To me the most helpful part of your tutorials is that you explain how certain body parts should FEEL. Watching videos of people doing 360s doesn't always translate that you need to focus on specific foot position or that your left hip should swing/turn out at a certain time. Proper technique will propel you to new heights.
Man that tip of opening the shoulder for the spin, help me a lot to improve my 180 and unlock finally the 360! u are awesome, im watching almost all ur videos, u are really like my mentor. keep it going like this! Greetings from Chile.
Ha.. Me too. I'm thinking the longer wheelbase of the Wizards helps a LOT. I'll be trying this on my fr1 310's, the tri-skate has a longer frame than my 4x80mm, more stability on landing.
I started skating 7 years ago in Saskatoon, would commute on my skates since it’s so flat. Tried the skate park a bit but was intimidated and didn’t know how to progress, I hadn’t found videos like this! Got some basic stuff down and 180s. Coming back to it now after finishing my first ski season in BC! So grateful for these tutorials, thank you!
man one day ima ride with you. at least i hope ! :D great job , been skating last 2 years for first time , having great times and learning from all people like you sharing videos , you're one of my favorite tho ; ) my english not biggy but i try :P
Hey Brother! Don't worry about your english. I know exactly what you are saying. Thank you for the nice comment. I feel so good knowing that these videos are helping people.
Omg, this was like a real life hack. I was able to 360 before but it was quite inconsistent and sloppy. With having the foot on the right side made it 100 % success rate. Thank you so much. Atm I'm practicing to ride on one wheel to be able to rotate on one wheel. Would really appreciate a video about that, if you find the time. Thanks again.
Thank you for the feedback. I was quite certain the principles in this video would work for others but it is good to know that it is working. As for the one wheel spin. I can help with that but I will need sometime to think about it.
Great stuff! Always love seeing more skate lessons, especially these beginning steps that loads of people either gloss over or ignore completely. My question is how do you get over fear? I really want to learn how to do tricks, but as a 20 year old, my fear and anxiety always hinders me
Really mastering the basic steps of a trick will help your brain understand and process the more advanced steps. Anxiety and fear aren't bad per se, they are meant for self preservation. Proper protection and technique will ease a lot of that tension by making you a better (and safer) skater.
Great point. How do you get over the fear? There are a few things that can help. Wearing gear, practising on grass. I will think more about this and make sure I address it on Wednesday.
I really like that you introduce this method to people that are trying to learn 360's. I used the same method during last winter to learn it and I was successful 👌🏻
It will be 4:30 AM here. I'm up now and it's 3AM...so who knows? I just made another "sort of power stop" video. I didn't fall this time...so it's a plus. Man, your 540 is graceful!
I skated a lot as a kid and remember that I did 360s down curbs it worked but not consistently, but I havent done them in a decade and I am not wearing protective gear when I am out nowadays so I never try anymore because it seems risky. But you make it look so easy and risk free that I really want to learn to just do 360s on casual rides. Skating for me has always been intuitive, it is not like I know(in like a semantic sense) where to put my limbs and how to shift my weight, but I just do it. So this'll be the first tutorial I follow. I'll report back how it goes.
I did this on ice skates today. It was great because if I didn't make the full turn, I wouldn't wipe out, but just scrape the ice a bit. No biggy. I'll try it on my roller blades in the spring. Chya
I remember learning this right after I could finally comfortably do both prerequisite moves. Still tho, just couldn't bring myself to rotate a full 360, couldn't commit to it cause I didn't fully understand it, just intuitively. It's amazing (and quite funny) how the small details change everything, the focus on jumping from the toes and bringing that hip around - that did it for me, made the "thought" behind the move complete. Thank you so much Shaun. Now I'm on to some spinning-swively moves you guys do, been aiming to learn those for months now. 🙏
Nice explanation, had trouble landing the 360 but the 180 transition approach makes it much simpler! Not very relevant, but on the way of practicing 360s (and jumps in general), I started to feel minor but noticeable knee pain, which I believe has to do with my general knee/foot alignment when skating (combined with body rustiness!) I am trying to be more concious about the posture, but perhaps there is a rule of thumb to self-correct the knee/foot alignment?
Unbelievable how simple you had made this... Sensei Shaun! It’s amazing that it’s a move that I have had 50/50 success rate on for a couple of years... but now sooo confident that these are. Thanks a million Shaun-Task. My wish list of tutorials would have to include your seem-less one footed 360’s while moving forward - my guess is they are enhanced continuous one foot 3 turns (which I just realized is probably be the case as I am typing this.) Anyway- you never cease to let your followers down. Thanks for the shared skills. Namaste!
The 180 is a more useful trick but 360s are a ton of fun. Tune in tonight the live stream or catch the replay. There is going to be a lot of helpful info in there.
Same hère ! It looks like it does not require a big jump at all! And im struggling to jump thé highest possible to make it ! Also one of m'y friend is so confident and Know how to do it so good that it make his 360 last longer in the air and it looks sooo cool !
Oct 25 2020 this is on my goals list... wow one day I will attempt this! Lets see how long it will take. Amazing instructions, very insightful. I can’t wait to ever get to this level of ability! Im a beginner about 1 month of skating. Any advice?
thanks!!! My own progress point in this video was start withs right foot infront and finish with left foot infront. So i can 360 from now! Namaste from Zaporizhzhia OZH =)
imo, when mastering rotations, which is complex whole body move, it will be easer to progress without skates first. There is legs, hips, shoulders, hands and head that should be involved in rotation conciously one by one, first with 180, then 3, then 5 and maybe 7 without skates. Without skates technique may be a little different but it will greatly increase body awarness and can be practised anytime and anywhere without much fear. Even when rotation is mastered you can not make it nicely every time because this body balance things are in constant change. So it will be helpfull to build up this move a little every time youre going for it
That's a very positive and motivating video, I often watch your videos, though I'm not yet ready for most of the stuff as I'm a beginner only. But thank you, you're doing a great job!
Namaste form India Thank you bro for an amazing tutorial on 360, Watched it for 8 to 10 times. Learned a lot from this video and here is the result, i have uploaded the video kindly check and suggest if there is any corrections to be made. Will quickly get back to another stunt from your channel. Thank you & Namaste.
party all day Definitely. It’s called skating vert unless it’s just a regular wall and not a ramp that slopes up into vertical, so then just a version without a transition into it.
You've got a great way of explaining things man! I gotta get out to Calgary one of these days. Seems to be nicer skating conditions than we have here in moncton NB!
Despite de 8 hours in advance here in Spain, I will try to wake up at that time! Now I’m recovering from my shoulder ( a fall down doing 180s). My question is what’s maximum speed for doing 180s or 360.
That is a great question. I will put some more thought into it. I find that 180s are safe at high speeds. However, 360s get more and more difficult to land the faster you are going.
It's clear that when you're making your 360 to the left, your right foot is leading while scissoring. Whould you say that for the right you would change foot positions? Your way of teaching is amazing and it can let anyone understand the movements. Chapeau for you! Thanks in advance.

The "feel" is the hardest part to teach and learn but it is the most important part. I am glad that I can help you start to understand the feel.
This was so beautiful and effortless, I've been working on my 360 and this vid just came at the right time 💖
I really hope this helps.
When i watch u or the skaters at the rink pull of a 360 it looks so effortless. It doesn’t looked forced, its almost like in slow mo
WIth time most people have to actually slow down the rotation when doing 360s to make for a clean landing.
Wow tou make it look so easy
For real. Especially when he throws in a 540 at the end 😅
Man that tip of opening the shoulder for the spin, help me a lot to improve my 180 and unlock finally the 360! u are awesome, im watching almost all ur videos, u are really like my mentor. keep it going like this! Greetings from Chile.
This has always cost me a lot because when I tried it I fell down and then I was a bit afraid of it but I get it and more with this explanation...😀
Ha.. Me too. I'm thinking the longer wheelbase of the Wizards helps a LOT.
I'll be trying this on my fr1 310's, the tri-skate has a longer frame than my 4x80mm, more stability on landing.
Johro's Inline Skater Channel Oh ok, I have some Rollerblades and I have been riding skates for 7 years
The longer wheel base helps but I think you might be better off with the smaller wheels because you will be lower to the ground.
Shop Task if it is better to start at the tips and then complete the turn
Shop Task okay, thanks! I'll have a go on the 4x80
I started skating 7 years ago in Saskatoon, would commute on my skates since it’s so flat. I was too scared to try at first, but I did my first 360 yesterday!! I still need to work on my jump, but the rotation is there.
I will do a 360 one day! Great instruction mate, i know this will help me.

Kekiscone put on more protection and try at grass first. Protection gives confidence.
Wear protection. And you need to get used to falling. it's normal to fall. All fall.
Really mastering the basic steps of a trick will help your brain understand and process the more advanced steps. Anxiety and fear aren't bad per se, they are meant for self preservation. Proper protection and technique will ease a lot of that tension by making you a better (and safer) skater.

What a great question. I broke my wrist badly a couple of years ago and i still hesitate when doin jumps of any kind.
I really like that you introduce this method to people that are trying to learn 360's.
I used the same method during last winter to learn it and I was successful 👌🏻
That explanation is amazing, you just make it be so easy! Thank you very much !

keep it up!
I come from Spain
Thank you my friend.
What a great teacher you are ! thanks !
It will be 4:30 AM here. I'm up now and it's 3AM...so who knows? I just made another "sort of power stop" video. I didn't fall this time...so it's a plus. Man, your 540 is graceful!
It is not usually that nice. In fact the one shown was my second attempt. The first attempt I over rotated and had my head too far down.
Your humbleness is great, Shaun! You mean that had to try this a whopping "two" times to nail the landing like a champ? ;)
I skated a lot as a kid and remember that I did 360s down curbs it worked but not consistently, but I havent done them in a decade and I am not wearing protective gear when I am out nowadays so I never try anymore because it seems risky.

You're Great at explaining Man!! Keep doing this!! I'd Love to see more videos!
Nice explanation, had trouble landing the 360 but the 180 transition approach makes it much simpler!

I am trying to be more concious about the posture, but perhaps there is a rule of thumb to self-correct the knee/foot alignment?
As a rule of thumb most people develop knee pain from pronation or from under developed muscles in their butts. I will try and cover this tonight.
That's what we was waiting for!!! Thanks :D
Unbelievable how simple you had made this... Sensei Shaun! It’s amazing that it’s a move that I have had 50/50 success rate on for a couple of years... but now sooo confident that these are. Thanks a million Shaun-Task.

Namaste!
Seriously helped me learn how to do 360
Never thought about the feet position, it will help for my 540 for sure ! Thanks !
It really helped me. Once I figured this out I was quickly able to clean up my landings and able to turn my 540 into a 720.
Thank you! Been trying it all day today and can only manage a 180, hopefully I can get the 360 soon :D
The 180 is a more useful trick but 360s are a ton of fun. Tune in tonight the live stream or catch the replay. There is going to be a lot of helpful info in there.
I think i'm ready!!!
Great tutorial Shawn!
Thanks Nik!
great indeed!
Making that 540 look so easy and clean. I’ve always struggled with anything more than a 360. I probably just have bad technique...
Same hère ! It looks like it does not require a big jump at all! And im struggling to jump thé highest possible to make it ! Also one of m'y friend is so confident and Know how to do it so good that it make his 360 last longer in the air and it looks sooo cool !
The video we are doing tonight should help. Check it out live or catch the replay.
cool , i needed this too^^ may bei can do 360 even with my inline speed skate in my next video too^^
YES! You will have to bust out a 360 as you cross the finish line next time.
I had just land the 360!!! Thank you much !!
You are really good in explaining stuff 👍
Oct 25 2020 this is on my goals list... wow one day I will attempt this! Lets see how long it will take.

Looking forward for that...
For faster rotations, hug your arms closer to your torso and catch more air. Or spread your arms if you feel the rotation is going overboard.
please make a tutorial of two wheeled spin

I want to come your way. I have never been to the East Coast of Canada. Definitely on the list.
@@FlowSkate let me know if you do Shaun, we can put you up cheaper than any hotel and we know of more spots to skate than they do!
great explanation!

Great ! I.ll try this foot position consciousness asap ! Thks for thé tip !
It's clear that when you're making your 360 to the left, your right foot is leading while scissoring. Whould you say that for the right you would change foot positions?
On the 540 (again, to the left) your weight is shifting to the right leg (while your right foot goes a little bit inwards), and that, turn the head + jump.

You are totally correct. Great observation.

Hi Shaun again! I,ve been thinking about what kingd of protection gear do you recomend to start with this 360º turns, and lose all possible fears. See you later!! Namaste.
I finally got mine a couple months ago!
Do you have any skate experience in India ??

I am a Realy good skater and I am now a little bit better thank you
Thank you bro for representing our INDIAN cultural -- NAMASTE.
Can you do a powerslide tutorial
Would you follow this same principle when explaining fakie to fakie 360’s?
Hello Shaun 😊 I had questions, but I don't have instagram, so I am gonna ask here.
1st Question: Can you make a playlist in ordered way for skating from beginners to advanced ( From A to Z inline skating ) ? So it will be ordered from the first move to achieve ( should be learned ) then 2nd one then 3rd etc.. Because I wanna learn to skate in city like your video ( Happiness on Inline Skating ).
2nd Question: How to be perfect like you in skating ? xD how to practice well, the exercises routines etc..
I can walk, run, pass speed bumps, jump with a little bit unstable landing, forward lemon, heel break stop, push inside stop with inline skates, but i feel that I can't touch an improvement.
Your way of teaching is amazing and it can let anyone understand the movements. Chapeau for you!
Thanks in advance.
You should do a video with Indy Jamma Jones 👌
Lovely 🖤 looks like Denver CO !!
I have been told by many people that Calgary and Denver are very similar cities. I really want to visit Denver.
Man I haven't hit a mid air transition in forever
What is the best forward to backward , vice versa , backward to forward transition in high speed really in a fast speed inline skate?
Please, explain more detailed how 540 on inline skates?
Hey question? Is ice skating totally different then rollerblades?
