For real, i just saw a friend play it so i got it and just joined in, them a few hours late we was 5 friends having a blast! One of the best games ive ever played something totaĺly new and cool. Then we got destroyed by a clan again and again and then we found out u could farm a giant worm and get perma op stats and eveyone stopped playing. Such a stupid design option from a fantastic game idea.
I really miss LO :( I could not put it down when it first came out even though the zergs were terrible my guerilla warfare team was soo fun to play with during the peak times. Running through the woods or grappeling through the woods being chased by 2 falcos were amazing. Also because we were small being able to use the crab too annoy the big groups was so fun
Nothing will replace LO. Whatever happened to the brain off the devs, we will never know, but they had a pure gem in their hands and they fucking ruined it
Sure, nothing will be a carbon copy of what the game was, but it will be nice to have something close to it. There's nothing like what that game was and it will be nice to see more games developed in that format. I'd rather have something close than nothing at all.
well said. Devs are bunch of young idiots. They had a huge Admin abuse problem they happily ignored and rather saw their baby die than changed to the liking of the community.
This early days of LO was incredible. It was so unique and I joined many clans and had many interactions, set backs, and adventure. the clan issue could have been solved with 8 person max teams and a better balance of armor and weapon.
Thanks for making me aware of this game. I still play some LO now and then (S4 private servers), mainly because I like the atmosphere so much, but I'm basically playing alone at this point. I really hope Sand can capture some of that LO magic (although I'll miss the combat system).
Yeah, I’ve been tempted to boot up last oasis lately, but hesitate because how dead it is. The combat system was special but I’m hoping the fps in sand will draw a bigger audience. I’m thinking and hoping it’ll be like off LO and sea of thieves has a baby lol
@@CLXCKWXRK Yes, that baby would be sweet! I always dreamt of some Domus type walkers (or that unfinished battleship) with primitive cannons sticking out the sides, blasting away at each other. I hope Sand balances things well, so you get a decent gunfight out of an engagement, rather than just shooting off a few legs within a couple of shots and have the enemy trampler topple helplessly over on it's side. Looking forward to see some gameplay🙂

The combination of grappling hook and wingsuit, master this and your an epic player to be able to roam around the event maps easily. I went to alot of event maps, flying, killing, surprising players who didnt master flying and grappling. so much fun. The game let you play bunker down and not move, or move and not bunker down.
That’s valid. We still don’t know what the full extent of the mechanics will be for the game. Either way, a game like LO being good, is better than no game like LO at all. I will miss grappling and wing suits greatly though
so i've been aware of Last Oasis since it went into early access. i just googled Last Oasis to find out whats going on with it and according to an interview from April or May 2024 apparently due to negative reviews and declining sales it just wasnt making any money. so the studio was left with three options: 1. shut everything down 2. fire 90% of the staff or 3. start working on a new game to actually make money they went with option three and are hoping it'll bring in enough money they can go back to working on Last Oasis
really informational video thanks. Looks like the game will probably look good visually based on the experience of the studios, but like you said who knows about their experience in this sort of genre
As someone who had never played last oasis these videos still make me wanna try it. Especially maybe now with less players to stop my progress so easily. Everytime I look for a new game I consider last oasis. But read the reviews look at the videos and I just don’t know.
LO was an amazing experience in the early days, all my mates left and i was a lone player, i adapted and became very adept at raiding and robbing larger clans. It was a blast! but i had to work for it. In their efforts to make LO playable by the vocal solo who just wanted to pick it up and play without putting in the effort required to be good at it (typical to the genre) it just ruined the game.
Hopefully they make Sand a good game that has a lot of players. I know tinybuild from pandemic express which unfortunately fizzled out but was extremely fun.
I played 1,100 hours of LO. I never was the best or got the hemisphere tiers as a solo player but I dream about swinging through the Trees and wing suiting around. I've already signed up for test servers of sand
I’ve been looking on their discord and website and nothing has been posted. I’ve even reached out to the dev company, and they said they are not willing to speak out on the game just yet. So it’s anyone’s guess as to if/when we see anything about the game.
if i cant flare up and wingsuit down on some unsuspecting scrubs i dunno what the point of waking up tomorrow is... literally once i day i have the thought and get extremely upset about never getting to play early s4 last oasis again
BEST GAME EVER!!!! BUT.... Season 5 killed it........ I am truly so disapointed and i really miss the good ol´days with this game. Ive been trying to get started on it again, but season 5 has just messed it all up for me. Me, my clan, friends and so many people ive met online has gone away after this update. Bring back LO to its former glory! PLEASE 😢
I heard about this game two weeks ago from another RUclipsr and it got me exited about it since I love LO concept and play it for a fair amount of time till shit hit the fan, I just hope that this one don’t go down the same road 😞
Yeah Sound design was pretty awesome on Last Oasis too. I'm not sure why they like.. kinda just redesigned everything? I mean the UI.. everything. No option to change back or choose different ones... Just completely threw the whole game that we grew to love out the window.. no lobby.. just... like what? And they removed the nomadic aspect. I mean it's kinda borderline fraud at this point it doesn't even resemble what they advertised... in ads that they still have on there. There is no thin line of Oasis anymore it's just static titles. Also they never added content that they had mostly finished? There was all kinds of stuff on the YTs like that druid rootball circle thing? Idk.
All LO had to do was make an albion online reliance on tiles for each others loot, have the passway between these tiles full loot PvP whilst offering PvE relief tiles for less important and baser resources. That's it, you offer a place for most players to have sanctuary and leave the sweaty clans to their ganking along merchant routes. Full world PvP without capping clans was NEVER going to work. It's not a sustainable system, even with the resource node thingy that gathers up a % of the tiles earnings - it still doesn't stop all of the clans eating up all of the solo's and small groups for breakfast once they get bored of dueling it out with each other. Too many wolves and there's not enough sheep to go around, basically. If this game follows a similar trajectory without significant changes made then it'll fall to the same inevitable end.
Just go and play Last Oasis guys, i startet playing and it is nice. It is hard as a solo but i love it. There are few Players on my EU servers and on all others too. it is not realy a problem. The difference is just that you start to know each other. You know which are the good and which are the bad guys. Its also now no loner a problem if you want to play the game just PVE. And if you like having PVP... go to the PVP tile, try to get the best quality shit there, get your ass clapped. Plan better next time
With a peak concurrent player count of 50 - 100, and everyone being spread out, the PVP is non existent. there is at most 2 - 5 players on one tile. If you're lucky
why the fuck dont the devs just revert back to s4 the playerbase was strong enough to sustain official servers for a long long time.. i honestly dont givve a fuck about tinctures that was the one thing they had to fix and they came back and fucked the whole game up noone asked them to.. i cant even begin to understand the backwards logic....
Uhhhh ouch. I have called out Last Oasis for their flawed concept and people said i am wrong. You can maybe tell yourself that what you think was the reason, but the execution is not the reason. The main reason why Last Oasis failed is the very flawed concept to get a lot of players with full loot, open PvP games. There is definitely a market for those games, but it is way way waaaaaaaaay smaller then some people (and some developer) think. When the average player gets rofl stompt by some basement dwelling no lifer and loses every progress made in the last week, he might start over one more time. It happens again, they are gone. Full loot PvP games do work. But only for a small, very small group of people. So those games will most likely not have a big budget.
It was definitely the execution. they made losing your stuff too devastating, wipe cycles way too long, grindy, and poor balance in general.Season 4 was fine, and was going the right direction, but season 5 killed it. Rust is successful and retaining a player base for a reason. Being a full loot PVPVE game is not why it failed. The player base for full loot may be smaller than Most genres, but it's not so small it can't survive as a game. That's a naïve take. It has been done, and done well before. So it was definitely execution.
@@CLXCKWXRK well, Mortal Online 2 keeps around 1500 players, Sea of Thiefs around 12k. That might be ok, but it comes down to sales for games that are B2P. Its naive to say that other games do it too. I don't know about Rust, but Ark is a very prominent example. This game did not do so well because of full loot PvP. It started out as that only, but very early on had added PvE servers. The game is still around 45k players each day on Steam alone. That includes inofficial Servers with PvP times, PvE and of course single player. Which is by default PvE. It really depends on the excution. But full loot os always devastating. Unless you make building up quick and gathering fast. But then there would need to be an upper limit somehow. The seasonal content is also BS, because it turn people of when they have to start all over again after grinding for so long. At the start of each season LO gained a bit of players and lost them pretty quick. In the next they gain less than before.
@@arrclyde4325 you just agreed that it depends on the execution, and listed 2 games that do well enough. So I don’t see how you can say what I said is naïve
