That saying is also a double-edged sword. Can either mean that your assault is going to get a kill or be killed by running through a bunch of enemy reaction shots

A Sectoid is hiding behind a box outside the building. I probably narrowly avoided range of its possible overwatch. "Ah, there you are." I say to myself. Now I just have to finish him off, get that last hit and it's all over. One last hit, don't give him a chance to move.... 65% to hit huh.... I'll have to take it... My soldier leans up, the camera pans in front of him as he's aiming in, I smile not just in pride, but relief.

I really liked when this theme started playing when the sectoids and thin men were defeated and the more dangerous enemies started coming, like the song is a way of saying "Now the fight is even"
I used the voices of the Gears of War during my Long War play. It was so damn awesome hearing Marcus go "Suck pavement!" after killing a Muton, or Carmine shouting "IN YOUR UGLY FACE!" after wasting a Chrysallid.

I remember this played on my first EXALT mission. I was not ready for so many enemies. I had at least twelve operatives on the map at all times. Half of them were in the room next to the one I forted up in. That one rookie I brought along had the devil's own luck because she got caught out of cover at least three times that mission, and didn't get hit once.

I had a sniper that was like my best friend and missed all the shots on 1 mission, even with pistol! I don't fired him but keep him away from any other missions until I end the game. That fucking bastard.
I know the feels, I just had my first Chryssalid mission, 3 snipers, 1 shot gunner and the rest had assault rifles (beginning ones)... My god only one sniper got out there after running around with a pistol and getting chased by a Chryssalid, I HAD to leave the rest of the civilians behind... When only 1 out of 6 of your colonels is going to survive. Before playing Xcom for the first time I never knew how attached you could get to your soldiers and they die it hurts.
The moment this song invokes in me is when I open a door on an alien ship and two Sectopods are waiting to ambush my team which got injured from fighting another sectopod at the beginning of the mission. Classic "Oh Shit!" moment.
This song on 1.25x speed sounds amazing. Adds a sense of urgency to take immediate cover as well, like when you are out of moves and your last guy triggers a sectopod and its goons. Feelsbad

That's not bullshit; it was within statistically acceptable circumstances.
