Another title that can be used is "The 13th Friday"
When the 2009 film was going to be having a sequel, it was going to be called "The Death of Jason Voorhees". I guess they really wanted Jason to be officially dead in the 13th film of the franchise and thus make it the last one.

I think that one of the things that makes Jason great is how unique the movies can be apart of each other. Maybe its just me, but I like the one off movies with unique spin to the formula myself.

Nothing takes me back to the good old days in junior high playing the Friday the 13th video game with the boys. Miss it so much.

The Jason Universe social media (Instagram at least) is also following A24 , Blumhouse, Sundance, and Call of Duty.
So it seems Jason content is also coming to Warzone. I doubt Blumhouse means a new movie from them because again, New Line (and by extension Warner Bros Discovery since the own New Line) is gripping tightly onto the rights.
Friday the 13th is my favorite horror franchise and this news is the best thing ever! I spent so many hours playing the video game and watching the movies over and over again and pausing at specific scenes, if you know, you know ;)
I hope these new movies bring life back into the fanbase and franchise

It SHOULD be thriving but unfortunately the lawsuit prevented the developers from updating the game at all thus causing the game to die slowly alongside its public servers. Great game with a sad fate unfortunately
@@elhombredelsaco3995 after they took away the player on player damage I stopped playing. The only way I could survive was attacking another player so that they couldn’t run as fast, then I would run away and let Jason get them as I escaped.

The announcement was a big fat nothing. No movie. No TV show update.

@@thomasffrench3639 I’m totally open for that to happen and make something that feels truly Indie horror like similar to the early films. Blumhouse doing it would just make it feel too mainstream and too much like their Halloween trilogy. Plus Blumhouse already has a shit ton of horror IPs they’re adapting and remaking anyway so give someone else a try.
For the "Immersive Experience" part, i'm thinking maybe a Friday The 13th VR Game? Like a Never Hike Alone inspired game where you investigate the story of Jason.
If you want to scratch the Jason itch. I recommend that you watch the fan film, F13 Vengeance. With CJ Graham as Elias Voorhees, Jason's dad. And also, Never Hike Alone. Both have sequels too.😃

For Me, I'm alright about this news, but a few years back, I had an idea for film about adapting "terrordrome", for those who don't remember well, terrordrome is basically Mortal Kombat/Super Smash Bro, but with horror icon killers, if the Jason universe might be video game accessible, why not a remaster of the game, a modern take on these icons, even including the recent reboot films to be included here, thoughts on the potential idea.
New Line is the house that Freddy built. So I think We’re gonna get another Freddy movie before a Jason movie 🤷🏼♂️

So Jason is essentially doing the same thing Halloween and DC are doing except for a new movie. What's hilarious is Jason gets more respect in video games like MK X and now Multi-versus over his own studios these days lol.
I do, however, have an idea for a new game. I'm just not a writer so bear with me...
Do the game in the chapter story-style of Alan Wake, and in every board you start as a new character in the game that has a part to play in their own "scene" which acts as a level. Different camp counselors or townspeople, different perspectives and views, each facing off and surviving an attack from Jason at the end. At one point later in the game, or maybe even more than once, Jason revives from an attack and you play as him after everyone leaves and he gets up and walks away... maybe gathering items dropped by counselors or you have to quietly stalk the characters without being seen, then one by one you narrow down the characters by taking them out with special kills! You play basically most of the game off and on as the main character(s), but switch off at the beginning of each new level to play as someone else to move the story and day/night along. At the end, you fight Jason and take him down with some clever way not explained to you and it's multiple steps in order to make it harder. Then, once you beat the game, the ending video shows Jason's not dead and we leave it open for the next canon story game.

They need to remake/remaster the Friday the 13th game or just start updating it again. That game was genuinely amazing but not only was the game great but there would always be people talking in game chat.

What if we also get a VR Friday the 13th game in a first person perspective? Imagine being at Camp Crystal Lake trying to survive the night avoiding Jason?
It would be like Friday the 13th Game, but with better graphics, more counselor selection, more Jason skins (remake Jason, Freddy vs. Jason). Having a person playing as Jason online in VR would be scary as hell.
@@bobcharlie1666 I would want that in a regular F13th game but for a F13th VR game I'd want it similar to Alien Isolation Jason is killing others on Camp Crystal Lake while you try to avoid being spotted by Jason to get out alive.
This has me very excited.
In terms of Games I would find it interesting to get a game where we actually play as Jason and go through a Campaign, but an Outlast style game would also be really cool.
Just imagine being a journalist going to investigate Camp Crystal Lake, but get stranded, and have to find to Escape(the only way I could see you being completely stranded to the point where you can't just walk away would be if CCL has been completely walled of, and/or there's a 3rd party involved that puts an Ankle Bracelets on you that restricts your ability to just run/drive away).
I'd also love for them to take another crack at an Asymmetric Game(just not in place of something new).
In a perfect world they'd be able to get the same team back, and have them just redo the same game with more content, better visuals(mostly just better character models), crossplay, better servers/netcode, the option for bigger lobbies, etc.
On the TV front(and eventually Movies), I hope they eventually build up to another Freddy & Jason Movie.
I know people are tired of Cinematic Universes(I'm not, because I love them when they are done well), and Freddy is also in limbo, but if we can eventually get them to share the screen again I'll be overjoyed(especially if they are able to keep it a little scary this time).

First off, great report! Secondly, I share your pain of no new Nightmare on Elm Street content. As I was watching "Fallout" I kept thinking the guy who played Norman (Lucy's brother) might make an interesting Freddy. As for the Friday the 13th news, I have faith that they will eventually settle the movie rights issue. I want a new trilogy, not a streaming series. But to be honest, I'll take what I can get. More Jason, more Feddy.

I heard a rumor…. A Kind Of Violence was supposed to be the new Friday the 13th movie, but due to the I.P. Rights issues they altered it to a different story. HOWEVER I’m not overly thrilled about anything movie-wise Jason. (Except AKOV which is now something else) There has not been a really good “don’t go into the woods” movie since Wrong Turn with Eliza Dushku(Faith Lehane of BTVS fame). Don’t Hike Alone 1&2 were decent entries but F13 always clocks in around only 90mins and the kills fly by with little to no dread or care for the characters. Much like the new Strangers movie, it really seems like there are not really good slasher directors. Even the new Halloween lacked the dread, buildup and shock of past entries. AND IM ABSOLUTELY NOT LOOKING FOR AN ORIGIN STORY! Especially for Jason. Horror more times than not, does NOT need an explanation. Sure give us the Randy that has a theory or story about it…. But DO NOT walk us through it with flashbacks and/or monologues at the beginning or end. We want the kills, BUT we abso-fucking-lutely NEED the story to have a reason for the characters to be as they are and ones we care about and want to survive. Nuff’ said

Ive just been wanting a horror fighting game for the past 8 years now.all the iconic baddies and costumes,gameplay kinda like mortal kombat but maybe a survival mode too
I could see this show running from multiple seasons using maybe one of the movies as the basis for their whole season and not like old school television. 22 episode seasons. Maybe like 8 to 10 episode season. Barely any filler. Pretty much redoing a movie, a season where you could expand on certain things that didn't get expanded on in certain movies. Change things you want to change and just put in a lot more lore and backstory. If they did something like that I think that would make gangbusters
