    Yes, Jushtin was immature. But looked how that turned out with Star. Jushtin's reign didn't last long enough to allow him to mature and do something great for Mewni. He formed connections with the Lucitors and the Ponyheads (along with Heckapoo and Alphonse). And he isn't Solaria, for that he gets an A+.

    If Solaria is Jushtin's sister, then that would make him Eclipsa's Uncle. So in a way, Solaria being born could be viewed as an even worse thing for Mewni's history because she later gave birth to the queen of darkness herself. And then, with Festivia replacing Meteora, the official Butterfly Royal Family was ended. In a sense, Jushtin was the last true heir of Mewni. That's a powerful thought to keep in mind when someone says that one little event can change the course of history.

      Luke Austin The only reason She was named queen of darkness was because the prince of darkness was Globgor And because of her starting back in magic which proved to be helpful when defeating Meteora. Solaria is one of the best queens in the history of Mewni actually doing something about the monsters when passed queens just let it slide

      Gray Jedi I honestly feel like Solaria was manipulative and pretty racist since in the book of spells she said that Monsters felt better when they were *dead*. I honestly think Solaria was one of the worst queens. Besides, her war didn’t even accomplish anything. It was Festivia(her soldiers) the one that ended the war

    While Jushtin was young and simple, I think Mewni really missed out that he didn’t rule. Skywynne was very wise and very powerful and when she said she could “see it in his eyes.” about her sons magical potential I feel like she really was seeing what would be his greatness. I feel he would have been as great as his mother if not better had he been the one to rule like she had hoped for.

      Plus he would have been MUCH better than Solaria’s rule, imagine if he became queen and solaria happened? Never can just never have a kid and solaria’s kid,Eclipsa, would still be able to fall in love with globgor and inherit the throne due to Jushtin’s lack of kids.

    I feel bad the Jushtin got the short end of the stick just for being a boy, but at the same time, reading his chapter was painful for me because of his cringey grammar and "text language." I did find his relationship with his mother adorable, but he didnt seem mature enough to be fit to rule.

    • @siwanoXx
      @siwanoXx 6 лет назад +152

      He was living at a time where Mewni was in peace, so no big need to care about war I guess. He surely was really more mature than Star. And he was not even the heir of the family but just a "Queen" in preparation for the throne like any of the other girls. Text language and cringey grammar don't show if a person is mature or not. He can /I don't know/ have troubles like dislexia ? And a personnality don't show how a person can be on top of the kingdom. All you need is just to act. This is how it's work. Plus, if he had enough royale education and didn't get take back by his mother, he would surely be a great Queen. I'm sure the fact that he is only good at math is not for no reasons, plus even his name is like a bad joke about him. If I was him I would be really not happy to be called "Jushtin the uncalculated". I feel like they just neglected his Queen education because he is a boy.

    • @siwanoXx
      @siwanoXx 6 лет назад +71

      I just want to add, with this reverse kingdom thing with Queen in the Top powers, it's remind me old nobles things real life. Mostly, boys was learning everything and getting a big education (reading, writing, fighting, diplomatics, math etc) when girls was only learning little things to not be too much idiot, and only here to serve as next Mother or object to be Married to the dude from the next country. I guess it's the same with Jushtin. x)
      Doesn't the contrast bitween Jushtin and his sister looks so weird ? It's looks like it was made on purpose. It's looks like she is like a tomboy warrior (boy position) when Jushtin looks more effeminate (girl position)... If you see what I mean...
      Well, at least he know a bit writing (and maybe reading) is good at math and has good diplomatics quality.
      (Sorry if my english is a bit weird.... xD)

    Married or not, Jushtin was probably childless. The MHC felt no choice but to adopt a peasant after Eclipsa left, like they didn't have anyone else. If Jushtin had had kids, they would've been Eclipsa's cousins and, thus, true members of the real Butterfly Family; they would've been ideal. This is why I think Jushtin never had kids.
    It's true that Jushtin and Festivia are very similar; same hair, same nose, similar personalities, etc. But I don't think she's his daughter because that would be a cop-out. "Oh, turns out you're still royalty/ a true Butterfly, Star! " so anti-climactic. Also, Omni called Festivia a "Peasant"; you wouldn't call a queen's cousin a "Peasant", would you?
    Also also, in the hologram, the arms holding Festivia (possibly her mother or father) are wearing very tattered clothes that look like something a peasant would wear; nowhere near as glamourous as Jushtin's wardrobe.

    • @AnimeAngel88
      @AnimeAngel88 6 лет назад +166

      It could be possible that they picked Festivia BECAUSE she looked like she fit into the royal family, having similar physical traits to Jushtin. It's not uncommon for some kids to look more like an aunt or uncle, so they could have used the excuse 'oh she takes after her Great-Uncle Jushtin'.

    Something tells me that this split in the line is intentional by the creators. Festiva may have been Jushtin's daughter or granddaughter. They both had purple hair and enjoyed partying. Plus Jushtin is being set up as a sympathetic character.
    If this true, then in many eyes, that would give Star a stronger claim on the throne than Eclipsa.

      @di7209 2 года назад +10

      I know it’s been 3 years but I don’t so the mewni throne is matrilineal so Éclipsa would have a greater claim than star regardless since her royal link was from a woman while Stars would be from a man

    • @fairyblu6929
      @fairyblu6929 2 года назад +3

      I mean, Festivia has been confirmed to not be related to the throne. Yes both her and Jushtin have purple hair, but it's not the same shade. Festivia's hair is more of a blu-ish shade and his is more of a purple shade. Plus, why would he abandon his child on Pie Island? They found her on the streets of the island, born to a peasant, long after both Jushtin and Solaria had passed. With the age gape between Solaria and Jushtin, he'd be old enough to be Festivia's grandfather. Festivia is the same age, if not younger, than Meteora. It's an interesting theory, but I don't really see it. And even if it were true, it wouldn't have given Star a stronger claim on the throne than Eclipsa. First of all, it was female above male on the throne. So if she were descended from the only biological male Butterfly, that would immediately put her below Eclipsa. Secondly, Eclipsa is the direct descendant of Solaria, the ACTUAL heir to the throne and the queen. Whilst Star is the great great great something granddaughter of Festivia, the biological child of a peasant. And finally, Eclipsa is the older one. Even if they were more directly related, Eclipsa would still have a stronger claim.

      That would be the ideal way in an egalitarian society, jushtin would handle the diplomacy and legal system while solaria handles the military and national security but alas mewni being matriarchal prevented that however i do have to applaud svtfof for showing that a matriarchal society can be just as harmful as a patriarchal society especially since nowadays modern (classical ones are vastly different much like how different modern liberals and classical liberals are.) feminists seem to want female superiority with taglines such as "the future is female" and labeling masculinity as toxic.

      Whelp she probably bent time to make sure she ended up with her husband and maybe loved him a bit too much to consider the consequences of another baby.
      I doubt Jushtin would hate his mother or baby sister because he is a mama’s boy and must’ve thought she knew what was best for the kingdom.
      I’m convinced Skywind made a mistake (no pun intended) and it would trickle down until the forces of evil were made.

Very smart, and he does seem like he has a lot of potential, to be able to excel in Math and diplomatic relations. I mean, it's one thing to be able to understand complex info yourself and put them into practice, but to be able to share this knowledge in a way others can understand it easily, that's a talent! imagine all the spells he could've made with simple moves. It would've made learning very easy for future queens of mewni.

    @inbetween1-042 6 лет назад +40

    I think Eclipsa took after Jushtin a lot in the way she befriends monsters, even dating them since he can make friend out of anyone. And what if Festivia is a descendant of Jushtin? As I think that the HMC can't just choose a random Mewni girl as the next wielder of the wand and thus the throne, they might have lied about Festivia being a peasant girl. This way Eclipsa may not be Star's great grandmother but maybe someone connected to Eclipsa was her ancestor? Not to mention, there has been mention that Star not just looked like young Moon but also Skywynne.

  • @myriadmediamusings
    @myriadmediamusings 6 лет назад +34

    I have a feeling that Skywynne cast Jushtin aside when Solaria was expected, not because of gender inequality, but because Jushtin didn't live up to Skywynne's expectations. Skywynne's final passage indicates how hopeful she is in Jushtin as a ruler...and in the next chapter she writes to him about finding the book in a poop bucket. If Solaria wasn't born then Skywnne would've had to deal with it and then we might've seen Jushtin mature as a monarch and magic user, but as history showed, that never happened.
    But this gives what perhaps is one of the greatest strengths of this work: That practically every past queen and their chapters do show the flaws of their personalities. It's still crazy at how such a show like Star VS, how it can definitely get wacky & crazy but deeper later on, has a lore that can almost give it a dark, ominous and questionable spin.

    Uncalculated can be used to mean that something hasn’t been thought through or the opposite of a calculated person meaning simple and genuine, but I like to think it means “unknown quantity” Jushtin’s potential, his success, how his reign would have gone are not things that can be calculated. Who he could have been is unknown.

    We had very different interpretations of the scene where Skywynne takes wand. I saw it as her tears being a mask she put up so that Jushtin wouldn’t know she didn’t have confidence in him as a ruler. When she thought he couldn’t see she was acting joyous at the notion that a different ruler would take her throne. I see it as Jushtin even after seeing this without her knowledge still had faith in his mother enough that he believed this must have been a facade. It’s a very different scene from how you perceived it but I think both would be great to see animated.

And he probably had a secret set of spells that weren’t put in the book, because he didn’t believe anyone could understand them.

  • @PropiaRealidad
    @PropiaRealidad 6 лет назад +28

    You know, Jushtin has very wide hips for a man, and makes me wonder if he took that fashion to look more like a woman.
    I also wonder if Skywinne was actually overjoyed or sad (or maybe both?) from taking the wand and book from Jushtin. After all, he has low charisma according to the cards (which is ironic considering he went well with many people, but as far as we can see, all of them were "important" or royalty, we don't know for sure how he treated "less" important people) and seemed to care a bit too much on himself and how he looked than on actually improving Mewni. This could tie in on Skywinne being happy for the future of Mewni, but sad because she had such high hopes from her son and he was not up to the task.
    It also seems possible that he is the father or grand-father of Festivia as they both are very similar, which could mean that Star is a true princess/queen of Mewni. This is specially striking as Eclipsa, Jushtin's niece, seems to know Festivia in some way (the face of surprise she made was similar to "how could she become queen?", you know, to me at least).

    Could it be possible that Festivia is ACTUALLY Jushtin’s daughter- or grandaughter- which would make her a Butterfly by blood but not marriage?

  • @Em0angel21
    @Em0angel21 6 лет назад +15

    If Jushtin went on to have children, they would still be descendants of the Butterfly family. Could Festivia be his granddaughter, leading to Star being the descendent through him? So when Eclipsa became "unfit to rule" and Meteora was skipped over by also being seen as "unfit to one day rule", the wand would go through the other possible heir, the cousin, still part of the butterfly family line? When I see images of Jushtin and Festivia, I see similarities making me think they are somehow related. There was also the two sisters somewhere that passed over the eldest. It makes me think that Star is still an heir by still somehow being a descendent.

  • @DarkMasterofCupcakes
    @DarkMasterofCupcakes 6 лет назад +10

    I think that the moment when Skywynne takes back the wand and the Book is kind of up for interpretation in regards to whether Jushtin was reading the situation correctly. It is possible that Skywynne was genuinely upset at having to take away what was, up to that time, her son's birthright...But at the same time, Jushtin does mention that he saw her through a door that was left open a crack, which could indicate that she hadn't wanted him to see how she really felt about getting those objects back.
    But, either way, it is kind of a sad situation. Either Skywynne feels awful for suddenly taking these things away from her son, and basically forcing him to forget a good chunk of his identity, all because she happened to get pregnant with a girl. Or, she was relieved to take the wand and Book away from Jushtin, for whatever reason, contrasting pretty harshly with how much she praised him and talked about looking forward to him ruling Mewni one day when he was young.

    What would be an... Interesting plot line for Star Vs... Would be if, Star actually wanted to learn specific spells from the previous princesses, but due to well... You know, the book and glosseryk being out of her life. She'd end up needing another way to learn, possibly directly from the source of said spells, i.e by talking with said princesses. Whether this be through Omnitraxus' help, or through a custom spell of Star's own design.... Maybe even a modified version OF the Seeing Eye Spell xD. Then we could see EVERY single past princesses in the show, maybe even all at the same time to devise and discuss one combined super spell with them.

    I think that Festivia is a descendent of Jushtin. They are very similar and I find it hard to believe that a random peasent girl would acquire the same cheek marks that generations of royalty have been known for. It COULD be from the wand, as we saw it happened to Marco, but after he let go of the wand his cheeks were back to normal. Also he was married to someone in the spider kingdom and he could have had an affair and had a secret love child or that branch of butterfly could have been lost and just straight up led to them being forgotten. Just saying, he got married and it isn't impossible he had a kid, and he is never mentioned in the book after that other than in his sister's chapter about him volunteering in the war. So maybe he was shunned from his family as well.

    It feels like Jushtin would have loved to visit Asia; those calculated movements when he creates his spells sounds like he has a firm grasp of Ki: the life energy that all things possess that can be manipulated with fine control through meditation. If anything, Jushtin seems like he could have easily Dipped Down very early into his reign and do some very amazing things had he learnt about Ki.
    Doubt this claim? Just look at Veldora from _That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime._ The ancient Dragon spent at least two years trapped inside of Rimaru while the pair figured a way to remove the Magic-draining prison that Veldora was sealed inside of, and during that time Veldora poured over many Sacred Texts that was within Rimarus' memory (I.E.: Videogames and Manga) among that vast collection included works like _Street Fighter_ and _Dragonball,_ and managed to experiment with the Ki Techniques that both series talk about and apply it to the Magic Systems of his world to yield better results when he was finally freed two years later.

    Um....can't help but notice how much Eclipsa looks like Jushtin and with how Solaria didn't want a king, I made up a quick theory:
    Solaria being against having a king and not being interested in romance, keeps going down her path of tyranny. Jushtin is in a relationship but his lover isn't interested in having a baby and wants to put it up for adoption. Jushtin approaches Solaria in private and tells her about his child and how people expect her to have one in the future, despite Solaria having no interest in romance. He offers that Solaria adopts Eclipsa as her own daughter and Solaria agrees, seeing as how Eclipsa is still related by blood.
    As Solaria spends times with Eclipsa, her heart melts and she develops a maternal bond with her, never revealing to her that she is her Aunt, not her mother, and that Jushtin is her father. Solaria's interest Sir Worthy and 'step father' also developed a deep fondness and both were happy to keep this secret.
    Justin also gave Eclipsa the hat she wears now at a younger age, thus why she's seen wearing it almost constantly ever since. This also explains her intellect, her fondness for monsters and other little quirks that she has in common with Jushtin.
    Either way, it's just a fun theory :P
    (and no, this isn't a thing for incest, don't be gross people)
