Bomber Command Tribute
A great friend of mine, Flt. Lt. Harry Bentley, flew with 467 Squadron, RAAF, Bomber Command, in the period from 1943/44 during WW2, his last raid being on the French Coast on DDay. Harry passed away in 2016 but a story he told me that has stayed with me and is the reason for me making this video.
Losses on 467 Squadron during his time there were absolutely horrendous, on one occasion Harry's bomber was the only one to return from a raid. The losses obviously took a heavy toll on everyone in the Squadron, from the aircrews to the WAAFs and in the officer’s mess, they only ever played one record, 'I don't want to set the World on fire' by the Ink Spots.

HMS Queen Elizabeth at Portsmouth Harbour. Filmed as I was heading across to Normandy on the Ferry, the HMS Queen Elizabeth is absolutely gigantic and absolutely breath taking when you first see her. She is without doubt the most beautiful ship I have ever seen. Enjoy

This is the BEST recipe for Chili on the net by a country mile and the secret is using a 'Shin of Beef on the bone' as apposed to mince meat. Can someone tell me what that box at the back of the gun barrel is?
It's the housing for the TISH/ TOGS sight head. On Chally 1 it was mounted in a cleft on the right side of the turret.
Worked at Vickers Newcastle where Challi 2 , Cheiftain ,turrets for the Warrior were built along with varients(recovery vehicles , bridge layers as well as Vickers Mark 3 and other tracked armour for foreign countries.Really enjoyed my 26 years with Vickers.
And you can brew up inside typical British have a cuppa to refresh the brain 🧠

The main gun tracking the cameraman was rather disconcerting! Chally 2 is one of those tanks that just look "right". I mean it's the ultimate recruitment tool... just show them the tank!
I love how the Challenger 2 looks and sounds familiar to a Tiger 2.
most of it is excellent. my q is why has the Challenger got smoke buds? if it's a Challenger 2 it wouldn't need it. Diesel gets sprayed directly on to the hot exhaust. my Auxiliary wouldn't care either. it would just take care of it.

Ha! Yeah, it actually made me a wee bit nervous at the time!!!! But in times since when I was doing shoots, if the CO saw me, or anyone with a camera I suppose, he'd do this with the main gun which made for some great shots!
