    They average UAW worker makes a median income above money in the USA. Why the car companies can't understand that if your own employees can't afford to buy a car it is to high for most other buyers .

    • @RichE-p3v
      @RichE-p3v 12 часов назад +2

      I believe within four years, a U.A.W. employee will be making $40/HR which equates to $80,000/YR. An average employee will make easily over $100,000/YR with OT. My friend is UAW and works on the line at Wayne Assembly in Wayne MI and easily has been averaging $100K/yr with OT. That doesn't even include profit sharing, which he averages $10K/YR outside of his base pay. This definitely increases vehicle prices.

    • @MP-ph4ei
      @MP-ph4ei 12 часов назад +4

      @RichE-p3v I am also a UAW worker as a Test Driver, I make over 100k per. However I would not purchase cars at today's price especially when you add in the interest rates and stupid dealer marketability garbage charge. The dealers are hurting the auto industry as much as the companies.

    Just bought a 2024 Tacoma TRD OffRoad - Not even my Mercedes was that expensive after expensive repair costs. There is a niche for prime custom models, but pricing is out of control and more people are being pushed towards leasing meaning the wealth Gap will continue because you own nothing. Toyota needs to realize pricing was what allowed them to enter the US Market. Quality cemented their market share. Both are at risk.

      I know several. But what brands like Toyota and jeep don’t understand is that at nearly 70k the people who can afford it are getting range rovers,bmws, and Lexus. At 70k people want to be at least rewarded with the badge. Toyota and jeep are forgetting who they are. They are an everyday people’s car brand. Their highest trims shouldn’t be more than 50k.

      There has been negotiations at the highest level of a bailout for certain American car companies with the intent to bankrupt foreign companies when the global economic crash occurs, leaving only the American companies to survive within the continental U.S. that’s why prices haven’t dropped significantly yet but once the powers that be are sure of the collapse prices will plummet.

    I learned to drive on a manual, and have had 5 manual transmission vehicles all my life, and my latest new vehicle, a 2024, would have been a manual, if I could find one. But it has a 6 speed auto.
    Because of that, I kept my 1996 Ford Ranger Splash 3.0l V6, 5spd manual, instead of trading it in, just to still be able to still drive a manual, which I find more engaging, then drive an auto, and keeps ne more focused as well.

    Most loyal Toyota customers were purchasing these new SUV’s and trucks because they are reliable. Now the new smaller turbo engines are not so reliable, so why even pay $65k for a brand new 4-Runner that doesn’t meet the reliability? It’s not like they are fun vehicles, they’re pretty bland tbh to be paying that much.

  • @le8148

    Sometimes strange comparisons are legit!
    For instance I’m debating right now between a “practical” car and a “fun” car. I really want both, but can only get one. I have a crosstrek now, should I get another or should i get an acura integra manual or a vw gti? I know it’s apples and oranges, but I’m in serious conflict. Pros of one is cons of the others. I can make any work, but will be disappointed in some lost capability. No all around perfect car for me.
    My hubby was in same boat recently. He wanted a truck for truck things, but wanted a sedan for daily driver and road trips. But, can only have one. He chose a sedan. Still wants a truck, but it is what it is.

Not a single mfg will recognize that throwing a turbo or two to bolster a tiny four cylinder motor is a recipe for disaster. These little motors can not handle the pressures created by turbos. Don't give me the crap that a Corolla at 28,000 is what it should be. Corolla is a subcompact and the smallest car in their fleet. That car should be 21,000 base model and not a penny more. Affordable my A.S!

    No one has any cash Toyota and customers cars have depreciated too fast creating negative equity - you're not going to sell expensive vehicles 👍

    these car companies are just paving the way for Chinese cars to enter the market and of corse people want more reasonably affordable cars.

    Toyotas SUV’s & trucks have gotten stupid expensive. Very few people are going to pay $70k for a midsize truck, especially when your quality has taken a huge hit. There are already reports of 2025 Tundras with engine failures. It’s pathetic that Toyota is still pushing these trucks out when they clearly haven’t figured out what the problem is
    You can’t command these insane prices while delivering Ford quality

      And now, no child will ever learn stick. I'm a 32 year old and have never needed to know how to drive stick. Been driving since 8th grade.

    Irony is a 20 something year old carless RUclips guy criticizing the largest auto manufacturer in the world. "Starts at" is misleading. These are the HIGHEST TRIM POSSIBLE for these vehicles. Maybe Zach needs a pay raise and he can buy a car to drive.

    No car or truck is worth more than 20k and I'll never buy a vehicle over 20k. It's just a car, it's not a house! These cars will be junk in 5 years, and a house can last forever!

    Toyota needs a 330hp Turbo 4 cylinder. Bring back the Taco 3.5L V6. Make it the size of the original Tundra that was a great truck. Put a twin turbo V6 in the Large Grand Hylander, Land Cruiser and new 4 Runner. Their grills are all ugly and the body’s are Cartoon looking. Like the 2000s Land Cruisers and Tundra back then were nice. Keep them simple looking.

    My two used toyota and lexus purchases allow me to watch from the market sidelines all of these overpriced models sitting on borrowed time. I have the free time to watch with loads of discretionary income saved up.
