Would be interested in seeing it comparing to gc3 and trackman IO
Coming soon!
in pratrice mode the colour of the shot change with the use a different club ?

I will use the Home Town Hero, I use it and GsPro with my R10. Very interested in Home Town Hero update.
Come soon in the Course review video!
Can you output the small screen to a larger touch screen monitor? As well as a projector?
I would imagine it’s a pain to have to bend down to adjust direction etc after each shot,
You could split it between the projector and a screen but as far as I have found you cant control the r50 from that screen.
As I'm currently well endowed with a lauch monitor and have reached the point where I hate hitting balls and only play golf courses, I'm wondering if the 43,000 stipulated courses at St-Georges de Beauce and Beauceville in Quebec Canada are part of the inventory.
This is the only condition that will allow me to acquire the Garmin R-50
Thank You for the answer
Alain Jacob
If your course is on the list it will allow you to play it as all the Garmin mapped courses are now playable.
How can I delete a previous practice session with the R-50?
I’m only interested in GSPro, so that integration is crucial. Home town hero is fun, but GSPro is golf.
An official Integration is coming soon apparently however unconfirmed as yet.
How I can delect the last shot I hit ?
If you head into the data table view that would be your best bet.
In range mode, can you have more than one person or "bag"? Or is just limited to one person's stats per session?
As far as I am aware it is limited to one player on the range.
thought there would be less of a delay on this, skytak with a screen vibes,
The delay hasnt been something we've noticed to be honest. 2 seconds is normally where i find it takes me out of the experience.
How accurate is the face angle if you compare it to the quad?
So in a quick test the numbers are pretty solid however comparing two cameras in two positions is tricky as inevitably the angle of view will be a bit different. The most important thing is that the data is consistent and I haven't seen any outliers yet.
How do you align the unit to your intended target line? The GC3 uses an alignment stick to help you determine your ‘parallel to the unit’ target line. How does this R50 cater for alignment? Thanks.
With the R50 there’s an alignment mode where you place two balls side by side each in specific zones, and you use these to set the alignment for the device.
When I go to Garmin's list of 43,000 golf clubs, it says contour and update. First of all, what does that mean?
How can we be sure that this one is playable at home
using the Garmin R-50?
If your course is on the list it will allow you to play, As for the contour and update, from what I know is it means some of the topography of the course may be out.
Will e6 work on screen also awesome golf , at ninute do yiu need nore hardwsre like pc or laptop etc
At the moment you would need a pc we think but official integrations are inbound which may well allow for in unit play
Is there a protective case?
Not yet but it won’t be long till 3rd party lock docks appear on the market
How close to the screen can you be
You can in theory be as close as you want however recommendations are no closer than 2m away
Does it cater for speed training ie club speed without a ball?
Not that I know of yet but I will test this tomorrow and post a short!
Can I try this out at your showroom?
Absolutely! We have one in our Surrey demo room and up in Warrington!
No audio?
Some people are reporting the audio is only playing from one side for some reason.
It would be nice if you could operate it from an iPad so you could put the iPad on a stand above the r50. I’m 6’2” and I don’t want to be leaning over to see and touch the screen.
Definitely a valid point, I am fairly sure remote control will be possible however we havent spent a huge amount of time with the unit so I havent discovered it yet!
The worry for me would be a rebounding ball hitting and smashing the screen
I imagine a fair few will be afraid of that so I cant think it will be long till a lock dock emerges!
have seen anyone hit a putt on this yet?
It allows for putting on Home Tee Hero. We are going to test this tomorrow in our course video! Stay tuned!
Looks decent but the price for what you get... I dont know.. If they had got rid of the touch screen and reduced the price plus making the menus a little bit easier to navigate & being slightly less fiddly it would sell like hot cakes, (like they could easily have made it so you hit the shot to on range view, then it would circles though the menu by showing you, your metric & shot vision before going back to the range, which I don't know they didn't add that as standard tbh been more of a selling point instead of having to navigate though the LM 🤯, which takes you away from the hitting position just to find out metrics ), and being able to cast to different options like showing the metrics on the LM and range on the projector, looks like currently whatever is shown on the LM is cast to the projector, but ultimately seems expensive just to play home town hero..🤣 To be honest even if they changed all that I would still purchase a used GC3 / new Eye Mini / Full swing. Especially all with a native GSPro connectors
The data tiles can be shown on the launch monitor independent of the projector. Tbh this was my first time getting properly hands on as it was a first impressions video so there will be more info to come. To be fair though, the GSPro native play on GC3 and Eye Mini is pretty mega and I'd like to see Garmin respond with an in launch monitor solution! That'd be crazy!
If you remove the touch screen how will you interface with the unit? How will you play courses and use the driving range? Oh I know, you would need a projector and more than likely a PC. I believe the R50 was meant to eliminate the need for all of these. This is why the price is $5K. Between my BLP, the BLP yearly license, projector and gaming PC, I'm easliy at $5K. I will be waiting for additional reviews but I believe I will be selling my BLP and going with the R50......
@@checkdatechnique I am probably being picky to be honest I just feel there are better LM out there for that price BUT don't get me wrong it does look really good. But If I'm honest now looking at it & to answer your question, I would have liked to have seen two models one for touch screen and one without, But both to have mouse and keyboard support & dual output for monitor and projector which would truly get rid of the need for a PC. Oh god yeah I understand the price my set up is probably around 10k (although I haven't told the Mrs realistically how much its cost so far) I think my PC is around 4k alone not to mention my GC Quad & projector. I honestly think that Garmin have gone a completely different direction than most LM out there & have thought outside the box, but like above would have liked to have seen a couple of options.
Did you buy it or it was lended by garming for a "good" review?
We have to buy all of our stock from all of our suppliers and never take payment for any review videos. We genuinely like the product and tried to present the cons as well. Hope you found out some new info!
@@GolfSwingSystems How you where able to get a review of a product that has not ship to the public yet? Garmin send you one for review.
@@MLespyou’re a wanker
still nee a pc if you want to use GSpro, which is a dealbreaker
Not sure why it would be a deal breaker. The software is massively better than Skytrak, and does not require the room of a Mevo+. I am impressed that all the data is measured rather than calculated and even some high end launch monitors get this wrong.
Sure the built in course simulator is a bit cartoonish but still very playable. So if you are committed to using GSPro (and it is superb), this might be a bit expensive, but only you know if the other advantages the R50 appears to have are worth the extra cost.
Which launch monitor do you think you'd go for instead?
@GolfSwingSystems i feel like if I'm going to use gspro, and be hooked up to a projector. The Eye mini lite is more affordable and still provides all key metrics needed.
@justinstephenson9360 so between the R50 and Eye mini lite, which one would you purchase, if you intented on only indoor use with a projector and wanted to run GSpro?
@@Kramsuitnop Tricky choice. One big negative for me with the mini lite is lack of face angle or face to path data - although you could probably infer that from other data. (that may say more about my swing, that I need that data!). The R50 definitely has the better interface and probably the better long term potential if you use Garmin gear on course (which I do), but whether that is worth the extra money - not so sure
in pratrice mode the colour of the shot change with the use a different club ?
Reply
It does as far as i am aware however i dont know how to specify colours.
