Great footage! Subbed. Can I ask, why did they park up with turrets turned 90 degrees like that?

To be honest I'm not sure. Some are to the rear, others to the flank but in a war they'd never be parked in rows in the open like this. Please check out my other video of Challengers in a battle group moving out.

Looks like they were parking up, so maybe they chuck a tarpaulin over the barrel and there’s the shelter.

There are a few reasons, It is so you can lift the back decks up for maint, you point the turrets the same way so a REME recovery vehicle can get easy access without barrels all over the place in case a Tank needs a pack lift (engine lift). A fuel truck can also move up the line easily (although this would normally be done beforehand) This is a non-tac formation and maybe a maint period for a day or so. There are a few other reasons such as bore sighting, gun maint etc.. and also, the military generally likes things looking uniform of course :-)

We make the best MBT’s in the world, yet can’t make our Infantry a decent main weapon....

The L85A4 is a bloody good bit of kit. Its extremely accurate, has a high rate of fore and has developed into a very reliable, capable weapon system. Btw, we never called it the "SA80" in the Army. That was the commercial name of the development programme.

      @@ScienceChap There isn't even a weapon called the L85A4.
