I sat in one today with a twin turbo engine. It was really beautiful. It was real comfortable to sit in. It was like sitting on a couch. It also had a performance exhaust. Sounded really good. If I wasn't so poor right now I would buy one!

I am very fortunate to have spoken to JZD in '97 whilst he was in his New York office working on the prototype to his new creation and it is a shame he never had a second chance. I own a Oct '81 DeLorean and I have been lucky enough to drive it around the test track at the factory shown in the video during the 2006 DeLorean Eurofest.
the factory you see them deloreans roll out of is just up the road from where i live in dunmurry. my dad was at the docks that day with his cousin who worked on the boat as a maintenance engineer. i still see the factory today, although all it does is make french car tyres. the amasing thing is, the tyre tracks from the deloreans can still be seen on the floor of the factory today

All those Deloreans are just waiting to be bought and be driven to their new homes,what an exciting time that had to have been! I bet the original Delorean Time Machine that was used in Back to the Future is in that shipment somewhere.
I own a Delorean. For the sake of all the fellows who built mine, and all the others, I really wish that the government had stuck it out with this car. Perhaps when interest rates came down, the speed limit went up, oh well. Thanks guys, I really like mine! Happy St. Pat's!!

@86MajkL86 come to think of it, there were problems with most of the first 500 cars, so some of them were kept in Ireland. The first hundred were most definitely left in Ireland. So If the first 400 were shipped there would be some from the range of 6XX-1XXX vins coming across

@pieisgood928 Actually, six of them. In total, six 1981 DMC-12s were used in the production of the movie trilogy. If I'm not mistaken, that's one for each movie, with a crash/damage backup.
Im so glad John Delorean could support the American Economy by having the Netherlands build these. It is no secret that we go through more toasters, ovens and other appliances in this country that makes these crappy automobiles. They even upped the dorkiness of the video by adding white lab coats.

crash test ratings from that time are 5.5 out of 7, supposedly. Actually stood up well in the crash test. May look daunting, but the cabin stays intact
My DeLorean still has the tape marks on my bumpers from that styrofoam! And the paint is still in near fantastic original form! Wow. Great video. But lose the muzak...
I own car number 958, and i never see it any pictures or videos from back then... :-( The closest to my car is on this video...car number 962 getting on to the ship via the ramp.
alright, alright guys. I forgot about the entire front and rear bumpers. My DeLo is in storage, and it does have a chip in the paint in the front bumper. Two things I've learned when I was daily driving the D was that you NEVER turtle wax brushed steel. Also, changing tail lights is a pain in the butt because of 20+ year old rusty screws, and bad circuit boards. What else besides the VIN do you want for me to prove I have a De Lorean?

Yea that quote was just joke using Henry Fords famous saying about his Model T Ford. The only other color I like for the Delorean is the 24k gold plated one even though they're expensive and rare. Stainless is the perfect color for the Delorean. I rode in a Delorean for the 1st time a few days ago. IT WAS AWESOME! The V6 felt like it had some tourqe. Hopefully I'll be able to get one, but until then I'll just have to drool. Long Live the Stainless Wonder!

What paint? The body panels are grade 304 Stainless Steel over a fibreglass epoxy underbody.
