Fantastic that Andy Summers found time in his Police schedule to fit this in, what a guy. An underrated guitarist but he's got some heavweight company here with that Ollie guy but he held his own.
At 5.40 Ollie cooly shows how it's done. What a great great guitarist he was....not to take anything away from Andy Summers. Top class performance all round.
@@franksteynAndy was a pretty accomplished jazz guitarist and could let it rip when he was given the opportunity. Robert Fripp wouldn't have collabed with him if he wasn't great. Ollie takes it here though
Hah. This isn't a "performance," this is a jam session trading fours. They're just having fun. It doesn't get any better than this. Non musicians won't get my comment.
Is a photographer playing good music in stage !!!!!!!!!! unforgettable times in DEIA Paella pirata was a must but the cafe pirata was most than a pirate LOL
I think from the comment,s that few people know anything about "Kevin Ayers". A SHAME ON ALL OF YOU! Played, and I mean played with the, "SOFT MACHINE; left after album 1,and went solo, many albums, all especially good cause he always picked the best musicians' of the time, but I don't remember him ever touring, or even playing a small club in the U.S.. Played with people such as "Vangelis- from Vangelis "Ollie Halsall," from, "Patto," Soft Machine I mentioned -- and lounges with ladies in S. of France; correction -- use to. His life seemed grand, but you all know how that goes? Tom
Saw him live, if you call, pissed out of his f'ing head and totally unable to perform, live ... With a not so happy hippie audience ... Was hilarious and infuriating all at the same time 🤣🤣🤣🤣 ALWAYS loved his albums though, everything just so !
jackcame2 I saw Kev in about 73/74 when Andy Summers was his guitarist for that tour, this was before Ollie joined. I think Zoot Money was also in the band
@@isahalim4119 The quote comes from an interview with Kevin Ayers. I believe it was on BBC Radio 6 many years ago. Have you seen the book Shooting at the moon? The collected lyrics and scribblings of Kevin Ayers.
Not long after this, Kevin would do the album Diamond Jack and the Queen of Pain, of which the cover art reveals Kevin had been enjoying copious amounts of cocaine. I believe it's evident he was doing that at this performance also!
Auténtica joya musical

I think this was before the Police
Nope…. This is 1981. The Police had started in 1977.
@@MaartenVeldhuis-v2s Even the Police are allowed days off
Kevin was my idol in this world. Missed one opportunity to see him in person, and I regret it to this minute.
' Got up this morning, went out on the street, sniffed a few flowers and went back to sleep '
Excellent band performances ! Lyrics tell of difficulties fitting in. Andy makes the work look terribly easy ! A true gas !
2月18日はいとしのKevinの1周忌です。合掌! ...それにしても、Andy Summersも一緒に拝めるとは。You Tubeに感謝!!
Andy Summers. PROPER. Up there with the guitar greats. A master
Hola que tal Pere?🌿💚🕊

Wow!! Superb!
What a Jam !
glad to see this got a good number of views, surprised too!
Kevin looks better with curly hair, and it's an unexpected bonus to see Andy Summers on this video, as I am a huge Police fan.
"Musical Express" a spanish televisión program of the 80s
Andy Summers out of the three piece straight jacket!!!
real talent this is no longer available
OMG. Andy Summers celebrated his 80th birthday on December 31, 2022. I also liked his guitar work on Kevin Coyne's album Matching Head And Feet.
Andy and Ollie are both great . Very different but fantastic none the less
Thank you
The wonderful Kevin Ayers wouldn't miss if he was in town with The Whole World. The rainbow gig was off the planet
Much love for the king of 80's tone, Andy Summers!
This guy is just amazing. Great renditions of already great songs.
Blow my mind again Kevin!
Get out of my dream …

Que bonito joder ...:(,, RIP

wow, love this rare clip of andy.
On the album "June 1first 1974, they were flat out with Eno, Nico. Rgds Colin.
great little song that..and nice to see kevin play with andy summers
You've probably read it, but Kevin had said since that he couldn't remember a thing about recording that album!
I suppose only musicans give a shit about Ollie? He was a real genius
...Ollie's solos were from another planet (PATTO) and Andy'; just a good rythme player but nothing special as a sologuitarist...
@@franksteynshows what you know 🥱
This is the best music video I found in a long time!!!
Same in 2022!
Ollie is the MAN❤
She stands up when she plays the piano...
Oh, that's Pearl!
I assume nobody else saw this 'link', so a belated 👍

This TV gig was recorded in TVE studios in Barcelona in 1981. I love the rock touch provided by Summers
Master class!!!!!
I love his look(Kevin)...bless him.. great sound..great uncomplicated lyrics 🌸
So goooood
RIP Kevin
Priceless.
Is nobody saying he's underrated? Come on!!
Kevin had a roomate and that particular roomate turned out as the best/famous guitar player/composer: the greatest Mike Oldfield.
merci! oui , Andy assure aussi !!
Always liked this tune. Thanks
A pleasure to listen to Ollie Halsall

je ne m'en lasse pas : Ils assurent trop !
the fabulous zanna gregmar!
Very good blues The riffs played by Andy are great.Excellent post. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much Ollie Halsall. A joy.
A lesson in guitar fills. Fine rendition.
rest in peace, Kevin...

good surprise to see andy summers in this band💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💖💖💖💖
Loved it - thanks
Man, the studio recording blows this away
By far!
Andy Summers was fired from Soft machine by Kevin Ayers. This video could imply that Mr. Summers didn´t take it too personally
The key player is HOT !!!
yeah!
Ok Andy, great, but no-one like Ollie!!!
Thnx for

Search for "John Cale - Heartbreak Hotel". Same band. Cale had obviously gotten over the 1974 marital awkwardness.
divertido
Ollie 💕💗💞
The original guitar on this song was Steve Hillage and NO ONE played it better.
Ollie's dancing - hahahaha
wow
Don,t forget in real terms Ollie and Andy Summers are at opposite ends of the scale. Ollie was just messing with him.

Yeah well Ed... trading blows with Ollie... hard act to follow let alone keep up with....

Just stumbled across this video as you do. Some tasty guitar work all round. Who are all the musicians playing.....?

Well this is fun...kinda like Lou Reed...like keys legs woof lol
kevin ayers , andy sommers ( ex zoot money ! ) et des musiciens espagnols .

Summers is a great riff-meister but he's a little out of his league here. Ollie's solos on Bucket Blues were always astounding.
I was pleased to see Summers playing with Kevin..respect is due..I guess he puts his own taste on things..(It's all art/Rock 'n' roll!)

If this is 1981 that means Andy played this show amid non-stop touring and recording with the Police. Was this a one show performance?
This guy is terrible. I missed him and I’m glad.
I think...and please I'm willing to be corrected if I have got it wrong...she is Lisa Life who played with Ollie Halsall in the 'The Sex Beatles' ..

Who's playing keyboards? She looks familiar.
It's hard to believe that Ollie lived a life of totally disorganized squalor. Yet on stage he appears so together.

Who is on bass?
i’m not a huge fan of the guttural singing, but I forgive you, Kevin. I could forgive you for anything.

Is that piano even connected? I don´t think I heard a single note she played, though she does seem to be...
Shame there was no live audience as this performemance feels it needed one to fill the space in this empty studio
What is Andy summers doing there?
C'mon Louise, Summers is having an absolute stinker on this!
On this evidence, Andy Summers showed some admirable restraint in the Police, although I never liked 'em much.
Would have been a little better, if they ahd all been in the same key... ?
