Porsche pricing and the arrogance of many of their dealerships may be coming back to haunt them. I am not surprised or saddened by this event. On the other hand, they make nice cars!
The other day I impressed my girlfriend here in Western New York by saying a handful of words with an Australian accent. I owe it all to you! Been watching your videos since you had 6-7 hundred total so I've had lots of lessons over the years though that's not why I watch you. Thanks a bunch!
I am amazed, that some Chinese have the disposable income to buy a Porsche. I own a Porsche 911 Turbo S. Aside from the cost, the maintenance costs are stunning!
Go to china, you’ll find out it’s very capitalist and the people very nice, and there’s tons of money running around the place, it’s a wealthy nation. Your bias blurs.
All luxury brands (LV, Rolex, Prada, Gucci etc.) had a bad sales in China this year. It is because of a difficult economic situation over there. It has nothing to do with Porsche not having a competite EV. Average Porsche customer is not an EV person.
I went to a Porsche dealer in Shenzhen recently. I wanted to test drive a Taycan electric (I wasn't actually going too buy one at 1.3 million yuan). They didn't even have electric cars! They said 'next month.' They had lots of cars -- filling up the showroom and the car park and nobody looking at them-- and few staff. When eventually a sales person helped us she was just not that helpful. She said that she would not compare to other brands because people bought the cars because of the brand name. My question was in what ways are their SUVs better than a Huawei/ Aito SUV, for example. The sports cars are nice quality and have classic looks in a vintage sort of way -- but the price.

@since when a high performance sports car with 500+hp is meant to be considered affordable? Quality of engineering, high performance, heritage, brand recognition, strong resale values are important factors.
@@kalex381 I'm talking about good quality affordable cars. Maybe the Chinese will make quality race car affordable too. The west aren't calling the shots anymore, we are moving into a new world.
The Chinese people are not stupid. Yes, they are brand conscious, but not to the extent that they will pay money hand over fist for cars that are not significantly better (in their eyes) than their homemade brands. In Australia, their dealers are really only focused on new car buyers.
You are doing a great job but I am looking forward to a Chinese alternative to the Porsche 911 which would give equal or even better value in terms of pricing and quality.I have had enough of the price gouging by Porsche
In sporty cars it s all about handling, and Porsche is way ahead of any brand!, and by the way the handling is not how grip the steering wheel, it’s very very expensive task in car building, And last important point, not any given car brand even with no limit funds can get even close to Porsche handling, that’s what the price originating from. Just another question if buyers really appreciate and need this fine bread car it’s up to buyers. 90%?of buyers go just for brand
Porsche sales and survival is of small significance in the take over EVs of their polluting ICE vehicles. South America, Mexico, Asia, Africa understand and appreciate the value of very reasonably priced Chinese high tech EVs as they solve the devastating impact on the planet of carbon emissions from all ICE vehicles.China is by far the largest manufacturer of cars (EVs ) on the planet and will continue to be so as their sales grow exponentially. It is mind boggling, amazing, incredible how a country with only a very short history of car manufacturing has reached the pinnacle of biggest car manufacturer on the planet in so short a time. Excellent cars at cheap prices is why.
Tesla is the largest BEV maker in the world. BYD includes hybrids in its EV count which we all know are not true electric vehicles but ICE range extenders.
@@FrankiePo89 BYD is not blocked in the US or EU. Nobody would buy a BYD in the US if it costs the same as a Tesla. BYDs are sold in the EU but nobody are buying them. Keep making excuses ... I meaning coping.
I’m surprised how tiny Porsche is as an automaker. They sell barely 300,000 cars per year? They are an expensive boutique manufacturer of once great cars
Shame. The Taycan is a beautiful vehicle and has some really good features. I wouldn’t have one, as I prefer what I get in my Tesla to what comes with any other make, but not everyone would see it my way and I could see how some more wealthy folks might prefer the Taycan. It’s a shame about the battery problems.
Let me see if I got this right, I am on the jury and I am to feel sorry for a lowly Porsche buyer because Porsche screwed them. SORRY MATE if you CAN buy a car that cost $101,500 with no options, as far as I a concerened you are on your own. Eat it rich boy.

A few weeks ago a dealership wouldn’t take my order because I didn’t have enough options on my factory build. That’s crazy and arrogant
Crazy right? Now customers have to beg companies to take your money 😂 All the best to these coys practicing this. Watches, Bags, Cars
Remember that that’s where 90% of their profit is is in options. Options of the key to any profitable automobile manufacturer, and dealerships
FK Porsche

The pricing on the options are beyond ridiculous. They make more money on options than selling cars

China has over 6 million millionaires.
Each and everyone can afford a 911, much less a Macan,
They don’t want them anymore.

BEVs naturally have better handling due to lower centre of gravity.
