  • 3 Tips to Help Every Artist With Perfectionism
I was scrolling Instagram and ran across a short video reel by filmmaker, RUclipsr, and 2X Netflix Documentarian, Matt D'Avella. In the reel, he talked about three ways to combat perfectionism and it got me thinking about my own issues with overthinking things and not working.
Through the research I realized I too had some problems with perfectionism and not learning how to identify what good enough really means to me as an artist and content creator.

This video is perfect!! Love the highway ambiance. Deadlines have definitely helped me with perfectionism. I also think perfectionism is a form of procrastinating. Love seeing a video from you. Your adding class to art videos 😀❤️👍

Yep. Perfectionism... ugh. At some point, my projects reach a point where I don't have the skill to make them any better, so that's when I call it done and move on to the next project. Nice little supportive video for all of us fellow artists! Yay! 😎

Great video Michael! Man I struggle with perfectionism and it really prevents me from creating most times. I think these points are great and it really starts with setting a deadline, when time is up then you have to be ok with good enough. Done is better than perfect :)
This video was well done too man, great pace, great editing, soothing musicbed and I love that you embraced the loud trucks driving by :)
    Keep up the good work!

Yes yes yes yes. I ran into this last night while I was trying to sketch out some ideas and they were not turning out the way I wanted so I got discouraged and just stopped working on them and off to Netflix I went.
This video came at the perfect time for me. I have been beating myself up that my writing is not good enough for my blog, my drawings are not good enough, my 3D modeling is not good enough. Why am I even doing this if I'm just not good enough?

You are plenty good enough. I compare my own work too much and it discourages me to the point I try to “perfect” my work and forget to enjoy the process.
      You got this, Scott.
