- 2022 EP16: In this EPF video, I go to the mighty Neshaminy Creek after a heavy day of rain to fish for whatever bites. Unbeknownst to me at the time, an interesting mystery awaited me then...
[May 2nd, 2022 (Fishing Session Number 42)]

Did you know that...?

❌...Under certain circumstances, the Common Carp (Cyprinus carpio) will chase and bite tiny lures. Over my years of fishing in PA, I have caught about half a dozen Common Carp on artificial lures -- the majority of them from Canals and Creeks (places with flow).
❌...When Rivers and Creeks are raging, NEVER wade in unknown territory. Stick to areas that are known to you. If you can't see bottom, don't attempt to wade it. To top it off, only cross or wade them at tailouts and/or wide and shallow zones. Never underestimate Mother Nature, Ladies and Gentlemen!!!

I like playwiki park my mother tells me I was conceived there. In the back of a 1950 mercury. Lmao
Playwicki is for sure my favorite place to fish for smallmouth
What?
????????
Lmao nice
I've been fishing carps with lures and ultralight gear for a few years, and I've noticed that if the drag is too loose, you keep losing them like you did. Carps have a hard top of the mouth, and they feed by "sucking" the food and spitting it multiple times: when you feel the tap they sucked the lure, but if you set the hook with loose drag it just won't penetrate the top of the mouth, and that results in feeling the bite and loosing the fish one second later. To avoid that, you have to keep the drag loose (because they will go berserk as soon as they feel the needle), but hold the spool of the spinning reel with your hand to set the hook, so that you can penetrate well without giving them line, and after that just remove the hand from the spool
man i love your videos bro, just enjoing fishing and relaxing with a twist of excitement. Nothing too extra, helps me going through hard times when I cant physically go out and fish temporarily
Love the ol creek vids dude!
we love you leo keep slaying them
Raging water fer sure Leo . Tho you found some great places with near calm water , ya did catch some nice fish . When the " creek calms down " things should be way better . Still a good video . Tom Daytona Beach , FL. 7, May 2022 .
A great day out on the creek. Looks like a great place for some smallies.
😆 "We're not going to pull any 1rod stunts"
bumma! no intro! lol still a banger my dude. good ol fc esnipa
I remember way back when leo was slaying carp with a French fry. I love the carp
Mike Longed that carp! 🤪
That boy hit straight to the current
you had me laughing when you referenced 1 rod haha XD that was a good one
don't blame the eslayer, blame the game - sun
lol thats a Lil Red Heidi Hood wader dressup hahah showing us the angles I see
I know this situation. There are so many fish packed in there because of the high, colder water, you can't help but snag them. They are stacked like cordwood and you can barely hit bottom with your jig without first dragging over and through suckers and carp, unfortunately, your gear is too light. Another factor is the gamefish cannot see your lure well. You have to get it away from the 'cordwood' so you can find an eater. Good luck.
Did you know that some of the lower sections of the Neshaminy actually has some Shad come up in April till mid-May? It could've been one of those.
In fact, on fishbrain there's a new post of gizzard shad on April 24th right by that dam so considering carp are not that agressive, I think those were some kind of shad, likely gizzard.
Might also explain why they're getting kind of snagged since they're not usually in a eating mood but in a sexy shad mood.
@@VictorF0326 I hate fishbrain, every time I logged a catch mfs would be showing up to my spot.
Better off using a fishing discord,or make your own like I did
@@VictorF0326 The tidal portion of the Delaware River ends at the Hulmeville Dam. The Neshaminy Falls Dam is miles upstream from it and unless the shad were placed into the non-tidal Neshaminy by another human, you won't find them naturally occurring above Hulmeville. Note: that's also where the circle-hook regulations end.
@@edwardstradling6358 I didn't know the dam names but looks like the location is just around the location you stated around Hulmeville.
@@patches2221 Yeah, well there's premium for a reason. If anything you can just hide/private your spot which I do for particularly vulnerable species like native brook trout. I also hate when people post chinook salmon in a tiny pond around my house but if you got a discord great for you.
@10:08 cute falsetto @12:41 cute falsetto
Leo u the man
you need to go back to the schuylkill river ive been catching a lot there
Nice job Leo! One of those species is messing with you, so you got to find out which one it is! 🤙🏼🤙🏼🎣🎣
Be carefully leaving your shoes I once hid mine under roots of a tree and someone took them and they were really crappy worn out new balances
Hi EPF!
Try a wooly worm on them Leo.
hey leeeoooo i bought some EPF swimbait 🎣 can’t wait to use them
I grew up on that creek, you never know what is down there. Especially when it it floods.
Shucks...I keep forgetting to remember to mention...you talked about sumo in your other vid, and forgot to mention the Brazil sumotori Kaisei. He got hurt this past Nov, so he didn't do too good in January. Got sent down to the second level and did "ok". Hopefully he gets better and heals up his knees and ankles and gets back up to the top division.
Have you ever tried a double or triple hook set? We do that with pike because their mouth is so bony and toothy it’s hard to drive the hook home!👍
That was a quick gear up. At the start lol
I'd say it's probably carp, and they are actually hitting it. In the spring it's very common here to get carp hitting the little twister tail grubs.
The asian Mr. Bean 👍😂🎣🔥💯
Just make sure your hooks are razor sharp, sometimes easily overlooked! ✌🏻
Fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Why are there trout in the neshaminy, thought they weren’t stocking it due to micro plastics
Not plastics, some kind of chemical but that's what I thought too.
Would you ever get an under water camera so you might be able to see what's going on down there
I need to hit some Clearwater creeks with the epf swim.
Thank goodness you didn’t do a One Rod and go wading in that raging water!
Love fishing for small fish however with small hook the issue is that you can't really keep the bigger fish hook. That is what happened with your big fish.
🔥🔥🔥
My guess is Common carp or maybe catfish?
Yo EFF!!! I saw snakeheads trying to swim up the pennypack creek waterfall like salmon last night. Airing out… anyone else ever see that
What's EFF?
@@General_Junkie extreme Filly fishing
Possibly a steelhead? Just a odd guess
You should use heavier lines.
That wasn’t a pumpkin seed that was a red breast by the short red and black ear pumpkin seed would have a longer ear and not as grayish spots and yellow
🎣🎣🎣🔥
If those fish were actually really big, and they were obviously big, I’m not sure that hook was fully getting them. Maybe a bigger hook would have held in the mouth better in this situation
It was a turtle 🐢 🤣🤣😂😂
Merch?
Snagged carp.
Sorry my bad, not playwiki that's hulmeville falls.
“Heyyyyyy What’s up RUclipseeee!!!!!!” :,(
Are you actually practicing talking like this? No hate bro lol good video... Next time bring a 6# or 8# rod in case you gotta really put the hammer down 👊🎣💯 probably just spawning Carp snagging session lol
How is he talking differently than he usually does? I'm not sure I understand where you're coming from.
@@General_Junkie Yes I know... It's like he's dropping the R and trying to sound like a baby. If you know you know... If you can't recognize the change from years previous then explaining it WON'T help you understand... you either hear it or you don't.
@@juliolua2104 Ok. I noticed he sounded different in the beginning of the video cuz I've been watching him for years. I just thought the comment was bizarre. I guess I just don't understand why it matters if a person is talking slightly different or not and why they would feel the need to explain it to people. There could be a thousand reasons which he may not want to talk about. It could be something as simple as a canker sore to something more serious like throat cancer. I guess I just don't understand the line of questioning you're taking. Like I said extremely bizarre.
