Omg, I love soba. And, they are so easy to make. I'll add it to my list of things to make this week. Keep up the awesome work, Niki Niki and Niki Niki's mom. And, take care.

I love tororo but my lips get itchy when I eat it. My mom usually serves it with rice but next time I will try it with soba. Thanks for the suggestion ❤

Hi Niki! Great video. I've always been afraid to try Yama imo but after seeing you enjoy it i will give it a try. Your mom is so cute finally letting you pour your own sauce but watching to see how much you pour. To funny!

I eat soba the way Niki Niki eats it. Put the sauce in a separate bowl then put in the Yamamoto and mix. Then dip your soba into the soup. You can also add soy sauce and a raw egg to the tororo (grated yamaimo) mix throughly then pour over hot rice. It's delicious! You can also cut it onto sticks (like carrots) and use it in addition to other fillings for makizushi (rolled sushi).

Edit: it's yamaimo not Yamamoto, (stupid spellcheck)😂😂😂

My dad used to like grated imo on hot gohan with shoyu. Brought back some memories, thank you.

I'm curious, how does that frozen brand compare to Sun Noodles fresh soba? I've had the Sun Noodle soba and it is by far better than any other soba I've had. At least you have easy access to it since it's made in Hawaii. I'll have to check out that Katokichi Nihon Sobayou you recommend the next time I go to either Marukai or Mitsuwa in Cupertino. I hope they have it there. Mahalo for this video!

In L.A., they call Don Quixote grocery stores Marukai. I've never seen frozen soba here. In HI, you have the best japanese food.

Actually called Tokoyo Central, used to be Marukai and they have frozen soba, but sometimes not in stock. Found it at the main store on Western and Artesia in Gardena.

@@keithfreitas2983 Oh, ok. I remember when Marukai started out and was on Vermont by Gardena Bowl. The largest Tokyo Central now is in Irvine.

Hiiiii sister! Hiiiii Niki no okasan! I love love tororo soba! I just bought a tiny piece of tororo a couple of days ago and I paid over $5.00 for a tiny piece. I love that you have frozen soba. We only have dried. I need to get another grater though. I’ll be headed to Daiso today. Thank you thank you! I didn’t know that you could freeze tororo. Now, I want!! Sister, your comment about having to beg for more tsuyu made me laugh. 😂 I could hear my mama saying ‘shiokarai and dame.’ I’m sorry about your hand. I hope it feels better soon.
Niki no okasan…..Odaijini shite kudasai. Nihon ne go bujide kudasai. ❤
