  • @tristfularcadia
    @tristfularcadia 5 месяцев назад

    After watching the intro before, he told us which lens was which I actually guess correctly. The reason I was able to figure it out was for lens number one you’re having a hard time zooming out quickly enough in one of the shots, and if I remember correctly, that was one of the issues with the Tamron it had a pretty long zoom throw. There was also better fall off on the field as well on the Sony. The thing is, I had to really hunt for it. I believe the image stabilization, likely makes it worth it to buy the more expensive lens. If you’re professional videographer. Additionally, the extra 20 mm is also probably worth it as in Videography zooming in is a lot more difficult to maintain quality than just photography itself. Unless you’re shooting 8K, which there’s probably not very many people doing that at the moment. And if they are, I feel sorry for the wallets as storage can get expensive at that point in time.
    The new Tamron G2 might be a better contender, though, as it has image stabilization has improved sharpness and is only $100 more expensive.

    thank you for the video! I am doing horse photograohy (sport, riding) and portraits. I bought the Tamron 35-150 lens to start for both goals. absolutely love the lens, but I am missing some range. do you think it is worth upgrading to 70-200 or 70-180? (sony would have the advantage of a teleconvertor... but is only worth it when I start making money with my photgraphy)

    • @BeyondTheGame_E
      @BeyondTheGame_E  7 месяцев назад

      Depends what your expectation or need is for the extra range. Going from 150 to 200 is great if you just wish you had about 15% more zoom. But it won't turn a wide shot into a close-up. And also, regarding teleconverters, there is a lost of image quality with a teleconverter that is quite similar to simply scaling up your footage in post. So personally, I'm not a huge fan.

  • @firpofutbol
    @firpofutbol 11 месяцев назад

    Have you tried using a 135mm 1.8? Obviously not a lens you could use for an entire game but using clear image zoom does give some flexibility. I would imagine youd capture the most magical shots with it.

    • @BeyondTheGame_E
      @BeyondTheGame_E  11 месяцев назад

      Clear image zoom is not enough since I film in 4K. I need way more zoom range than that to capture video during a sporting event. Also a 135mm minimum would be way too tight for me.

  • @Pirelli7
    @Pirelli7 10 месяцев назад

    70-300 f/4.5-5.6 is good for my Sony a7iv? I’ll use this lens for soccer videos. I don’t know if 70-200 is good, I think is bored to see all shots at 200mm with always the same angle.

    • @BeyondTheGame_E
      @BeyondTheGame_E  10 месяцев назад

      The Sony A7IV is a full frame camera and I’m not sure there is a full frame version of the 70-300mm lens. Also, moving around the pitch and filming from different perspectives will give you much more shot variety than an extra 100mm on the zoom.

    3:28 at the image sharpness test, were the two lenses used with two different camera body? The skin tones look so different, specially the subtle redness in shadow with Sony lens, giving the picture more lively feel than the tamron version, is the color difference due to different camera body, different color grade or just the color reproduction of lens? @@BeyondTheGame_E In the mid-eighties I had a fellowship in the Electronic Film Media Program at the Banff Centre, Banff, Alberta. There were eight of us in the program. I was amazed and impressed with the talent & cooperative ability of the seven Canadians who I worked with on a daily basis. We had Sony's top engineer on board and a back up staff of four others. Each of us rotated in our roles as director, editor, camera, lighting, etc. on the projects. The CBC broadcasted a number of the programs. The point I want to get to is that from that experience I know that you & your buddies will make a great online: "Sport's Videography College," which will up the ante in the world & help others to share in the joy which u have experienced in the past. Good luck! 😎😎

    I noticed a difference in the beginning shots 😅 the Sony looks crisper for some reason to me.

      Yeah you're probably right but I highly doubt this will happen unless Tamron reaches out to me with a free lens.

    The best and cheap one lens for basketball and outdoor football game ? ZV-10

    • @BeyondTheGame_E
      @BeyondTheGame_E  7 месяцев назад +1

      When it comes to lenses, best and cheap are total opposites. If you want the best, pick one from this video. If you want the cheapest, pick any lens with a similar zoom range that you can afford.

      @@BeyondTheGame_E how about sony 18-200mm f3.5-6.3 ? The used one under $400. This one for youth baseball, basketball and football.

      @@youngw9270 it's a good budget option. But it's not nearly as good as the lenses in this video.
