    Great video. Thank you VERY MUCH. As we get older (like me) animal protein & animal collagen is very important. I did keto for a few years and lost 65 lbs … but I now I pretty much eat Mediterranean but tweaked it more to my style. I don’t do a connivore diet by any means but I do eat beef 3 times a week, good eggs, salmon/sardines, goat/sheep cheese. Coconut oil sometimes, olive oil, avocados, MCT oil, ACV in water prior to meal. I do eat greens, ground flax seed , low glycemic berries. I am aware of oxalates/phytates and either prepare them different OR just avoid them. Cooking up beef, chicken etc bones extracts healthy protein collagen especially needed for our joints as we get older. Organic for a long time. Thank you once again for your great videos! 👍👏👏

    Amazing breakdown of each facet of the diet and why it's essential to anti-allcause mortality, anti-cancer, and anti-inflammation. Have a few things to tweak in my daily diet but glad to hear I'm pretty much on point after recently going to back to an omnivore diet.

    I would love to see a debate with Dr Berry on the carnivore diet. It sounds good in theory the Mediterranean diet but still you are getting a lot of sugars specially for people that suffer with diabetes type 2. Dr Chaffee also talks about how plants can be detrimental to the proper human diet.

    Dr. Cabral,
    I OMAD every weekday.
    22/2.
    Weekends, 40 hour prolonged fast from Friday 8 pm to Sunday noon.
    I’ve lost approximately 13 lbs. so far since I began this regimen 2 months ago.
    I feel great and I’m rarely “hungry” when I end fasting.
    I was 187 lbs. when I started.
    Now I’m 174 lbs.
    I’m 5-6 lbs. away from the top threshold of my BMI for my height.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks! 👍

      It sounds like it is working well for you now, but I would work to transition into a larger window since it is challenging to meet our daily nutrition requirements in this time frame. Please check out my show on the OMAD Diet at StephenCabral.com/1895 ⭐️

    Why no mention of Tomatoes , an essential food in Med diet? Love them but hearing many experts talking about tomatoes causing inflammation due to seeds and skin. Also, many carnivore MD’s stating spinach, nuts and beets have high inflammatory oxalates that creep in after many years with diseases. Would like to hear your perspective on this latest phenomenon. Thx!

    This is a really awesome video; I felt like you really collated and distilled many different pieces of nutritional advice I've seen over the years, but one thing I wanted to ask if you ever see this is you mentioned eating red meat sparingly, and I'm wondering if you still feel like that when it comes to game meat, venison or elk meat for example, cause in my mind it's probably the healthiest protein to ingest in today's day and age given all the issues with farming (using cheap feed, barely get to run around and develop their muscles properly, etc.) and also the microplastic issue with seafood. I guess what I'm asking is, if you had unlimited access to game meats even though they're technically red meat, would you still opt for grocery store poultry/seafood (ofc you could fish and hunt turkey or raise chickens but let's omit that case)?

    • @stephencabral
      @stephencabral  Год назад

      Game meat is absolutely less inflammatory; however it should still be eaten sparingly. Protein should be no more than 19% of the diet for long term health.

    Great info! I am Healthy vegan. Lots of arugula. Sprouts , Wild blueberries etc. I take an alges based oil and tests look good. (A little low on the index but not much) My concern are to build strong bones. Should I add fish or is this not needed.( fish might have toxins as well that harm bones)

    what about coconut meat and cheese, yogurt , kefir , do you recommend them and why ?

    • @stephencabral
      @stephencabral  6 месяцев назад +1

      Dairy products should be eaten with caution as they are quite inflammatory for most people. Kefir is very beneficial when the GI system is well balanced, but can be troublesome for those with GI issues.
