Only just found out about this wonderful lady. What a fantastic singer and performer she is. Great to have a Dolly that can sing out those songs and still get the meaning across too. Well done Miss Maye. Why aren’t you a bigger star with your bane in lights all over broadway. Still performing so brilliantly well into your 80s is remarkable and still with a fabulous voice. I love you!!!! Xxx
Those of us who know singing are blown away by this video. Marilyn demonstrates phenomenal pitch and breath control and power. Simply awesome, and on regional theater too.
@@justinleemiller I'm pretty sure this is a feed from the sounddesk (so no ambient from the auditorium). At the end you can *just* make out applause picked up on her mic. Fabulous vocal technique!
To mitchellivers' posting of the title song, a singer named Scott Denny, who was in the production for all four seasons, left the longest Comment I've ever seen on YT about what a joy it was to work with MM. He said that stage is 150 feet wide and 60 feet deep, and the theatre had 1780 seats. Do read the whole thing!

Galveston, 1985-87. Jack Dabdoub as Vandergelder. Feels like a dress rehearsal.
Yes. There aren't any petticoats. She is kicking bare ankles.
I think you’re right…there would have been a big ovation. She sounds fantastic
