You gotta visit the Mossy Forest or take the 10 hour hike to Mount Irau. The scenery in the forest is magical and unique to Cameron. You can't find in UK for sure 😅
Our friends went there on the same day and unfortunately did not exactly like the experience - they said that it was super touristy and visiting the plantation was way better! We had done the research though and some people said that there's two starting points and the latter one is less known, so next time we should definitely try going there! On the say we visited CH, it was raining quite a lot unfortunately so we didn't manage to do that...
Congratulations.. you have climbed Mt Jasar.. or Gunung ( guu-noong ). Its dangerous to trek the jungle without a guide or someone who is familiar with the treks because you might be lost or follow the wrong trek (especially animal trails). You are lucky to find the Orang Asli (Natives) Village. Enjoy Cameron.. Easy trek will be from Sg Pauh Forestry Department to Mardi at Tanah Rata. The best and adventurous climb will be Gunung Irau (The mossy trail).. By the way, Hitchhike is not in Malaysian Culture but some Malaysian will be very kind to help.
Thanks 😍 We really did our best not to get lost and it was an enjoyable trekking! The only thing was the rain because at the end it got a bit slippery haha
@@JayandKarolina Yes it is slippery when it rains. If you are going to Ipoh, try visiting some Chinese Temples in the cave.. (Climb up the cave at Sam poh tong) Tasik (lake) Cermin, Gunung Lang, Ipoh Train Station, Concubine street.. Ipoh is also Food Haven. Try Mee Taugeh, Laksa Saranghae, Mee Rebus and Curry mee.. Enjoy ipohawesomecity..
This video was wonderful. 🫖 The scenes were breathtaking. My husband & I had a good laugh because as you both go, Karolina is not out of breath at all & every time you are in a different section & the trail gets smaller and you go from its "it ok, not bad", to "this is extremely difficult!" 😆, splashing water on your face... yet Karolina is not missing a beat. Great experience & just amazing views with the fresh tea. The local village great to see as well. 🎉😊
We found Cameron Highlands very charming! Especially the tea plantations 😍 It was so green all around!!! 💚 I used to dance (I was dancing for 14 years!) so my endurance condition is quite good, which I'm glad about because it allows me to do cool things! But I must admit that when we travel so much, it's sometimes hard to stay in shape because you're constantly tired 😂 [Karolina]
2:50 (this mark ) ooh my god this is a place where people do paranormal activities.just a few weeks ago they explored here and discovered some mysterious things that happened.very haunted place at night. Many mysterious things happen, for example a lost climber can't find his way home. not encouraged to climb here....there is a native village there... and shortcut a few KM route to the Tea plantation.
welcome to Malaysia 🙏 Go visit Sabah for wondrous nature such as Mt. Kinabalu and lotsa beautiful scenic islands Semporna, Mataking, Kapalai, Mabul, Pom Pom island just to name a few 🏝️🏖️
Cameron Highlands was discovered in 1885 by Sir William Cameron an english surveyor.. So don't be surprise to see its got a little bit of english influence
If you are in Ipoh, don't miss out on the Nasi Ganja, Nam Heong egg tarts, dry curry noodles, Cowan street chicken and bean sprouts and white coffee. Can refer to Food and footprint RUclips channel for the guides
The best scones are in Olde Smoke Inn. Everytime I visit Genting, we will always go there for the scenery and the lovely scones. In other words, with whichever group I happen to be with.
I love Cameron Valley's tea range! If you guys are still there, do go for a steamboat dinner. There's a nice little restaurant at Tanah Rata called Mayflower (you can Google the exact location - they are at the town center) that serves great Chinese food and steamboat sets in good portions at decent prices. Nothing hits like steamboat in cool weather!!
steamboat yes!!!! its really good considering u’ve been sight seeing the whole day in the cold. 2 hours later ur full and content and ready to snuggle in your bed 😂
Hii really love ur videos in malaysia!! hope ya enjoy the trip.if u have more time can visit Mossy Forest! its really an unique experience. its really really cold there u can bring some hot tea with u. From Malaysia with love!!
@@JayandKarolina some people will think, how about doing it in sunny day? Ive done hiking there a few times without any problem... I do recommand it to everyone, include kids... If anything, its all kinda challanges of hiking... If not ready for some challanges, just stay home.
Wow you guys are so adventurous. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻. I was like hoping you guys will reach safely and thankfully you guys did. 🫣🫣Thanks to the native people 😍😍😍. These scones isn’t the best ones. I prefer it at Cameron Highlands Resort. Their hi tea spread is awesome but it’s a lil expensive. Enjoyed the vlog and thanks so much for sharing!! 😍😍 For the weather yes it’s very close to England weather. Wet and gloomy 🤣🤣🤣.
Thanks! Thanks so sweet of you!!! We managed to arrive to CH and then to Ipoh safely indeed but to be honest it was tough in the mountains on those winding roads 🫣 We really enjoyed our stay though! And could have seen so many similarities with England too haha
Can I ask you guys if all your travelling with is the osprey 32L back pack per person . Me and the mrs are off travelling starting in Malaysia on September 3rd. And roughly how much in kg is in your bags in clothes ?
Hey David! It really depends on the travel type you want to do! We are using the 70L backpacks as our main luggage and 32L ones for the equipment and all the necessities 🤭 It's quite a lot but we would rather have the documents and electronics separated from the clothes.
Fair enough m8, I just seen you travelling through the highlands with your small backpacks and was thinking surely they ain’t trekking with all their gear😂 Think I need to catch up with all your videos. I am thinking 40L backpack or cabin size case. Plus a smaller backpack when out and about. It can get so confusing. Going away for up to a year so don’t wanna take to much or not enough haha.
@@TheGreyTrippers I think for most people having a rucksack + main luggage is the way to go in Asia. It's been really handy to also have a sling bang/tiny rucksack for when you are out and about. I think you can get away with a 40L backpack or cabin size case if you travel light!
@tabasco534 it is safe... but it is asian parenting thing... "You be careful... you get robbed then you know..." "Don't climb.... you will fall, break you neck & die!" 🤣

I'm pretty sure Malaysians have no idea what hitchhiking looks like. Nobody does that here. They probably think you're sticking your thumb out to say "Wow, you car looks good!" 😅
The scones at the tea plantations arent very good. Whenever I want some decent scones in Cameron's, i typically go to a cafe called the lord's cafe in tanah rata. Nice and crumbly and quite reasonably priced too.

Wondering why you are paying rm4? 😂 Reason is because you are exiting, not entering the farm

What a beautiful scenery at Cameron Highlands. Those scones looks appetizing!
In Malaysia, we usually serve scone with whipped cream not clotted cream.
Interesting! Good to know 😋

There is very famous jungle there, u should visit there. Like in the dream site, very very unique jungle
What's the name of it? Is it Mossy Forest?
@@JayandKarolina yes
I wonder if its actually margarine instead of butter. Margarine tends to be much more dry.
It did taste like proper butter though 😋
