers of Mewni at one point or another, it's very likely Jushtin had either a relatively brief rule or gave up the throne willingly to Solaria.

I don’t know this for sure at all but it seems that in Mewni women inherent the throne, not men? So the prince would stay the prince while the princess becomes the queen.

I love that there is a running theme of each queen facing her own personal and public trials and tribulations as Queen and that there was/ is no one true way of being queen. Trying to place the next generations in a superficial mold doesn't help in the long run.

Seems like something we should keep in mind for the future, seeing how the book was once again burned this time around... apparantly not as lost as we thought *.*

Ah. I was wondering how the lineage worked. That would explain why Meteora is so powerful. The last few chapters before she got the book involved literally wrending time-space, creating immortal super beings, and generating food from nothing. So her chapter involves killing immortals and befuddling the mind. Naturally.
Yeesh what how does she do this. This show should be about her. I would love a show on her. I now have a new favorite Queen and a new favorite character.
I want star to somehow "find" the old original book of queens hidden deep in the ruins underneath the castle. I want her to discover other royals or at least descendants that tell their true story but I don't think that'll ever happen since this is the last season.

As soon as I heard the name Skywynne "Queen of Hours" I was in, like when she was mentioned for the first time in the show, I knew she'd be my favorite Queen other than... well, you know... Star. I'm a big fan of time stuff, time travel, stopping time, TIME MAGIC (I love magic so time and magic together is honestly the best), etc.
So like, yeah, but now that I got all of this new information about her, I love her even more.
The wand is amazing btw, every magical item with the form or appearance of a clock is a yes for me.

I really want to know more about Justin, not only because of him being the only king with a wand, but because his sister also had it and the fact that he made his wand a living being. Was the wand like Glossaryck, like a kid or like a pet? I'm truly interested in that living wand.

Now wait one second, if Lyric Butterfly had a vacation home in a volcano it is possible that the volcano she stayed in was the one on the pie island and, considering if her husband had passed, it could be possible that Lyric had tell in love with one of the pie folk and had Festivia's great grandmother.

She was an amazing queen who had already read through the book and probably mastered skywynnes spells and created thousands on her own whereas skywynne only knew her own spells because the old book of spells was destroyed (thanks Lyric) so she wouldn't know nearly as many spells
@@l0yalth30rist8 True, not to mention Crescenta was poltically smart and able to use magic without the wand. Then again, Skywynne was a master of time. If anything, she can stop time to learn the updated book of spells if she was resurrected. That way she could go toe to toe with Crescenta.

I absolutely love her the story of her being such a phenomenal queen at such a young age is extraordinary
I LOOOOOVE that SVTFOE has this much of a story and lore behind it. I don't think I've seen another cartoon show do so to this degree, and it's so interesting to learn about the history of Mewni and it's rulers.
And both of her kids became monarchs in the end.
