It's been AMAZING watching this incredible anime with you for the past few months. It's been a staple of my week and I've never left dissatisfied. Thank you
Have watch this series 4 or 5 times now and I can honestly say it is my favorite visual media I have ever seen. A delight from begin to end that makes me feel every emotional moment it offered. If there ever is a 3rd season or more I would be so happy. Watching someone else enjoy this show was a treat. Thank you.
This is the second show I dropped as a teenager, only to be amazed by years later with Tee's reactions (the other being Princess Tutu). I think the first time around, the depression and toxic familial relationships were too relatable and weren't something I wanted in fiction, the place I went to so I could run away from all that. Watching it again now was a balm to my soul, essentially facing some of my trauma vicariously through the safe space of fiction. I'm still facing many problems and struggling, but this show made that feel okay. Thank you Tee for the virtual accompaniment and the many pieces of insight you offered along the way.
We all could use having a Rey in our lives to inspire us. And we all could use a Teeaboo to make sure we notice it. I dearly hope we get a third season, but in a sense it's not necessary. This story has become a part of those it touched. It's a living thing now. What an achievement.
And so, we reach the end. These 3-gatsu reactions are how I first found your channel, and let me tell you, it's been one hell of an enjoyable journey to re- experience this amazing story yet again alongside you. I want to thank you for giving this show the level of depth and afterthought that you have. It has truly been a joy to watch you experience this show, and then hearing all your really in-depth and interesting thoughts about it every week. Your discussions about this show have been so amazing, and you have given so much new insight regarding technical and narrative aspects alike. It has really been a highlight of Sunday nights for me, something I look forward to watching and preparing some snacks for and just enjoying. I'm going to miss this now long-standing routine, and miss this experience with the show. In regard to what you should watch next in 3-gatsu's slot, I think Space Brothers is a wonderful choice, with a large, lovable and human cast of character, a lot of both hilarity and wholesomeness, on top of a great deal of amazing drama and character relationships. It's an amazing ride that you'd be unlikely to forget, and it is similar to 3-gatsu in quite a few ways, and would be a really excellent replacement. Both build human characters, revolve around characters, drama, slice of life and wholesomeness. A great show that would be a great fit for both the channel and the 3-gatsu slot. It is also aimed at an older audience, and mature in a similar way to this show. 3-gatsu no Lion means... a whole lot to me, and I owe it quite a lot. The story Chica Umino has crafted here, and more so her characters had a very positive impact on me when I struggling the most with my mental health, losing myself, and my love for stories- both the creation and consumption of them. But me watching 3-gatsu was a quite huge step in the right direction for me. So many of the things the show had to tell and teach resonate with me so deeply, and honestly, no other work of fiction has the ability to make me smile so brightly, nor cry so hard. It evokes emotions from me in a way that nothing else manages. And the thing that never ceases to amaze me about this story is the sheer range of it. Throughout season 2 we get to see the complicated dynamics of middle-school bullying and all the damage that come with it. We get to see explore several adult shogi player's motivations, with Junkei being a prime example of this, of how the story hits home even in regards to side characters. We see the pain of losing and importance of perseverance through the beautiful arc with Shimada in season. We get insight into the lonely existence of Souya Touji, in regards to both his hearing problems and status as Mejin. And then this story even shows us the struggle of the older generation through Yanigahara, depicts the fears that come with old age, with retirement, the identity struggles and existential dread that come with that part of life. And in the middle of it all, we have the beautiful and great exploration of Rei's depression and trauma and growth as a person, learning to connect to others and accept himself. The fact that so many issues are tackled, and tackled in such a careful and mature way, is truly masterful. I have been struggling, ever since I first finished season 2, of whether or not I should start the manga. On one hand, I know Chica Umino's art is amazing and that, of course, her storytelling is as well. But I love what SHAFT, and the voice actors has done with this adaptation, that I really would love a third season of this more than anything. 3-gatsu no Lion is my personal masterpiece, due to me owing so much to it. I'm sitting and listening to the show's soundtrack while writing this, a soundtrack that I often turn to when I'm upset or need to think. This show is what I often turn to when life's gotten me down, my love for it just runs to incredibly deep. Watching clips from 3-gatsu always manages to lighten my hard, always make me feel. I have so much to thank 3-gatsu for, one of them being introducing me to your amazing content. Keep up your great work, Teeaboo. I can't wait to see your content to come, and to listen to your discussion, especially in regard to the long road of Monogatari you have in front of you. I'm about to start watching the video now, already getting emotional. Time to watch the end of this second season once again. 3-gatsu truly is special. And, once again, thank you for all this time of watching it alongside you. It's been a blast, truly. Thanks. EDIT: Just finished the video. What you said about hard work, 3-gatsu no Lion as a force for good that has touched people. Your amazing words of send off made me cry really bad. Your emotions really came through as you said farewell to this show. Thank you again. Until then, let’s hope for season 3.
Koda mother is played by Sumi Shimamoto. Veteran VA known for Nausicaa and Kyoko from Maison Ikkoku. Really great narration. Kawamoto granpa already talked about this, but a high-school B-2 shogi player is incredible. Almost unrealistic level. The one and only genius, Hifumi Kato, achieved B2 in his 16, but it's that level of achievement. Rei should have taken a lot of interviews.
Had to binge your reactions after finishing the anime and manga this week. This series is truly beautiful and something special. Keep up the good work to you too. I always like watching a more in depth reaction to these type of shows
It's over already. so sad. Even though I didn't understand all of you because n't live in an English-speaking country, I really liked your reaction and comments. Thank you.
It has been an honor watching this masterpiece with you. Unfortunately, I don’t think there is another anime that is at this level...at least none that I know of. I left a list of potential anime in the last video...however, if I could choose one for you to react to that has such a wealth of characters, world, and development I would say The Twelve Kingdoms. Also, the way you described Rei reminded me of the MC of Natsume Yuujinchou. Good luck in your search to fill the void of March Comes In Like a Lion
We're finally here. I discovered your channel at the beginning, simply because of this series and stayed along because you really got the series. Thanks Teeaboo for your hard work! This is one of those series that makes me glad I'm in this whole anime subculture. The powerful messages in here truly resonate. I don't think any anime can really fill this slot with this level of excellence. But, If I had to make a recommendation, it would depend on what you're after. For something about striving, achieving distant goals and the human connection between the people you meet on the journey, then I would choose, "Sora yori mo Tooi Basho". For general cuteness, wholesomeness and "Momo"-ness with the struggles that come with not so uncommon, major life events, then I'd choose either "Amamaa to Inazuma" or "Usagi Drop". Whatever the next series is, I look forward to what comes.
First of all, thank you for reacting to this show. I saw Sangatsu for the first time around the same time as you but didn't know about your channel. Since then, I've always wanted to sit down and rewatch my favorite show along with you. I had kind of forgotten the little intricacies it has. I'm the type who likes to watch Christmas themed anime episodes or movies on Christmas. So when 2022 began a few days ago, I was searching to commemorate the event by myself by looking for New Years anime episodes. That search led me to Episode 11 from Season 1 of Sangatsu, which covers the chapters "Old Year/Year out" and "New Year/Year in". I watched it by myself first, then read the chapters from the manga, but then I thought if there's any time to watch your reaction to this show, it's right now. So 2 days ago I started with your reaction to episode 11 of Ssangatsu. I wanted to watch your reaction to the first season but your system wasn't as refined back then as it was the start of the channel and watching on Mega is kinda ehhh so I just watched those 2 episodes and jumped straight to marathoning all of season 2 with you. And honestly, that was a really good decision since my memory of those episodes was so fresh. I never knew that episode 11 of S1 would be so relevant. In that episode, the Kawamoto sisters save a chronically ill Rei from his apartment on New Year's Eve and Rei spends the New Years with them. The main theme of that episode was exactly what we have here - family. It brought about some huge developments in Rei's relationship with the Kawamoto home and quite literally pulled Rei out of his shell. Over time, Rei realizes the weight of what the Kawamoto family did for him that night. In season 2, that realization becomes stronger. But when Hina is getting bullied, Rei thinks of repaying the Kawamoto family for that and all other favors in terms of monetary amounts. Yeah the reason he comes to that conclusion is because he's never been in this situation before, at least not in the same way as Hina and so doesn't know what to do which is just *chef's kiss* to his character depth but while watching your reaction to that episode, I wrote a comment about how you shouldn't boil emotional relationships down to receive and return favors but always keep them in the back of your head and the time and opportunity for you to return will come by itself. And to my surprise, THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENS AND EXACTLY WHAT HE DOES in this season's New Years episode! Like Rei says, he couldn't actively go to his school and help her during the bullying. The time and opportunity just wasn't right for him. But this time during the entrance exams when the time and opportunity comes to him, and he can directly play a part in Hina getting accepted, he takes the opportunity. Again, parallel to last year, this time it's Hina who becomes sick during New Years. And when Akari has to go and the Kawamoto family is in a pinch, he stays beside Hina and takes care of her. And there we go, he directly returns the favor he was so grateful for! What really made me happy at this moment was what Rei said to Akari as she was leaving the house in Episode 43. Something like "No problem, you did so much for me last year." That really got to me, since it means he remembers! And he's well aware that he's carrying out a favor by helping the family during a pinch. And it means HE'S LEARNED! He's learned what it means to return favors in an emotional relationship. This entire side to his character development which is never at the forefront since episode 11 of season 1 just made me fall in love with the show even more. Such amazing background writing can only be the signs of a masterpiece. Thank you once again for making my new year better.
I really enjoyed watching this with you. I found your channel through sangatsu. This show goes so deep into human nature and it’d beautiful. The many times it shines the spotlight onto a side character and makes them a real person with fears and aspiration... it’s incredible. And the main cast is so loveable ! Who wouldn’t root for them ? Rei, Hina, Akari, Momo, Takahashi, Nikaidou, Shimada... and everyone else, i want all of them to suceed ! Honestly, i still hope for a season 3 announcement... and if it comes i hope you pick it up and watch it with us again. Thanks for this beautiful ride, i thoroughly enjoyed it.
(I'll put this separately from my super long comment as well, so that it is more easily seen) In regard to what you should watch next in 3-gatsu's slot, I think Space Brothers is a wonderful choice, with a large, lovable and human cast of character, a lot of both hilarity and wholesomeness, on top of a great deal of amazing drama and character relationships. Now that ur done with this, u could always watch Honey and Clover, Another amazing show by Chica Umino, The adaptation covered the whole manga and is one of the best slice of life series out there. Though i think March comes in like a lion is way better, due to her becoming a better creator as time went on, with more experience, It's still ways above the competition, if u can pls give it a try, would love to hear ur discussion on it.
Ping Pong the Animation would the best choice to watch next. Both similar and different to 3 gatsu, imo Ping Pong stands out more for how incredibly much it's able to do in a mere 11 episode runtime. I recommend everyone who loves 3 gatsu to watch it. I hope you'll do one day, these 2 are masterpieces without a doubt and have so much to take inspiration from. Not just in the messages they give but the work behind them from a technical standpoint too
I was looking through his MAL and noticed that he's already watched it (10/10 too!), so unfortunately he probably wouldn't re-watch it but cool that he's seen it.
@@TeeD20 my bad...I don't follow you too much because I've not seen a lot of the anime you react to myself yet, will do so tho in the feature you're very good at it and seem genuinely passionate in what you do.

Ok, so you're done with my favourite anime of all time, and you're watching my 2nd favourite now (Monogatari), I hope that someday you'll react to my 3rd favourite one which is Hyouka. Perhaps you could rename Mecha Monday to Mystery Monday and watch it on that day, it got a lot of votes on the previous poll (the one Monogatari won) so maybe you'll consider it one day.
Welp...we're here..at the end on season two. This anime made me feel a lot of different emotions and your reactions and discussions are an amazing addition to this remarkable show. 100% agree on the rating, 10/10 for sure. As for what to watch next...well i haven't yet come across a show that's quite like this but one that sits pretty high on my list of favorites is definitely Hyouka. If your interested in an amine with stunning animation and visuals, intriguing story and most importantly interesting characters it's one i can't recommend enough. I also think it has quite the potential for discussions.
I want to read the manga so bad but I have to wait for season 3! and my recommendation is Clannad. it's my favorite anime of all time right above 3-gatsu.
I second Hikaru no Go. I read it back when Jump was new to USA and I found the characters to be engaging and the shogi interesting since I'd never read a go series before. I also liked it because it seemed to be in a similar vein to Shaman King, which I also enjoyed at the time.
I second that. It's emotional without being cheesy and it has one of my most favorite mentor/student relationships ever as well as one of the best rivalries ever. Shogi isn't the only strategy based board game after all. Go needs some love too.
It's been AMAZING watching this incredible anime with you for the past few months. It's been a staple of my week and I've never left dissatisfied. Thank you

Hina is so cute
I want to read the manga so bad but I have to wait for season 3!
and my recommendation is Clannad. it's my favorite anime of all time right above 3-gatsu.
I'll once again recommend Hikaru no Go because it's a series with a lot of heart and feels.
