TBATE is a story often compared to Mushoku Tensei, and with how popular that anime became, it begs the question , “would a tbate anime also work?”

Thorfinn fits best, feels like it's the most respectful to how older teen Arthur is described. He doesn't sound like a regular young teen, he specifically has a layer of baritone in his voice.

I wish for a legit animation studio to pick up TBATE that is just dedicated to make a masterpiece of an anime whether it's based on a Korean manga or not. Also, I have a bad feeling about the Solo Leveling anime so I want my next favorite manhwa TBATE to get an amazing anime adaptation at least
The new solo leveling trailer looked pretty nice to me but I can honestly only Judge it after the first big fight
tbate isn't a korean manga, the author is born in korea sure, but he lives in America. and has for a very long time. it's a comic, and novel

TBATE is one of the best Isekai, I love it, almost, if not as much as Slime. Art's cold brutality when angered is so cathartic at times.

Tbate anime is an isekae The isekae junkie community is unknowingly waiting for. I'm like, someone tell Gigguk about Tbate- he would love it even more than any other isekae by far i promise you that. It's just as mature as the big 3 seinen while also maintaining a sense of absurdism. It's a near perfect mix. And in the genre TurtleMe's penmanship is unrivalled, fight me 🗿.
And if any studio should do it, IT MUST BE WIT. They treat every anime as a passion project and that's what I want

yeah i think he would like it too, but its a big commitment tbh lol. the first arc was slow for me and i just luckily got baited into reading by a single picture i saw. and if he does read it, the best parts are still in the novel so we can only hope.

@@NovaLance honestly i can't imagine any traditional Japanese voice actor voicing Art. It feels kind of odd to me because the dialogues aren't written very Japanese like*- if that makes sense? I'd probably watch it in Dub. The guy who did David Martinez in Cyberpunk would be my choice.

For Arthur, or generally the voice actors for the English adaptation (or rather original, since the novel is English), I’d like the narrator for the Tbate audiobook. He does Arthur’s voice incredibly well. Just might have some problems because he works for audible, so his contract might stop him. If you listen to a couple of voice lines from tbate through shorts and such, you’ll know what I mean. Great video by the way!
Yeah that’s why I didn’t mention the dub because I can’t picture anyone else but Travis Baldree doing it. I have a video of him narrating the Arthur and cadell fight so I hear him alot

Madhouse is currently adapting the extremely niche Freerin story, (which I've been following for about a year now) so it seems they aren't opposed to doing lesser-known titles

My main concern for a tbate anime would be the pacing, a lot of anime never get past 1 season so I'm worried an anime would rush through the early stuff to get to the later books like the Adventurer's and school arc. I also think they should try a different style for the anime (not that fuyuki isn't good, it's just that the later parts are better art wise and I'd rather it be more detailed then what we got early on) especially with Cadell and other early characters. (The comic is doing a redesign of cadell and and later when they appear again, so I'd like for them to use that instead)
yeah i feel like i always have to preface that fuyuki isnt bad but nowadays, art tends to dictate the popularity especially for webcomics because those are always insane with the art. cadell is gonna get a redesign? thats hype i wish uto gets one too
(i hope this redesign is not what we saw when arthur was training with wren lol)
@@NovaLance the redesign for both will be something we haven't seen yet (and the thing they saw with wren was supposed to be a full vritra, but idk, I feel like they should look more human. All the art we have of vritra and vritra blooded people in the novel make them look very humanoid with just horns and sometimes paler skin / red eyes)

I wasn't even aware of anyone who actually knew of and loved this series on RUclips. Compared to other series like Solo Leveling (before they got approved for animation) TBATE is not drawing in as much attention as I wish it did.
sorry i took abit of a break, but yeah i think its really just the art that may have caused that in the beginning. i dont want just any studio to pick up tbate tho coz a bad anime could mess it up
@@NovaLance That's so true! I had ended up leaving the comic for the light novel while waiting for an update and decided to just fully transition to reading that instead. I love this story but I couldn't bring myself to reread the comic or continue it. Not sure if the art has improved but when I look at my old screenshots it was kinda rough NGL. I'm glad I started it when I did because I probably wouldn't have gotten into it because of those reasons today.
if tbate got an anime, i think it was just instantly take the spot for best anime ever.
I think that, in an English dub, they'd have to go with Scottish, British, and Irish voice actors (maybe the guy who played Sunohara from clannad for Lucas Wykes). For Arthur, I always imagine his dialogue with a deep, menacing Scottish accent.
As much as i love Wit they always dump a project the moment anything large-scale is about to happen, then Mappa picks it up for a quick buck
Thorfinn was definitely my pick as you were going through the choices because his speech is more refined, but Isshiki was a close second for the charm in his voice. However, Kozume Kenma was an instant "YES!" when I heard the voice and saw the picture of 14 year old Arthur. It fit almost perfectly. Whichever voice actor they choose, Arthur has to have a regal disposition in his speech that points to his monarch background. There are several comments made by other characters addressing his demeaner and presence which means the voice actor they choose needs to bring a regal and intimidating undertone to Arthur's voice while maintaining the boyish charm Arthur displays.
Haha it seems like you went on abit of a roller coaster there. But I agree with your thoughts. I feel like there should be a voice actor who should be able to be jovial but once that scene in the kings room during the auction happens, everyone who is watching should have instant chills and I think some of these actors can do that

I completely agree with you on your choices for the ost composers, Yuki or Kevin would both do an amazing job. I almost always have Tower of god ost on whenever I read Tbate novel, so yeah 😂
I really wouldn't want mappa to be the production studio others you mentioned would be great, as for Arthurs VA idk imo Kenmas VA fits the most out of those in the video, he kinda reminded me of Killua for a second there and I just feel like his VA would fit Arthur pretty well..

For TBATE anime to work out the first season should be 24 episodes and end with Xyrus Attack. It would be fast pacing, but after this i am sure that it will get second season.
I hope it will look like the webcomic, but follows the light novel. A bit of both worlds. Tbate is peak!
I would love to see Arthur with Isshiki's voice. I think it would match perfectly for the confrontation with Lucas

So for the music design for TBATE, I'm going to reach outside of the normal anime choices and suggest Alan Silvestri, the music director for The Night at the Museum, but more significantly Avengers Infinity War and Avengers Endgame. Just search the Portals music, when all the people that Bruce brought back with his reversal snap, and you'll hear exactly what I'm talking about. As for the voice, I'd go with the guy who did the sub version of Kirito from SAO, as he also did Xioa from Genshin Impact, and as far as the personality and voice are concerned, that's basically a carbon copy of Arthur Laywin.

Thorfinn was pretty good but I feel like his voice was a little too much off of the clips you provided. If he can change his voice to sound more calm and smooth he’d nail those darker moments from Arthur. Off of the choices you gave Kenma was easily my favorite. His voice is smooth enough to capture what I feel like Arthur would sound like most of the time especially during his goofy moments. But also has the range to make Arthur serious during the moments where it needs to be shown by his preformance as Eren. Really enjoyed your video tho!!! Definitely subbing and checking out your other TBATE content when I catch up to the LN
I agree but it was hard to find a serious and convincing moment of Kenma and I feel thorfin va can adjust if need be.

Heavy spoilers for the Tbate Novel vol 8,9,10 below. Guys read it. It's fantastic.
The Alacrya arc from Tbate is leagues better in terms of world-building, lessons and writing than the Marley arc from Aot. Arthur manages to become the beacon of hope for two continents. And his personal hype woman Seris helps to elevate his legend too.
We would all love if studio Bind animates Tbate

This Manwha clearly deserves an animated adaptation with some real budget backing it. It maybe an unpopular pick, but I would love Fortiche Production (the guys who animated Arcane) take the job, their style is so refreshing to me I want to see more

@@NovaLance I trust quite a bit that it would be a hit, although I understand that many anime fans might find it strange or even bad. But at the very least, I think it would be visually interesting to see. Trigger could be another good option; the work they did with Little Witch Academia, for example, I think fits very well into the world of TBATE.

i love kevin but dont agree with ur take as to why sawano wouldnt work. considering some of his best work is done in 86 which also has a completely different style to solo leveling so i dont see that as reasonable. It would be fine if you just think kevin would have a better time with the fantasy setting due to experience there.
Man I was just saying this after watching the new mushoku tensei. TBATE has a great pacing and much more enjoyable characters and storyline. Great vid!!

As a manhwa reader, even tbate manhwa is heavier and sadder than mushoku tensei, especially the last 2-3 seasons are deeper than moshoku tensei. I hope I will have the chance to read the novel soon... 🙏 Your choices were great. I wish we could raise money and bring this wonderful production to life... But its impossible 😂I hope someone can bring this masterpiece to life

for tbate to get an anime it would need to be 24 episodes and it cover all they way up to vol 5 for a good cliffhanger but covering 5 volumes in 24 episodes mean it needs next to prefect pacing
There’s a lot of 12 episode anime out now. That’s also entirely possible

Tbate is good, but it's funny how you described it as "basically imagine if mushoku tensei's protagonist was a gary stu" which I think is its biggest flaw. At least most gary stus have one flaw, being "too cool to talk about feelings" or "not mature due to young age", but Arthur's supposed to be mature and kind, so he just ends up being a... good guy. With zero flaws except "he's not god". The story is entertaining to read, but Art is the blandest part of it. Even shadow garden's Cid, similarly overpowered and the world also seems to revolve around him, along with funny reactions to the insanity he causes, at least has an interesting personality. I found the power fantasy funny and the worldbuilding works well enough, but Art has gotta be the weakest part of it. Most basic Main C. McProtag "I will protect my family" "good guy but not if you pissed me off" I've ever seen. Despite this flaw, I do like Tbate - I just found it funny that you made the big difference between it and Mushoku "he isn't as flawed", which is not a particularly good thing.
I don’t remember exactly what I said in the video since it’s been long. But my thought process was not that he doesn’t have flaws. He does but not the kind that Rudy does that makes people hate him. Like all the pedophilic stuff, but I didn’t want to get into all that since that wasn’t the goal of the video and was just a quick line.
I'm honestly curious if Tbate did get an anime and it had 12-24 episode where do you think they would adapt to.
Also if you want my opinion I don't think Tbate at least it's first season will be well received. Most would likely call it an Mushoku Tensei clone or bland Isekai like many view Faraway Paladin adaptation. Most of what set's Tbate apart occurs in the 5th volume.

I think a good season 1 end would be Sylvia passing on the egg. Either that or they may want to introduce the elf’s so we will get up to Arthur learning about beast will from virion

He should definitely be able to reunite with is parents within 12 episodes. Maybe him setting off to be an adventurer could be a decent spot, but yeah everyone would just call it a Mushoku Tensei clone until he kills Lucas and the training/war arc really begins

YOU PROBABLY WOULDN'T SAY THAT IF YOU HAVE READ THE NOVEL. THE STORY IS MUCH CRAZIER AND DARKER THAN MUSHOUKO TENSEI.

The story takes it to a next level from volume 7 onwards of the novel. There you will not find a single resemblence to Mushoku Tensei. I have read Mushoku Tensei completely till volume 24 and I've also read TBATE till the latest volume 10 and must I tell you, the plot and storyline of TBATE of is better than Mushouko Tensei. If you have just read the manhwa, I recommend you to read the novel, you won't be disappointed.
Also you might think it is Shounen, but lemme tell you, it's purely Seinen@@NovaLance

I didn’t really think much about the dub v.a because the guy who voices Arthur in the audiobook is realllyyyy good. And I haven’t heard of Ren but I wouldn’t mind ichigo’s dub v.a too
