Must be frustrating. I work in the healthcare field and we’re still working bc idiots keep going out w/o masks, my niece is an RN and was diagnosed with covid. Sick of selfish people. Ps I was sappose to be coming to Oahu end of this month. I canceled back in Jan. I haven’t had a vaca in 4 yrs I can wait till it’s safe!!
You are so right to be upset about tourist. Also, they should stop flying in the tourist in. And bringing them in by ship too. But there was an article about how a couple went to hawaii for their honeymoon and the did not listen to the hotel about being quarintine and acted sarcastic. So they made them sign a document that they were told by the hotel to be quarinted and stay in the hotel. Then they called the police when the couple came back to the hotel and were fine five thousand dollars. So hopefully the hotel keeps that up so that their guest understand the seriousness of the quarintine rules. Have a great day!
Thank you for your videos. I used to live in Hawaii as a kid and I also started living with my mom so I feel some sort of connection 😅 wishing you the best with getting through to the unemployment office.
There’s so many people treating this pandemic like a vacation and going to the beach and sea wall where I live and it looks pretty busy and aren’t physical distancing. We don’t have to wear masks here everywhere yet so people tend to use them mostly in Costco if you can believe it. I can’t believe people can be so selfish as to go on a vacation to Hawaii or anywhere during a time like this. Our province has been told to not travel outside of Canada and maybe in the summer we just holiday within our province. Stay safe, Niki!
I've been hiding for 7 years as I have lived in a basement. Somethings have actually improved lately so I am saving to move out. I just take everything a day at a time. I live with 7 other people and I am not comfortable with any of them. Doing little things for yourself can help. I tend to cook when I can, watch youtube, draw and play a bit of video games. Stay safe and sane!
Niki, have you posted on the Star Advertiser Facebook? They take questions from live-streams from Governor Ige, Scott Murakami director of Unemployment, etc. I’ve had a few questions answered (not by them, but by other Facebook users) and right now my application is in the PUA (Pandemic Unemployment Assistant) , so hopefully I will hear something later this week.
Hi Niki, I agree with the strict fines. I went to Walmart last week and probably 65% were not wearing masks. If everyone doesn't make an effort of a simple thing as a mask, it just prolongs this ordeal. I'm afraid that when numbers start decreasing, people will just go hog wild like normal and the virus will start getting worse. Well, at least we don't have to fight zombies. I'd be a gonner right away and wouldn't have to worry about anything!😅 Glad you're still ok!
Good vlog, stay safe. Here in New Zealand it's about to move to level 2, currently in level 3 more places are open but social distancing still in practice. Will be sort of normal in level 2 we have 21 deaths but each day only 1 or 2 new cases so very low new cases. Nearly 90 percent of our cases has recovered so not many active cases too. Hope things are alright in Hawaii. And rest of America.
It's been tough having to stay in and watch some tourists (and locals) go out and do whatever. Not sure how they will enforce any of the rules once they open up the State to more tourists. It's going to be tough.
I agree with you 100% about those Covidiots and scofflaws who flaunt the rules. There needs to be better monitoring and enforcement. I also agree that we should buy local and support our local economy. America’s reliance on another country is now proving to be disastrous. That country is now holding other countries hostage by withholding essential goods and medicines. You make a good point about learning what is important. This crisis has taught us how fragile and important life, health, family and the environment are. Please keep safe and keep positive...I know it’s difficult as I too am on a roller coaster ride.
Dearest Niki Niki, I feel for you. I too am not working. However, I'm keeping busy by helping out my fam, cooking, cleaning, running errands, walking the fam dog, and ordering takeout. I'm also staying active on social media and gaining information from the internet. I hope things will get better for all of us soon. Take care
CBD oil will help with anxiety. lm an introvert too and I really get what youre saying. I think. youre doing a great job with your mom , we all get on each others nerves and push buttons sometimes , youre moms probably thinking the same thing about herself. Im in Canada and legalizing marijuana is a game changer I think its so much safer you can grow your own or buy it at the liqour store its so funny the line ups are full of seniors and middle age people because it helps with so many health issues.
Hi Niki, that’s for putting out a video! I really want to go home! Do you still have to Quentin for 2 weeks? I don’t mind if I can stay with my parents. I’m lucky that I can go to get my hair done on the 19th! I can’t wait! Stay safe and healthy! 🙏🏽💜
Hi from New Jersey! Our local economy depends on the tourist trade. We still have people coming infirm out of state even though most things are closed. There are many people who are trying to file for unemployment ,so much frustration!
Happy Mother’s Day to you and your dear okaasan💖 I felt the same way when lockdown was first initiated in California- that it looked like the set of the Walking Dead. Unfortunately there are quite a few people in this state who feel like their rights are being taken away and are rebelling against the safety measures that are set to protect people. Sadly, this pandemic has brought out the worst in some people. I’m grateful that in my little city that everyone wears masks and practices social distancing. I’m surprised and also angry about the tourists there. Why the heck are they there? Did they come out from some rock somewhere and have no clue what’s going on? I got just as upset as you are hearing how disrespectful some of them are behaving and wholeheartedly agree about the $5000 fine. I wish this was implemented in every state! 😠 I really enjoyed watching you and your sweetheart of a son driving around and hearing you talk. I love your videos and I pray you and your family continue being safe and sound. Oxoxox
Hi sister! Happy Mother’s Day to you and your beautiful okaasama! I’m so sorry that you’re having such a hard time by separating yourself from social media, during this difficult time. I get it, because I typically don’t get anxious or have anxiety, but at the beginning of all of this, I was horribly afraid. Horribly anxious. I had full blown Swine flu, and it was very scary! This virus is not to be played with, and people need to take it seriously. I’m especially sad that you’re not on Instagram. I tagged you the other day, because, after watching your last video, and watching your okaasama with her new Dyson..... I swear, as soon as I was finished watching, I immediately went onto the Best Buy website and ordered myself a Dyson. 🥰 Lady Murasaki ordered one too! You should be rewarded by Dyson! ☺️ I, too, agree with you, in that the tourists should be fined! People can be so disrespectful! Swear-our neighbor has a pool party yesterday. Lots of cars on the street. It was so strange to see. I think most people have that “it’ll never happen to me,” mentality......until it does happen to them. Bachi ga ataru! Thank you for sharing your beautiful face mask! I just ordered some “Made in Hawaii,” face masks on Etsy, to support your beautiful island! Kyotsukete ne! ♥️
💐Happy Mother's Day 💐Niki and Mom Wondeful to see you all healthy. I understand it can be irritating, but you will always be a little girl to your Mom and Mom isn't going to change, I had to learn to accept that and it wasn't easy 😏 for me to let it go. I still struggle with it, sometimes. Absolutely Niki, why isn't our government doing more to protect the citizens? We live in an area that depends on tourists in Eastern North Carolina. They have started opening the beaches & some stores, but i think it's a mistake. We have people protesting at the capital, brandishing weapons, no face masks because of Covid-19 restrictions. I think they are being selfish, only caring about themselves. Take the blinders off and think of our Country's future. Yes they have had to close some meat plants here because of Covid-19. I too believe we need to bring manufacturing & businesses back home. We are wearing masks and I love seeing all of the different masks. Be well everyone! And wear your f'king masks 😷
In RI our governor mandated that any inbound travelers staying in RI has to be automatically quarantined for two weeks. I’m surprised that in such a high tourist location like Hawaii that tourists aren’t told to be quarantined...
Hello Guys...Good morning... Be safe guys... How are you guys there in Hawaii...hope everythings alright...and hope you have also Help from the Government in Hawaii....in US Government ..they give eqch US Citizen of 3,400 per Family bcause of Lockdown ..no work..no income ...how about in Hawaii ??
I have to disagree with you about supporting cattle ranching in Hawaii. Yes, we should support local if it's something sustainable but cattle ranching is definitely not. The damage that is done to prep the land, raise and slaughter animals and the waste that is left on earth is very damaging to the land. The amount of water and food that gets fed to cattle vs the meat produced is ridiculous. We have evolved enough to think bigger in sustainability and should continue to do so. Decreasing meat consumption not only lessens your footprint on earth but it also saves countless animals that are born in horrible conditions, only to die a horrible death. Especially with this pandemic, we humans need to be kinder, not just to each other, but to all living things.
You are getting more gray hairs in your head and your hair needs to be dyed. That is sad that the tourist is breaking the law and the state should tell the organizations there to let tourist know what the law is and let them know that the law will be enforced if caught violating the curfews. I had my temperature checked and I was okay, but at the borderline according to the test. I am staying at home as much as possible and avoiding outside contact as much as possible and wore my mask yesterday and I noticed that most people was not wearing one, probably because they are difficult to find. I recently ordered a new sewing machine to work on material I have and want to use up, but other than that I only need groceries for the home and will be shopping to fill my pantry and refrigerators so I have the food which was spoiled or used up is replaced. I gave up on buying cheap junk decades ago and spend extra for quality products usually made here or in Japan or Taiwan. The masks I finally got came from China and they are not the best quality. They want everyone to wear masks out here and I try to obey that rule when shopping at at church.

Thanks for the tour of Waikiki & Diamond Head! I haven't been there in years even though I live there! 😆

Pheng Ov here in Vegas, we’re barely entering Phase 1, still many cases each day here. Let’s see how this Phase works out. I feel for Hawaii too.

The unemployment phone line is so ancient. I dont know what the deal is. I've been doing it online.

Hawaii should follow Japan protocol for quarantine rules
Your cousin is so nice to your mom.
leave your hair alone and see how it comes out. You can always color it later.
