"Shame": Trudeau responds to Poilievre remark that female spaces should be "exclusively for females"

- Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre said at a Wednesday news conference that he believed "biological males" have no place in women's sports or female change rooms.
He was asked about his position on whether transgender women should be allowed in spaces that are labelled for women and whether he would introduce any legislation to stop it. Poilievre replied saying he believes "female spaces should be exclusively for females, not for biological males."
Speaking from Edmonton later in the day, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau responded by attacking Poilievre for his comments, accusing the Opposition Leader of driving political wedges and sowing division rather than focusing on offering "concrete solutions” for issues facing Canadians. “Shame on them,” Trudeau said.
Earlier this month, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith's controversial plan to prevent those under the age of 18 from accessing gender-related therapies, such as hormones and puberty blockers, sparked heated debates and protests across the country.

If biological women want their own washrooms and their own sporting events, so be it. Either we partition washrooms and events by biological sex, or we make it a free-for-all where anyone can use whatever washroom and enter whatever event "they" want.
Trans people exist, but there are only two human biological sexes. "Gender" isn't a hard science, it's a sociological one.

Global news cut off the question posed by a Rebel News reporter to which Poilievre is answering in this clip. This same reporter had reported about a 50- year old intact biological male who identifies as a 13-year old girl and thus swims with and change in the same dressing room as these girls in an Ontario swim club. However, this chap who identifies as a 13-year old can drive away in his car no problem. Thus, the question is valid about safe spaces for women and girls.

It's primarily provincial jurisdiction and it's sad that this LGBTQ2S debate gets so much air time from federal politicians when there are really important matters that, unlike Trudeau claims, PP is very happy to talk about. Trudeau has had 8 years at the helm and people are disappointed with his results. Waste of tax payer funds, unfilled federal justice positions, balloting federal debt, 8 consecutive budgets in the red, Bail, crime and punishment, ballooning cost of housing/rent, and so on. Real matters that effect all Canadians Not sure how many Trans youth are troubled by Poilievre's remarks, but it is a very small segment of the population, and they don't vote. Their parents do though, and Trudeau doesn't seem to realize that most are actually at odds with him.

The federal government has always been the ones that decided when a child attains adulthood. I work with a trans woman who is a member of CCFR and hunts bear (she has never actually said she's trans, but it's pretty obvious. And she shows up on time and does her job well, and that's all anyone cares about). I know gay people (men and women) who are totally on-side with the "no trans men in female spaces" argument. Sure it feels good to be "progressive" when you are young in college but when you start paying taxes and realize how messed up this country has become since JT and how your hard earned money got wasted, you will want to end this drama asap.
Its about that amount every election. Less than half the country vote for them every time. Go look up the most revent opinion poll. Last I checked they were at about 41%. A majority would be 51% or more. The only reason they ever win is because the rest of the vote is split between 4 different parties. So again, I ask you. To what "silent majority" are your referring?

-the title is really biased.
