I agree, I love Huggs, know him personally, I hate how things happened, but I am really excited for Coach DeVries, there's a lot for us to look forward to, as much of a legend as Huggs is, lets keep in mind Darian has the opportunity to make even more history (if he's who we think he could be).
We didn't get disrespected. We're an unknown team with a brand new coach and roster, with only two guys on the team with Big 12 experience. Im actually surprised we weren't picked last. The fact that we weren't just shows how resprected Devries is. No one knows what to expect from this team. Im looking forward to the season so we can all find out!
I don't know, Couz. I am placing them at 9 or 10. Yes, a new coach. Drake though, could compete against the big boys. A big difference will be the defense and Illinois had good defenses. We do have a few names on our roster plus a couple freshmen. The biggest problem would be our height in front.

Agree. Your team does not get respect by showing up on the court or looking back at a Final Four appearance over a decade ago. Our team must earn respect by demonstrating talent on the court with its players/coaches, being competitive in a tough conference, showing sportsmanship and finally by winning its share of games inside and OOC. WVU has the pieces to earn respect in 2024-25.

The only years I thought Hugg’s teams were exciting were the Press Virginia years. I was very disappointed when he moved away from that.

Huggins didn't move away from the press. The NCAA changed the rules making it almost impossible to play agressive press and trap defense.
I’ve seen other teams press consistently since then. I think it was just not his preference to continue.
