I can’t believe I’ve only just discovered this interview. Bloody brilliant stuff. I will NEVER forget the first time I heard Billy Connolly. In my humble opinion he is THE best stand up of all time- bar none.
I love how Billy appreciates Stewart Lee. Not all comedians have the bottle to admit they love what he does. And that bit about Robin Williams had me filling up. There are very few people I can say were a genius. Robin was one, Alex Higgins was another, Maradona definitely and John Lennon was and some, but Billy is on my list. A beautiful man with a gift I can’t begin to explain.
The bit about Robin Williams really got me. The fact that Billy, of such wit and talent, said 'of course I do' to Robin's question; didn't take the opportunity to make a joke of it, really got me.
Billy Connolly, stayed human and funny... Never disliked him. Would have enjoyed rolling down the road with him and stopping in at any old diner along the road...
I saw the "where's my charger gone" bit on an episode of WILTY or something a while back.. it was stuck in my head today and so here we are. New podcast for me to be a fan of.
Great interview again Adam. Billy comes across still very funny. I was wondering why you always cut it short and don't say your farewells live on tape still very funny.
John Martyn was a hugely talented singer/songwriter. He was quite the drinker and could be quite a difficult character at times, as his managers and ex wife will attest to. His escapades range from pub fights to hitting a cow in his car at night whilst driving without headlights, extremely drunk in case the police spotted him. Nevertheless, his music is beautiful and is worth checking out.

Yes. Adam does them all himself. It's worth looking at the other people he's interviewed too.
@@LeeHerringFan Thank you, I might just do that, sounds like a nice and cozy little rabbit hole to scuttle down.
@@slidvonjunzt7608 that it is! His chats with childhood friend Louis Theroux are fun.
Only look back to see how far you've come.
Or not come, as is sometimes the case.
Wasn't a fan. I am now, what a guy
How could anyone not be a fan of Billy?
@@Danimal77 They probably loved Robin Williams and found out he was friends with Connolly.

@@davidrobinson2776 Lost the bottom of his right leg to alcoholism-related diabetes. Didn't stop the drinking. Sad, really.
John Martyn... look for Solid air...beautiful music.
Rowen Atkinson had nothing to do with Monty Python ????
