I put my wigs on in front of my edges - on my forehead and use got2B hairspray. When i take it off i use a spray bottle with 1/2 water and 1/2 aloe juice (the kind u drink), spray my edges, massage, wait a minute and gently take off my lace frontal.
The friction from the lace wig sliding back has made my edges thin also they smother my hair follicles and dry my hair out...my hair is so moisturized healthy and stronger since I have been wearing my natural hair out letting my scalp get oxygen
I'm on the same boat. But now my edges are already thin so I don't know how to style my hair so I don't look bold lol....If you have any suggestions please let me know.
Same. I didn't realize it at first but the lace, no matter how I wore it, was breaking my hair off. I wore wigs for several years before putting 2 and 2 together. Got braids and now my edges are growing back.
Yes! Please do a hair prep video and how you take care of your hair! Also could you please do a how-to store your wigs safely at home and for travel? Thank you Mary. :)
I used the got2b freeze hold spray. I use it on my skin around my hairline and not on my actual hair. It hold the wigs in place and it’s really secure.
Oh thats Lauren lmaooo some people really don’t notice a skin demarcation on their forehead from wigs , even though it be there ! And everyone else can see it 🤷🏽♀️
I pre-braid my hair underneath, make sure cap is secure to my head, and use Bobby pins. Using a lot of product on edges is bad for them. And I don’t have time to remove product at night. That process takes a total of 5 min to get ready in AM.
Cornrows put too much stress on my edges. I'm tender headed and I can't take the pain. That's why I only flat twist my hair underneath my wigs... and I don't know how to braid.😁 Your install was super quick. That's why I like closure wigs. It just takes too long for me to install a frontal. I always have issues laying down the sides. I rarely see closure wigs available on most sites.
Cynthia Cummings You are absolutely right! I don’t enjoy doing cornrows. Seems like since I’ve been Natural I’ve become tender-headed as well. Flat twists are definitely a better option. Also, I had gotten away from closures when Lace fronts became a thing. But, giving them another shot, I’ve been like “Wow!” These are sooooo much easier to install😅
Just found this. I like the way you speak, and that you are straight to the point. You sound like you know what you are talking about. I trust you. I’m going to try this. Thank you.
Mary I have an awesome idea for your channel you should do a series of edge friendly wigs!!!! You are going to start a new RUclips trend with this one 😊😊😊😊
Your hairstyle and wig looks great! Also, you kind of have similar facial features like model Naomi Campbell. I would be interested in hearing more tips on how to take care of your natural hair while wearing a wig. But thanks for making and sharing this video.
Mary thank you so much but girl I want to know more because I’m losing my edges for no reason. I don’t straight my hair so my hair is 100% Natural but I don’t know why that’s happening to me 😭😭😭😭😭 please heeeeeeelp
I don't use glue or gel and my lacefront still snatched my edges on one side, ugh. I wear a wig cap and a wig grip. I sewed an elastic band in the back and my wig stays down but, I do push my wig back a bit for a more realistic look.
Chyna’s Vlogs what if you have edges that are super long and you can’t put on wigs properly cause the lace doesn’t fully cover it? i have thick baby hairs but i wanna wear lace wigs. even when i gel them back it’s still so close to my forehead 😔
@@liah724 I used this vid ruclips.net/video/fCM--tqGLgQ/видео.html with my low edges. I literally did what she does.. Pull out a few layers from the middle so that my edges can still be covered.. Works a charm everytime x

So I have long thick 4b 4c hair. I hate cornrows but I could never get my hair flat with the two braids you have. Did you blow dry your hair first or do you ever do like two stand twists under?
I am not too familiar with the whole laying down the lace on the edges and I probably would not even attempt to do that cuz I know for sure I will damage my edges. So this week would work out for me but my question for you is what would I do to ensure that the wig stays snatched to my edges so that there is no mishaps with the wig sliding back and it's insurance that the lace leaves firm and flats on my forehead?
Yes ladies please stop cementing the cap to your edges🤦🏾♀️ they are just as important as eyebrows lol but seriously tho their are better ways. This video is a great tutorial 🙂
I literally use nothing. I have extreme hair loss and now just trim it down. And just pop on the wig without cap or anything. They never move and im a nanny.
Can you do a video going over how to apply the products you suggested. Like the aloe vera juice and the castor oil please. I suffer from alopecia and get injections in my head so I have no choice but to wear wigs everyday but my injection sessions will stop if it's not successful
