Great review, a much improved car being based on the 208 platform I suspect. Isn’t it staggering how increasing growth of these B segment cars has driven up the power. I can remember when 75-90bhp was a decent D segment car output!

Only 20 years ago a B or even a C segment car with over 100hp was considered hot hatch territory. The cars have gotten bigger and heavier though.

Great review! Omg, snap! I had my driving lessons and passed my test over 20 years ago in a Corsa B 1.5TD GLS too.

I think many of us first took to the roads in one, I doubt many would have had the TD in GLS spec though. 😅
I did actually once drive the NA version and it was painfully slow.

@@markonmotoring I yes, I drove a few van versions of it and I agree… very slow

A mighty fine review of a thoroughly decent car , with the Fiesta going off sale soon Vauxhall will even more , despite the glovebox !

Yes I expect it will take some of the market share that the Fiesta would have surely snapped up.
It is very much a typical vauxhall. Does everything you will need it to do well but just lacks that extra bit of sparkle that makes a class leader.

Great little review Mark, I think the 1.2 engine in this Corsa is the same that's in my Cactus. The 130bhp 1.2 is also a engine I have experienced in a DS4. I do think through it is a much nicer example than the previous Corsa.

The car overall was a good effort on Vauxhall's part and though the engine in this firm had the right amount of power it just didn't sound at all pleasant, something you could perhaps forgive a cheap city car but this is by no means a cheap car.

Great Review. Well equipped car, scary money wise, but all cars seem silly money these days. Sign of the times having a 2 year old hire car, presumably thanks to extended lead times due to chip shortages & Ukraine car part supplier delays

Yes I expect many fleets are holding onto vehicles longer than usual. We have some rigid trucks as old as 65 plate on the fleet at work and 2018 tractor units. Typically the fleet lifecycle was four years previously.
I agree the cost of cars has become so unaffordable that for many even the used car market is limited to PCP.

A lot of the showrooms and forecourts have very few cars.
