The height on the court is insane. Sion is going to be a bully in the paint. Coop already looking like a leader. Year 3 Proctor is going to go crazy. Kon looks like a problem already, he’s my sleeper to have solid minutes next year and get buckets. Khaman looks like he can catch anything in his area. This team is going to be really special to watch, I cant wait for November man.

Evans, Gillis, Kon and Harris are going to have to fight hard for minutes. And they are all very good, that’s just how loaded this squad is. Proctor, Foster, Flagg, Maluach are the main 4 guys. The 5th starter could be Sion if they want to play Flagg at the 4 or Brown if they like Flagg at the 3. I’d go with Brown because I think Sion could have a bigger role coming off the bench than as a starter. He’s just so dynamic, you want him coming in to dominate, not out there trying to fit in. And Pat is going to play all the C minutes off the bench. I could see a 25/15 split between the two Cs. That’s 7 guys who I think are pretty set already. Evans obviously has the skill and pedigree to earn time and Gillis has the experience to force their way into an 8-9 man rotation. That leaves Kon and Harris as the odd men out. I wasn’t expecting much from either guy as freshmen. That said, I am 100% on the Kon fan club train. I hope he gets some burn throughout the year but sophomore season and hopefully beyond is where he’s going to make his mark.

You can hear it in Jon’s voice at the end he knows this team will be special. The size of this team is what sticks out the most compared last couple of seasons more physical too

@@MaximusR93 He was pretty good at defense for his size. He also could finish over players but you can't expect someone whos like 6'2 to be scoring buckets over 7'0 giants. Also his opportunity creation was amazing. He will be missed.
Damn. Malauch is a LOT better than I thought he was. Kon looked like he belonged, Sion is a damn monster and I love seeing the passion already from Coop. This team would roll last year's squad by 20 already.
What makes this team so dangerous is u can’t double and when u do we should be able to swing that ball and make teams pay. With players like foster, Kon, Evans, Flagg should be able to play 1 on 1 and we have a older point guard in proctor and his defense will lead the way as well this team should be special
I can already see that Coop cares more about making the right play than getting the bucket himself, reminiscent of Luka. Kid is going to be very very special.

Kon brings something Duke has lacked, something that has held back teams with great talent but not the smart play you need in March. He is an exceptional playmaker who used his big frame to create space and angles to create for himself and others, and his threat as a playmaker is made greater because he is also a lights-out shooter deep and in the mid-range. He is not as long, fast or hoppy as most Duke recruits but his hoops IQ if off the charts, and I say that having reviewed full game video from him in high school. He's also a smart defensive players who uses his smarts to compensate for a lack of quickness and length. If he can break-even on D, he will make Duke's offence so much better.

They all can play, so next thing is to be better. Sloppy defense on the ballscreens has to be worked on. Easy switching = mismatch on defense, no hedging and not even contest the shooter = open looks for the dribbler/shooter.
Khaman gotta get tougher around that rim. I know he wasn't going 100% but still. Also Foster is balling. Flagg looks specially and I love how much Proctor has improved. He seems ready.
Proctor is good. Foster and Evans practice ALOT at the few things they can do individually to maintain impactful as competition increases. James is an explosive monster. Kon is obviously good everywhere (as even this video alone proved) but it's his mindset that's awesome, he's like Caitlin Clark in that they both carried a small team to heights they've never seen before, whereas others flock to a team and stack it, this all produces different experiences for top talent, Kon also has a solid basketball family of older brothers to keep him 'in the game' mentally. 2:07, it's nice to see his Luka Magic going and that now he is facing competition where the paint has monsters that hold him up more. 4:46, nice level of body control from Mr. Basketball to just walk by speedy Foster, Foster doesn't even quite know what happened as it was so fundamental (Foster trusts the finishing ability of his layups and if he gets an opening he puts that shoulder down and blows right by and puts on a circus show, and he can memorize a play and watch rotations by keeping his head up and knows the little things that make a play more successful). Cooper with the mid-range cook 2:44, then switches that same thing to a pump-fake 3:55 that makes ANT jealous (as it was as legit as it gets, ANT has to blatantly carry the ball). They had Cooper on defense in a constant pick and roll blender, good job Coop trying to keep up.
I did a minutes projection for next season, which was a VERY FUN exercise: Flagg 35 Maluach 25 Ngongba 10 Brown 20 Proctor 25 James 25 Foster 20 Kneuppel 15 Gillis 10 Evans 10 Harris 5 The depth is embarrassing.
The cream rises to the top. Let’s just say Evans will have to prove that talent. Can he get to the rim and make plays or is he just a streaky shooter? Is he physical enough to impose his will on both ends of the court. Is he a defensive liability? Hypothetically, let’s say Evans answers all those questions positively and earns 20 minutes. Who would you subtract those extra 10 minutes from?
@@timothybullock5418defensively he has great lateral quickness, long arms and competitive as hell he already is a good man defender jus has to get team defense down but teams can try to hunt an athletic 6’7 wing won’t end well for them. Outside of Flagg and khaman I’m most confident his defense will translate fast. The kid is the definition of a 3 level scorer: knockdown shooter, smooth mid game and has touch at the rim. The kid is too gifted to not get a boatload of minutes.A top 15 recruit like him didn’t come here to sit on the bench all year

Kon is obviously good everywhere (as even this video alone proved) but it's his mindset that's awesome, he's like Caitlin Clark in that they both carried a small team to heights they've never seen before, whereas others flock to a team and stack it, this all produces different experiences for top talent, Kon also has a solid basketball family of older brothers to keep him 'in the game' mentally. 2:07, it's nice to see his Luka Magic going and that now he is facing competition where the paint has monsters that hold him up more. 4:46, nice level of body control from Mr. Basketball to just walk by speedy Foster, Foster doesn't even quite know what happened as it was so fundamental (Foster trusts the finishing ability of his layups and if he gets an opening he puts that shoulder down and blows right by and puts on a circus show, and he can memorize a play and watch rotations by keeping his head up and knows the little things that make a play more successful).
Cooper with the mid-range cook 2:44, then switches that same thing to a pump-fake 3:55 that makes ANT jealous (as it was as legit as it gets, ANT has to blatantly carry the ball). They had Cooper on defense in a constant pick and roll blender, good job Coop trying to keep up.

Evans is transferring if he only gets 10 minutes too talented to not have 15-20
The cream rises to the top. Let’s just say Evans will have to prove that talent. Can he get to the rim and make plays or is he just a streaky shooter? Is he physical enough to impose his will on both ends of the court. Is he a defensive liability?
Hypothetically, let’s say Evans answers all those questions positively and earns 20 minutes. Who would you subtract those extra 10 minutes from?
@@timothybullock5418defensively he has great lateral quickness, long arms and competitive as hell he already is a good man defender jus has to get team defense down but teams can try to hunt an athletic 6’7 wing won’t end well for them. Outside of Flagg and khaman I’m most confident his defense will translate fast. The kid is the definition of a 3 level scorer: knockdown shooter, smooth mid game and has touch at the rim. The kid is too gifted to not get a boatload of minutes.A top 15 recruit like him didn’t come here to sit on the bench all year

@@timothybullock5418ngongba and kon minutes can both go down tbh. I think kon is the freshmen that will have defensive struggles that keep him off the court and ngongba is gonna be behind khaman and the Syracuse transfer in the pecking order
