My god you are the first person i've seen mentioned that bloody fuel pump haha. It constantly used to cut off so i basically had to hover the pump over the hole just to get it to run
The MT125, also gives the same feeling that you’re on top and way too close to the front of the bike. If it didn’t feel so up-front and close I would handed my money over without a doubt. More than anything, the bike has to feel comfortably 100% right.
i have the same problem with the gear i found giving the bike a little rock back and forwards sorted that. but my bike has always had a problem that sometimes it will jumping from 6 gear to 5. the indicators started playing up. i got my in 2018 shortly after it release and only payed £3800 for my new because the sales rep had taken his commission off.
If you only pull the clutch in half way instead and try change the gear then it usually works without having to rock the bike back and forth. Thats very good for it brand new
The reason I picked the cb 125 R instead of the F, is the wide back wheel on the 125 R. I used to ride a honda bike similar size back wheel as the 125 F, and I went down on bends a few times as the back wheel would easily slide over small pebbles. Whereas the wide back tyre on the 125 R, has got much better grip on the road which reduces dramatically the chances of sliding off, and gives much more stability for new riders. Eg when filtering. It eliminates shaking induced by the riders nerves. The bike stays planted on the road. So just for the wide tyres on the 125 R I would recommend al new riders get the R model. It could mean the difference between having an accident happen or not having and accident happen.

I’ve actually come to buy a 18 plate cb125r due to one of your hates. The riding position. I’ve still got my Lexmoto LXR but at the old age of 46 my back and hips feel broken every time I get on and off my LXR. The only thing I’m not keen on is the wind blast but I’ve bought a screen for my cbr125r though so hopefully that will give me a little protection. 😁👍
I've got a 23 and yeah down into 1st is definitely a thing, 2nd to 3rd too. And yeah the riding position is quite on the wrists, definitely compared to the 125f.. But as you say, still a great bike, way better than the f.
Yeah I agree but the beauty of this thing is it really will hold its value for that short amount of time, and reselling it will be an absolute cake walk
This is a fantastic bike apart from the price. The cb125r has two engine versions a two valve and a newer 4 valve engine which has more power. My bike is a 2021 model and has the latest engine. Im 15 stone and i can reach speeds of 70mph with a 50lts Rhinowalk cargo bag on the seat with all my camping gear.
Yeah exactly, not sure exactly which engine I have as mine is a 2019 plate, I definitely have had it up to speeds of 70 and over but never with a headwind or anything like that! Oooo you do a bit of camping!
I believe that the two valve engine the spark plug is on the side of the head and the 4 valve the spark plug sits behind the head inline with the air filter box.
Are they because my ybr used to do 80 downhill and easily 70 on the flat. I used to get overtaken on my commute by a yzf and varadero. If this struggles to hit 65 on the dual carriageway then it sounds like one of the slower ones. Unless it's just got a dead accurate clock.
🤯 Not all that long ago 125's were absolute max 2.2k and that was for the top of the range, the gearing thing is something you'll come across on many a bike gearbox, it's to do with the positions in the gearbox - you might find similar if you think your in 1st filtering but are actually in 2nd and stall then fire it up and panic thinking you can't get it into first - tbf though my Deauville 650 isn't too fussy about gears, I can (but don't) just stick it in 5th and drive around all day.
Yeah to be fair in terms of the gearing I have just got very used to it and it pretty much isn't ever even a problem anymore! Was having to be really really picky for this video because I genuinely absolutely adore this little bike!
Yeah ive had the "it doesnt look or sound like a 125" as well. So as far as I'm concerned, its not 😂. Or we could just down shift to 1 before coming to a stop like we were taught...
To be honest mate I always drop to 1st at a set of lights or whenever I stop. Slightly letting out the clutch at a stand still works too, seems to drop into first pretty easily

I have the 2023 model. I was having the problem with not being able to put the bike in gear when i was riding it the first few days. As you gradually release the clutch the bike goes in to gear or out of gear, (depending what you are trying to do) every single time. So I have no problem with that anymore. I just do the clutch release method.
@pudmoto - I was stopped at the lights today on the 4th gear. I had to do the clutch gradually release, a few times to get it into neutral and then in 1st. But it can all be done in a few seconds.

Yeah exactly, not too bad of an issue though cause I don't really ever stick it in neutral mid ride
I think you have switch off the engine in neutral and switch it back on for it select first again. The kill switch also works, although not adviced.
Figured out when I owned it just letting the clutch out a little seemed to take the pressure off the gearbox to allow you to easily slip it into first
